Blasting off. Breaking wind. Cutting the cheese. Anal acoustics. Prison break. Butt trumpet. The one-cheek sneak. Backdoor breeze. Shooting the cannon. 
There are funny expressions galore for that embarrassing little thing we all do...
As a matter of fact, the average person passes gas 13 times a day.
The amounts can vary from a pint to a half-gallon or more.  (Please don't ask me how they measure that—the mental picture I get isn’t pretty.)
I went to a Catholic elementary school and whenever a kid would let one go in class, Sister Catherine Joseph would just smile and say, "It's natural, children!"
Yes, it IS natural in small amounts. Gas is a natural by-product of the digestive process.
But excessive gas is quite another thing...and it’s usually an indicator of T-R-O-U-B-L-E in your innards.
Let’s get close and personal with gas and see where you might fall on the “gas-o-meter” as well as talk about ways to “clear the air” if your butt is trumpeting a little too much.
How to tell normal from excessive gas
First, it’s important to know if your gas habits are normal or excessive
It’s easy to do.  Just use your eyes, your nose and your calculator.
Excessive gas usually causes bloating, abdominal distention and discomfort (as in buttons popping off your pants or having trouble breathing because they're so tight in the waist).
Look down. If your gut frequently resembles a basketball or people ask you when you’re due (but you’re not pregnant), you're most assuredly bloated and full of gas.
Plus excessive gas stinks really, REALLY bad. It can also come out "the upper end" as bad breath too, even when you haven't eaten things like onions or garlic.
So if your farts clear out the room and even gag the dog, trust me, they smell bad.
Then there's the simple numbers game. If you blow past the 13-fart daily average by 9:00 in the morning, chances are good your gas is excessive, which, again is an indicator of something bad going on inside you.
And that is not funny at all.
What can excessive gas mean?
Different types of excessive gas can mean different things:
  • Gas and belching during or immediately after eating may be a hydrochloric acid deficiency in your stomach or a food allergy.
  • Gas within 1 - 1 1/2 hours after eating suggests harmful bacteria overgrowth in your gut.
  • Belching that worsens after eating fatty foods may be indicative of gallbladder problems.
  • Gas with foul smelling stools may suggest malabsorption of nutrients or pancreatic dysfunction.
  • Belching that increases when you bend over or lie down (with or without your stomach contents coming up into your mouth) is a sure sign of acid reflux.
  • And last but not least, excessive gas with diarrhea or constipation is an indication of colitis, diverticulosis/itis or IBS (irritable bowel syndrome).
How to quiet YOUR anal acoustics
First and foremost, it's important to see a doctor to rule out a condition that may require medical intervention.
But once you're sure nothing serious is wrong and you're just loaded with more gas than a Sunoco station, chances are excellent that you can quiet your anal acoustics and become much more pleasant to be around if you address these 3 very common causes of excessive gas:
1-      Eating meals that are next-to-impossible for your body to break down  
It's no wonder so many people are gas masters.

I’ve had attacks/flair ups since I was 18 years old with what I thought at the time was appendicitis, I now know differently. Now that John has decided to limit "Guru" Dinar postings to once per day, I think these gas symptoms are going to be reduced naturally for a great deal of us!
