May 03, 2014  Iraq elections: Alliance (chest – Hakim) gets 80 seats

Preliminary results of the Iraqi elections announced by organizations monitoring the elections, the coalition of “state law” led by Prime Minister Nuri al-Maliki won 67 seats,    Full Article & Link at end of comments

Dare To Dream:   If I am not mistaken Hakim / Sadr needed 70 seats to knock him out. According to this article they received 80. Someone correct me if I am wrong. Not sure I fully understand this whole process.

“Sadr al-Hakim” gets a majority within the National Alliance Shiite by 80 seats, compared to 67 seats “for the rule of law.”

Dare To Dream:  I hope someone will confirm what I stated above before we get to excited. I don't think anything in Iraq is guaranteed. JMO.

Lorelai2012:  Dust is something of which the Middle East has no shortage…it will settle…but only until the wind kicks up again.

Dare To Dream:  Yeah, I fully expect a gust of wind. Bobble Head I doubt will go easy. Once again we just have to wait and see. One has to feel good about how this is going so far. Bobble Head always seems to have one last rabbit in his hat. I am sure he will throw a temper tantrum at some point.

Iraq is going to be an economic powerhouse. I just don't see Maliki and his past history being a part of Iraqi's future. If he is, you can bet he will be a constant thorn in one's side.

He should be handcuffed and prosecuted. I wonder when he will actually be relieved of his duties and immunity lifted? Who would want to cut a deal with this man. You might as well commit suicide.

Maliki has a history of setting his own people up to take the fall. I bet the USA has five semi loads of evidence against this fool. What is it with these dictators fighting to the death. They will go so far as to take their own children down with them. Insanity. JMO. I could be wrong.

The Duchess;   I'll be curious to see if Bobble Head actually gets immunity when it becomes official. I just can't for the life of me believe he gets away with the crimes he committed as PM of Iraq....At the very worst IMO, the future in Iraq finally looks bright!   I also think our future looks bright too!!!!!

Countrygal:  I HOPE I AM RIGHT HERE..BUT POSE AND I DID SOME ELECTION TALLYING BEFORE THEY EVEN VOTED AND WE ARE PRETTY SURE THAT THERE IS NO WAY HE CAN GET ENOUGH SEATS..

IF HE DOESNT GET THE SEATS THEN HE IS OUT, THEN IT WOULD BE TO PARTY THAT GOT THE LARGEST VOTES AND IF ITS NOT MALIKI'S PARTY , WE SURELY KNOW THAT THE OTHERS WONT NOMINATE HIM..LOL..

YOU SEE THEY CANT MAKE LARGE BLOCS NOW BUT THEY CAN VOTE WITH EACH OTHER..

SO INSTEAD OF JOINING PER SAY A POLITICAL PARTY AND THEN HAVING TO BASICALLY STAY WITH IT ..THEY CAN JOIN VOTES..

NOW LETS REMEMBER THAT NUJAFI , HAKIM AND SADR SAID NO 3RD TERM..

SO MALIKI HAS HIS BUDDIES OFF TO WASHINGTON AND TO TEHREN TRYING FOR A 3 PETE..THINKING THAT THE U.S. AND IRAN WILL PRESSURE BLOCS AGAIN TO VOTE FOR HIM..NOT GONNA HAPPEN..

I THINK NUJAFI MADE THAT CLEAR TO ALL , ALONG WITH THE OTHERS..THEY HAVE RAN ON THESE CHOICES AND TO TURN BACK NOW WOULD BRING THE COUNTRY TO ITS KNEES..

THESE ELECTIONS WERE HUGE AND THE PEOPLE AND THE CLERICS SAID WHAT THEIR POSITIONS ARE..

WE ALSO HAVE BARZANI SAYING BASICALLY THAT IF YOU GUYS TRY TO GO ANOTHER ROUND WITH MALIKI THEN KURDISTAN WILL SUCCEED...

I THINK THAT WAS HIS HARD LINE RIGHT FROM THE START..THAT IS WHY HE KEPT SAYING WE WILL GO TO OTHER OPTIONS..AND HE MEANS IT,

AND THAT IS WHY HE STARTED PUMPING OIL  TO TURKEY AGAIN..

NOT ONLY FOR THE MONEY BUT TO SHOW EVERYONE THAT HE MEANS BUSINESS...

HE CARES NO MORE WHAT THE OTHERS THINK AND EVEN THE U.S...THAT IS WHY HE DID NOT GO TO WASHINGTON..THAT WAS HIS WAY OF SAYING WE WANT OUR COUNTRY BACK AND I REFUSE TO MEET WITH YOU UNTIL WE ARE ALLOWED TO MAKE OUR OWN DECISIONS..

NOW AS FAR AS VOTES ...LETS JUST SAY FOR THE SAKE OF IT THAT THE STATE LAW MANAGES TO GET ENOUGH SEATS..

IN THE PROCESS OF NOMINATING A PM THAT PM HAS TO PICK HIS COUNCIL OF MINISTERS ..HE HAS 30 DAYS TO DO SO..SO IF WITHIN THAT 30 DAYS HE PICKS HIS MINISTERS...

WELL THE HOUSE HAS TO VOTE ON GIVING HIS GOVERNMENT THAT HE PICKED (WHICH IS THE COUNCIL OF MINISTERS),A VOTE OF CONFIDENCE..

