The Ugly Truth:

The Man With The Israeli Accent–USS LIBERTY Survivor’s Life Threatened by Mossad on American Soil While Uncle Sam Yawns

 

 

 

 

 

 

One would think that in this post 9/11 age that a direct, face-to-face threat against the life of a decorated American war hero by someone claiming to be an agent working for a Middle Eastern country tied to previous acts of terrorism against the US would rouse some concern.

That is of course, unless the country from which this foreign agent hails is Israel and the war hero being threatened is a survivor of the USS LIBERTY, attacked by the Jewish state in 1967, leading to the deaths of 34 American servicemen.

As surreal as it sounds (again, in this post 9/11 age) this nevertheless is exactly what transpired to Phillip F. Tourney, decorated war hero and survivor of Israel’s deliberate and pre-meditated attack upon his ship USS LIBERTY 43 years ago, when on the evening of Friday, August 6, he was verbally threatened by a foreign national claiming to work for the government of Israel.

No stranger to threats, Tourney has been subjected over the years to a smorgasboard of such business resulting from his refusal to remain silent concerning the deliberate attack on his ship 43 years ago and the subsequent cover-up nursed along every day since. These threats have included middle-of-the-night phone calls where the names of his children and grandchildren have been read aloud, guns were fired a mere few inches from the phone’s receiver, swastikas painted on his home and, more recently, 2 occasions where the lugnuts on both his trucks were loosened, resulting in both vehicles being totaled in ensuing crashes.

What makes this most recent threat more ominous in its nature (and indicating that the same interests responsible for murdering his shipmates 43 years ago are beginning to take Tourney’s “activism” these days more serious than before) is that this time it took place in a manner “up close and personal,” meaning in a face-to-face encounter in the lounge of a Holiday Inn located in Southern California.

Vacationing the first week of August with Lisa, his wife of almost 30 years, as he sat in the lounge one Friday, August 6th evening, the seat to his immediate right was taken up by a well-dressed man speaking with an Israeli accent who wanted to strike up a conversation about–of all things–the USS LIBERTY. According to both Tourney and his wife, the man in question was in his mid-40’s, well-dressed and carried himself in a very “professional” way. Within seconds of the discussion’s beginning, the Israeli national referred to the LIBERTY as “that horse transport” (the lame excuse Israel has maintained these last 43 years in “mistaking” the USS LIBERTY for the El Quesir, an Egyptian horse ferry ¼ the size) thus conveying the message to Tourney that his new-found friend was indeed an official from the Israeli government. Tourney asked the man what he did, only to be told that he was a “doctor”. When Tourney challenged him to produce a business card, the “doctor” said he didn’t carry them, not bothering to disguise the slight smirk on his face underscoring the deliberate farcical nature of his response.

Obviously trying to get Tourney unhinged (no doubt in the interests of creating a public scene that might eventually turn violent and leading to Tourney’s high-profile/media-intensive arrest) the Israeli then went on discussing the June 8, 1967 butchering of 34 Americans by the government of Israel in mocking, taunting tones.

During the initial few moments of the verbal exchange, the man with the Israeli accent–wearing an outlandishly-over-sized watch–repeatedly put the watch menacingly and directly in Tourney’s face as if he–the Israeli–were a news reporter shoving a microphone in the face of a prospective interviewee. Tourney recognized immediately what was going on, indicated he knew he was being taped and told the man to get the watch out of his face.

Again, it can be assumed the man with the Israeli accent was trying to provoke Tourney into some sort of physical action that would result in the police showing up and subsequent newspaper headlines damaging to the USS LIBERTY cause such as DERANGED USS LIBERTY SURVIVOR ASSAULTS MILD-MANNERED JEWISH DOCTOR AND SON OF HOLOCAUST SURVIVOR IN HOTEL LOUNGE.

Finally, unable to provoke Tourney into throwing that hoped-for first punch, from there the dialogue turned into something right out of an episode of the gangster mini-series The Sopranos. After telling Tourney that the men of the USS LIBERTY “got what they deserved that day”, the man with the Israeli accent admitted he was in fact not a doctor but rather an employee of the same people who murdered the men aboard the LIBERTY 43 years ago. Tourney asked the man what he did specifically, to which the response over and over was “many things” and “I do whatever my government asks of me”.The Israeli national then went on to say that his bosses were “not happy” with some of Tourney’s recent “activities“. He mentioned specifically the radio programs Tourney has either hosted or appeared on in recent years as well as the book he recently co-authored along with independent journalist Mark Glenn entitled “What I Saw That Day…Israel’s 1967 Holocaust of American Servicemen Aboard the USS LIBERTY and Its Aftermath”. The man made clear the fact that his government–the government of Israel–planned on putting a stop to all of this sooner rather than later, adding that “We plan to pay a visit to your friend Mark Glenn soon as well”.

