President Karzai ,Obama on Security Transition Process

President, Hamid Karzai in a telephone conversation with his US counterpart, discussed issues on transition process for security responsibility from the international forces to the Afghan control and some other key issues, his office said on Wednesday.
Preparation for 2014 elections and efforts for beefing up an Afghan lead peace process was also from the main tips discussed with the strategic country’s leader, the presidential press office said.
Expressing regret over the recent deadly incident during which, as many as nine children were killed and wounded in eastern Kunar province, said continuation of such incident would deteriorate the relation between the two nations and would lay negative impact on finalization of the security agreement, the statement quoted.
Both leaders also welcomed the further security responsibility transition from the international forces to the Afghan lead across the country.
Karzai was quoted in the statement that he was committed a transparent, fair, free and wide-ranging election in the country, and emphasized that neither internal circles nor foreign countries would be allowed to interfere in the Afghan election process.
President Obama welcomed Karzai’s recent peace talks with Qatari ruler, Sheikh Hamd Ben-e Khalifa Ale Sani in Doha.