IF NONE OF THEM WANTED MALIKI THERE THEY WILL NOT VOTE AND GIVE CONFIDENCE TO HIS COUNCIL OF MINISTERS ,

AND THEN BOOM..HE IS OUT AND THEY THEN HAVE TO NOMINATE SOMEONE ELSE AND THE PROCESS STARTS AGAIN…………. BUT ONLY TWICE…..

AFTER THAT IF NO ONE IS VOTED OR GIVEN CONFIDENCE TO THEIR COUNCIL OF MINISTERS CHOICES , THEN IT GOES WITH THE TWO CANDIDATES PICKED..

THE 1ST WOULD BE MALIKI AND THEN THE 2ND CHOICE WHOMEVER THAT IS ..THEN THE HOUSE HAS TO VOTE BY A 2/3RDS MAJORITY VOTE FOR THAT CANDIDATE...

SO YOU SEE ITS NOT AN EASY TASK AT ALL FOR MALIKI TO GET BACK INTO OFFICE..

THAT WAS THE WHOLE IDEA OF GOING AROUND THE FEDERAL SUPREME COURT RULING ON THE LAST ELECTION LAW AND BY JUST MAKING A NEW ELECTION LAW ALL TOGETHER..

ANOTHER THING THAT IS REALLY HUGE...87 SEATS WILL GO TO WOMEN...

EXCEPT FOR A COUPLE IF THEY ARE RE-ELECTED, THE MAJORITY OF THOSE WILL NOT VOTE FOR MALIKI  ...HAKIM HAS TAKEN CARE OF THE WOMEN'S RIGHTS ISSUES ALONG WITH SADR..

YOU SEE ...THEY OUT FOXED THE FOX IN HIS OWN HEN HOUSE... ;)

KEJO0396:  Yes...he no longer has the support he once had....no matter how much money he has to bribe and manipulate....the times they are a changing..

Dare To Dream:  Yeppers and they set his party up in the provincial elections as well. Something tells me they are going to whip this dude and the people of Iraq joined right in and are a part of it.

I bet Maliki hasn't been sleeping well the last few nights. See ya later Bobble Head. I hope I am right too. Things do not look good for Bobble Head. He better have a few rabbits in his hat.

These boys might have a couple of other alternatives to throw at Maliki as well. They are not going to let this opportunity pass them by. They have him on the ropes. Now deliver the knock out punch.   JMO

BlueyesinLevis;   FIGURES MAY MAKE AL-MALIKI IN THE WIND!    05/03/2014

AUTHOR: Zuhair Al-Dujaili | Ahead of the Iraqi elections, which took place on April 30, held a coalition of state law, which is headed by the current governor Nuri al-Maliki, a survey for electoral purposes;

to see the level of winning leader. It concluded that al-Maliki is the prime minister for a third term, despite his opponents.

And support this conclusion by saying that he would get around 95 seats, and will be able to forge alliances with lists of winners in order to get 168 seats out of a total of 328 to qualify for the award ministry!

But the results, which traded official observers from polling stations after a preliminary screening operations, indicated to the contrary wishes of Maliki's bloc:

«Maliki's list between 64 and 67 seats», «Supreme Council between 48 and 50», «Sadrists between 33 and 34», giving the alliance more than 82 seats, making the fortune-Maliki in the running by the Shiite alliance is weak.

Even if Maliki's coalition with a list of al-Jaafari, which is said to have got 10 seats, and a list of the Virtue Party, which won 7 seats, it is estimated that brings together voices from being able to overcome his opponents, who may constitute a parliamentary majority cut by the road.

Even if nominated by the Shiite alliance, the most important powers in the coalition, namely the Supreme Council and the Sadrists, she spent confidence in him, and Haita four candidates replacements for him.

In contrast, the other menus (liberal and Sunni) opposition to him (united, headed by Osama Najafi 33-34 seats), and «National List led by Iyad Allawi, 24-26», and «Arab List led by Saleh al-Mutlaq 10-11», and « Civil Alliance Democratic Leftist 10-12 »

This may be collected 80 seats added to the many naysayers to Maliki's nomination.

In addition, seats Kurds reject him: «Barzani's party 20 seats and 14 party Talabani and the MDC 15 Islamists and Kurds (two seats)», it will be many who will stand Kurdish lawmakers generally Maliki nearly 52.

Bjrdh and refusing to account for the owners in the new parliament will number about 215, making it in the wind, in contrast to surveys conducted by the Dawa Party, the ruling figures and statements released by Iranian television promising Maliki before opening any of the polls, which raised eyebrows.

Despite what we have said from the numbers is the result of codes of official observers at polling stations, the final figures did not show, may reduce or increase what we mentioned one or two seats.

The decrease of more than five, which earned him al-Maliki, because of the excesses of state law proven tapes and recordings sham emphasizes the use of campaign Maliki bribery money and land, ranks and other inducements to voters,

which will trigger a major crisis between the Election Commission, which opened an investigation, and between al-Maliki, who wants a third mandate in any price despite the difficulty of it.

Rvdinar08:  Thanks Blue for another great article, everything tells us Maliki is finished, I hope he fades away and just leaves so that country can just move on without him ASAP! They have suffered and been held up for 8 more years of nonsense which is really ashame! I truly hope Maliki and his son get what's coming to them, Sharistani that dirtbag as well, all three need to be a swinging!

BlueyesinLevis:   It would be so refreshing to see Maliki just flee.. stay in Iran and never go back....  The sun would just seem to shine a little brighter....  168 is the magic number.... and this article says the Alliance has 215 when you include the Kurds...  yippeee..
