I will open this summary up with just a couple of thoughts....my own of course.....be keenly on the watch for what ever Maliki might be up to in these last days or hours of his reign as Prime Minister....I do not believe he will simply fade into the sunset....he has had too great a taste of the power to let it simply slip through his hands. I pray he does the right thing and does just let go....but his past speaks loudly of the potential for other things to happen.
Nassif: government negotiations ended and all the blocks provided the names of candidates for the ministries
Abadi got the list of names from all the political blocs.....now he is working fast and furious to pull together his "list" of what he feels are those qualified and exemplary from their past efforts in their respective areas of expertise who can assist him in running the Iraqi government for the coming years.....he has a few days yet before the deadline given to him by their Constitution to form his government.....the coming days and hours should be most interesting.

Economists are demanding an investigation into the integrity of government banks to grant loans without collateral
The Integrity Commission is being called to look into the banking habits of a number of government banks, allegedly guilty of offering loans without requiring collateral to back up the loans.....corruption is being opened up like bean cans it seems....and all that comes out are worms.....the Integrity Commission may be working many hours of overtime just in attempting to keep up with the demand for investigations into all kinds of corruption that rises to the surface once Iraqis see that Maliki is no longer driving the train.
Keywords assume the position of governor of the central bank raises questions
Keywords "Ali Mohsen Ismail".....keywords indeed....why now...why today.....Turki has been talking of retirement since last year in September....now just hours ahead of the announcement of Abadi's new government we have a change in leadership of the CBI.....if this is Maliki's attempt at something.....may God take care of him.....if this is the effort of the PTB....the "powers to be".....then applaud their efforts to set the house up right for the new leaders....I just need some TUMS over this deal and maybe everything will be alright.
Disclosure of the leaders that he intended to arrest al-Maliki after commissioning Abadi
As the time approaches for Abadi and his government to be made public and voted upon by Parliament....Maliki's presence and status becomes if anything.....a bit precarious.....will he be arrested....will he be allowed to leave the country....will he stand trial for any number of criminal charges and humanitarian charges that will undoubtedly surface against him.....will he simply disappear in a witness protection-like program....I would not want to be in his shoes over the next few days.
Kurdish Negotiators in Baghdad Want Aviation Rights
The Kurds have added yet another demand to their list that is sitting in Baghdad....that of having final say over their airspace and not allowing it to rest in Baghdad's hands in the future.....from the sound of things, much of the Kurd demands have been agreed upon....but how much more burden can be added to the stack before Abadi and entourage say enough is enough.
Agreement between al-Jubouri and Abadi to provide composition of the government to the parliament this evening
OK, no dancing in the streets.....just yet......it would appear that Abadi has been talking to Speaker of Parliament al-Jubouri and both may be prepared to run Abadi's list of ministers before Parliament as early as this evening....time grows short in Baghdad for this to happen today.....but heck even tomorrow would be good too....I can't help but think there are a great number of people who are wanting to see the last remnants of the old government gone, kaput, out of there.....and Abadi can't be doing this too quickly.
Parliamentary Committee temporary rule out the adoption of the budget for fiscal 2014
The temporary committee.....Finance Committee from Parliament is suggesting that the adoption of the budget for 2014 is not viable at this time.....geez....they again come back with the idea that nothing gets done on the committee because the chair was Abadi....now that he has been promoted....they are just a bunch of camels with their heads cut off.....so instead let's just operate month by month....day by day....and see how things go until such time as the 2015 budget is ready.
Specialists: the development of the banking sector, a key pillar of the economic reform
It seems to me that it would make perfect sense in an economic reform effort you need to be assured the banking sector also develops with the reform in order to effectively handle the financial requirements generated by such reform....oil is obviously king in Iraq.....but as other sectors gain a foothold within Iraq the banks need to be poised and ready to work with them to meet their financial needs going forward.....this holds true for government and privately held banks together.
Citizen expects the government's announcement Thursday: Oil and Baath most prominent of the remaining points of negotiation
The Citizen Bloc is now expecting an announcement from Abaditomorrow and not today.....this article says that Finance Ministry will be held within the National Alliance, but by who is unclear....that the Oil Ministry will be held by the Kurds....something they were attempting to make happen.....we should formally know the final results in the coming hours.
Awadi surprised absent Maliki for today's session
Someone is actually surprised that Maliki would be missing from a meeting that would discuss the Spyker Camp incident where so many Iraqi's may have been slaughtered....he might have to answer some very uncomfortable questions if he had chosen to attend the meeting....on the other hand....is his absence a sign of any guilt on his part.
Washington: Iraq will provide munitions, tanks and transport vehicles within a few days .. and F16 after securing the base country
Just the headline itself speaks to the high possibility of a government change in the coming hours or days for Iraq.....US military equipment being freed up for delivery where it had formerly been delayed for unknown lengths of time.....the coming days will be of great interest to see how trade opens up for the Iraqi's as their government is transformed into a unified effort.
Urgent .. Musawi's (et) vote on the government Thursday orFriday
As Wednesday ebbs away in Baghdad now we are seeing claims of Thursday or Friday to announce the new government....either is fine as it is ahead of the Constitutional deadline.
Urgent ... parliament to raise its next Saturday
After listening to testimony concerning the Spyker Camp slaughter of 1,700 Iraqis the Speaker of Parliament called for the next "scheduled" meeting of Parliament to be Saturday......there is still the possibility of an emergency meeting of Parliament to be called as well to announce the new government.....either Thursday orFriday....again Maliki was expected to be present at this Parliament session today but was a no show....sending his Minister of Defense instead.
Source: National Alliance awaits announcement Abadi cabins ministerial approval
The National Alliance is saying that the negotiations are now over, that Abadi has his chosen ministers....one thing I've noted is just how "tight-lipped" Abadi himself has been in this process.....everyone else wants to talk and push their chest out....but Abadi seems to be "abiding" his time and waiting until things are formally announced then when he is seen as the Prime Minister....not some "elect" person....then he will speak for all of Iraq....and I believe we and the world will like what is heard from him at that point.....not saying that he will immediately announce an IR or anything, but I believe his first words will be very encouraging for all that hear.
Breaking News...Iraqi Forces Alliance gets eight ministries and deputy prime minister
This article lists a bunch of ministries and individual names associated with respective ministries....but I would couch it to say....it is NOT OFFICIAL.....so IMO....means little to nothing for us at this point.
Source: Maliki will serve as First Vice President of the Republic
Again another article from "some source" that claims or alleges that Maliki will be named as the First VP of the Republic.....could this be true....sure it could....cockroaches are one of the most difficult things to exterminate.....is it likely....who is to say....I just know IMO....if I were President Masssoum.....I would have my doubts about M serving anywhere near me.
Iraq Shiite alliance .. announce the completion of the cabinet reshuffle Thursday
