"The first major legislative challenge to the National Security Agency's bulk collection of phone records from millions of Americans was defeated by only a narrow margin on Wednesday, sending a clear signal to the Obama administration that congressional anger about the extent of domestic surveillance is growing."*
Should the NSA be allowed to secretly collect phone data on people who aren't under investigation? "YES," establishment politicians like Mike Rogers, Nancy Pelosi, and even Michele Bachmann.
Michigan Republican Justin Amash introduced legislation to defund only that portion of the NSA-- was he at all successful?
Cenk Uygur breaks it down.

I get so many e-mails that are sales from anything from specialty stores, to computers, to science items, and the sales are presented as 'images' that can be loaded.

NSA technology may be able to view a picture and read the names of streets and stores and the logo on someone's outfit, but are they interested?

They may be able to see that Disney has a 50% off sale and sent a picture from an online catalog, or Dell or IBM are selling computers and put an image with the information on the sale and a link to go to it, but do they care?

The people who are being monitored do not necessarily 'need' to type text into a computer or send a message via a cell phone. Calls may be monitored but there are many ways to communicate. I'm sure with all the cameras around, they are reading and capturing deaf people communicating with their hands, and catching the image of whoever is signing the latest sermon in a church on a sunday broadcast.

There are some things that should raise a worry, and there are some things that 'we need to know' so we can decide what we want to do about it.

When people could get on the do-not-call list, a marketer said he didn't care. He said people will sign up for the do-not-call list and turn around and give all kinds of information about their self for a chance to win $100.

Facebook proves that many don't have any comprehension of privacy and non-disclosure about their selves, and some people have parents who gave/give them no privacy so they don't expect to have it when they leave the home.

Already living in a world with no trust, created by the people who don't trust people.

Love to all for the world 'we' co-created together.

Were you really expecting the Politicians to go against the establishment? to bite the hand that feeds them? We already now the parties are just a game both Republicans and Democrats play the good cop bad cop game without any concerns about our well being. If nobody is watching the data, why colected? just to see our reaction? just to make sure how dumb down we are? just to see the effects FaceBook and Twitter and the countless ways they gey us to give out information have on the way we view our privacy? When you look at it the method has not changed, they give us something shiny and pretty in exchange for what they want from us, so we give them wherever they want without questioning them. Their job right now is to downplay the importance of what Snowdown did, just make it look like is not a big deal. Well it is a big deal because when we give out our info to get the 100 gift card or to be trending on facebook or wherever, we do it willingly, when the government go sneaking around and get our emails, phone calls, location at all times, etc., and they do it without telling us that they are doing it, that is concerning, creepy, and disturbing. And the question is WHY ARE THEY DOING IT?
