First 'Obamastation'

As the battle over Obamacare rages in Washington, the White
House is quietly using a little known provision of the law to roll out a
nationwide network of free gas stations for minorities and the poor.
According to a report
in The Detroit News this morning, the administration is
using its authority under the Affordable Care Act to "improve
transportation routes to hospitals" to dispense gasoline free of cost in
disadvantaged neighborhoods.
The $2 billion-a-year
program aims to distribute 40 million gallons of free gasoline each year
through 70 new gas stations constructed in major metropolitan areas. The
Department of Health and Human Services (DHS) will be responsible for operating
the network, whose first station opened yesterday in Detroit.
"It's not something
we're publicizing very much, for obvious reasons," explains Dori
Salcido, assistant DHS secretary for public affairs. "But under the
law we are well within our rights to offer this service, and we think it's good
public policy.
"How are people
supposed to get to the doctor's office if they don't have gas in their
cars? Health insurance is worthless if you can't make your appointment.
This is just another fine example of government stepping in and solving big
problems."

No Gas for You
Although some developing
oil-rich nations like Venezuela and Indonesia subsidize gasoline for the poor,
the practice has never before been tried in the United States. The plans are
proving controversial with some taxpayers who are loathe to see their money go
to subsidize others.
"So basically I'm
being punished for not living in the ghetto," says Colin Blair, a white
person from the affluent Detroit suburb of Farmington Hills. "I have three
kids and a mortgage. Life isn't cheap for me either. I could use some free
gasoline too."
An investigation into
the station's operations, however, reveals that Blair is unlikely to be able to
use the service.
"Supposedly access
to the station is determined by income," says Ebony Jackson, manager
of the first Obamastation. "But it's pretty unrealistic to do an income
check on each and every driver. So what we do is basically let all the black
people pump for free, and charge all the white people the market rate."
The Obamastations
scandal was uncovered by Nolan Finley , a conservative Detroit News columnist
widely lauded for his groundbreaking
exposé on Obamaphones. Finley says the blatant racial bias in the
program is only one of its many outrageous aspects.
"The stations have
Obama campaign logo on them and giant photos of the president," he
explains. "He's trying to buy votes ahead of the midterm elections. This
is something you normally only see in third world countries. I've never been
more scared for our democracy."

The minority and poor wait that sounds like most white people now in America who are'nt rich. The only people multiplying are Mexicans and south Americans, This Obama has to go hes rediculously obvious and racist as well.

This is from a satirical website. As a longtime reader who has seen multiple articles from this source on here, I would recommend a little more research before publishing absurd articles such as this.

I find it very hard to think this is a good example of the Gov stepping in and solving problems. If you will notice, they are in the. . . cities. . . which are generally very well covered by PUBLIC TRANSPORTATION that is *already* being paid for by Gov is some way. The only thing good about this is that now they can afford to drive their new SUVs and Cadillacs with their oversized shiny salad-shooter wheels that likely cost more apiece than my entire vehicle, to the doctor on MY TAX MONEY while I am forced to pay for my gas to drive my late 70's, stock vehicle to the doctor or anywhere else I want to go. Plus, if those people have to spend that much time at the doctors' office in the first place they have PROBLEMS. I go to the doctor very little. . . well, I can't even remember the last time I went to the doctor myself, but here is a station that will dispense fuel for FREE to people JUST I N CASE they happen to have to go to the doctor sometime.

This is RIDICULOUS! There are just as many poor people that are white as there are that are black, hispanic, asian, whatever. To serve only the blacks is absolutely PREJUDICE at it's finest. There are a LOT of blacks that are in agreement with me on this. They are hard-working, pay their way, and are just as fed up with the low-life entitlement crowd as I am.
The ONLY way this could possibly have a chance at being a good thing is if the manager was held accountable for the "free" fuel that is dispensed. If you base it on income, you had BETTER VERIFY EVERYONE! But then who draws the line? Does the manager? Does the higher management? Once that line is drawn, who has the right to require a private citizen to fork over their PERSONAL INFORMATION just to obtain fuel? This has SOCIALISM written ALL OVER IT!
Now I know there are going to be those "entitlement"ers that are going to say that if you don't like it, get your fuel somewhere else but that does nothing for the poor people who can't afford to go somewhere else because they aren't black. (not my prejudice, I an referring to the poster of the original article).
People WAKE UP! This is doing absolutely nothing to help those entitlement junkies to remain on entitlements and not become something in their lives. Doctor or no doctor. Public transportation works GREAT. Everyone paying for their own fuel works GREAT. Maybe those entitlement-ers should get rid of the SUVs and Cadillacs with the oversized salad-shooter wheels and be forced to make concessions to drive something more fitting of their income and status.
Call me prejudice if you want, but before you do, I know what it means to be poor. The entitlement crowd really has no idea what it means to be poor even though their income is also below the poverty line because they get all the entitlements because they are black, hispanic or simply just lie to the system or pump out another baby when they need a raise.
Free gas. . . what a JOKE. If I lived in Detroit or any of the 70 plus cities they are going to do this in, I would make SURE the people getting gas there was indeed needing gas to get to the doctor. No violence, just accountability.

This is beyond appaling. And of course as government budgets go, this will definitely balloon past the two billion per year cost to us. They have to underestimate in order to get these offensive programs passed.
