Friday Morning News Summaries.....Don't get OIL all over you

Iraqi Kurdistan govt statement on first oil sales through pipeline export

Finally, an oil tanker has left the Turkish port of Ceyhan loaded with a million barrels of Kurd oil heading to Europe....the revenue generated from this sale will be deposited in the Halkbank in Turkey on behalf of the Kurds where 5% will be set aside for reparations....now let's see how Baghdad reacts to this.

U.S. official: Washington rejects the government's majority is not a veto on Chalabi

The US government says it won't interfere with the formation of the Iraqi government, but yet they will offer tips to ensure political consensus...isn't that interference....just saying....there are other names besides Maliki that are being whispered, but I think everyone is waiting to see just what M is capable of doing before pushing anyone too strongly at this point in time.

Iraqi Kurds Ship Oil Through Region's Own Pipeline

Yes the Kurds have sold a million barrels of their oil through Ceyhan and it is headed to Europe....Baghdad apparently was not in the loop on this deal and it is expected they won't be none too happy about it either....Baghdad has stated in the past that they would withhold the Kurds 17% of the budget if they attempted to sell the oil....well guess what....there still is no budget....could the Kurds be using this sale of oil to their advantage when it comes to the election process....Maliki is still looking for an alliance with someone....could he find it again with the Kurds....if so I think they are smart enough to get more than a handshake or a piece of paper for the deal....the next few days could prove interesting.

Baghdad paralyzed temporary

Shops and markets are closing in memory and honor of Imam al-Kazim

Speakers at London Conference Highlight Iraq Potentials, Challenges

Iraq is seen as an ambitious country, one where there are a number of potentials, but also with that comes expected obstacles as well...their economic growth of 10% is inspiring...however many think and see that corruption within the country has become worse...there is no doubt that trade and investment opportunities abound in Iraq....one just has to weigh the offsets to determine the return that can be expected.

Kurdistan: We will dedicate part of the export of oil imports to the region in accordance with the Constitution

With the Kurd announcement that 1 million barrels of oil left Ceyhan storage tanks last night headed to Europe, the Kurds have embarked on the first of what they call many such shipments of their oil in this manner....

they say they will be banking the revenues from the sale at the Halkbank in Turkey...setting aside 5% of the revenues to pay for Iraqi reparations as is required....they want the world to see they are doing things by the book....

handling the oil, the money in a way that would be expected....they will also designate a portion of the revenue to go to the Kurdish Regional Government.....

does the conflict still exist between Baghdad and the Kurds...you bet it does....
is Baghdad making a big noise over this event....doesn't appear to be at this point....

the Kurds appear to be telling many....."look we can take care of our own business."