At this point, Tourney, wanting to keep the man with the Israeli accent talking as much as possible, then asked how he planned upon silencing him. Was he (Tourney) going to be shot right there in the lounge in front of all present witnesses, and if not, when and where? The man with the Israeli accent merely maintained the same smirk on his face he had displayed before. Tourney then asked him when the next war was going to start, to which the foreign agent replied “Soon…My sources tell me between 30 and 60 days” and to which Tourney responded with another question “And what about me?”, to which the man with the Israeli accent smilingly responded with “You are on the same list as the Iranians.”At this point, Tourney’s wife Lisa, hearing what was taking place a mere few feet off to her right and experiencing for the first time the kind of threats that her husband has endured for decades (but which he never shared with her) decided she had heard enough. She got up from her seat, went around her husband so she could stare eye to eye with her husband’s would-be murderer and let loose in the way any devoted wife would–She referred to the man with the Israeli accent as the devil and told him he had no right to do what he was doing, asking him who he thought he was threatening Americans in such a way.

At this point, the elevated discussion was obviously attracting attention from the other patrons in the lounge and as if on cue, the man with the Israeli accent fawned surprise, shock and contrition, loudly protesting with apologies, all the more so as to make Tourney and his wife appear irrational, irascible and out of control and he the innocent victim. Shortly afterwards, hotel security showed up and the Tourneys left the lounge.

Tourney’s first action upon arriving at his hotel room was to call the aforementioned co-author of his book Mark Glenn and relate to him what took place and make him aware of the fact that threats had been made against both of them personally by a foreign national claiming to work for the government of Israel.

The following Monday, a visit to the FBI office in Coeur D’Alene, Idaho was made by Glenn where he met for close to an hour with a special agent and described in as much detail as he was capable of delivering the events of the prior Friday evening. According to Glenn, the agent doing the interview was courteous and professional but at an obvious disadvantage in terms of the nature of what had just taken place, as he seemed to have no working knowledge concerning the slaughter of Americans aboard the USS LIBERTY or even with violent Jewish groups tied to Israel’s Mossad operating in the U.S. such as the JDL or JDO, despite the fact that both organizations are categorized by both the US Justice Department and the US State Department as some of the most dangerous terrorist organizations operating on American soil.

Tourney fared no better in his encounter with the FBI in his hometown in relating what took place. According to Tourney, the agent taking down the report gravitated between boredom and aggravation at his being forced to deal with such business, although he indicated he would contact the Coeur D’Alene office and “compare notes”.

As of the moment of this writing, no follow-up calls have been paid by either FBI office to either parties filing this complaint.

The obvious (which needs no mention but will be nonetheless) are the political realities surrounding this event. If the roles of the various players involved with this event were slightly different, in that they featured an American (war hero or not) being threatened by agents of a foreign country in the Middle East (not Israel) it would make headline news all over the world. Law enforcement officials from virtually every federal agency down to and including the FDA would be pulled off other pressing details in order to bring the full resources of the US government to bear in dealing with the situation and all other news would take a back seat as Americans would be fed a constant din of noise surrounding the latest ”terrorist” threat from the Middle East.

However, just as the world learned in the days and weeks following 9/11, where scores of Israeli intelligence officers (some in circumstances as “interesting” as filming the destruction of the Twin Towers and cheering and others arrested while driving an explosives-laden van around New York City) were apprehended by U.S. law enforcement personnel and then quietly sent back to Israel, the Jewish state can literally get away with mass murder against Americans and nothing will be done. Whether it is the attack on the USS LIBERTY, Israel’s role in 9/11 or the fact that two American families were threatened with death by the government of the Jewish state, Israel and her paid assassins are given a free pass out the back door to a waiting getaway vehicle after their crimes have been committed.

Several likely factors as to why Israel has suddenly taken such an interest (and gotten nervous) about the activities of USS LIBERTY survivor Phil Tourney can be summed up as follows–

First, the criminals responsible for the planned mass-murder of American servicemen, having enjoyed over 40 years of relative silence on the issue of the LIBERTY, in the last few years however have renewed reasons to be concerned over the amount of discussion taking place as of late, and in large part due to the near-singular efforts of USS LIBERTY survivor Phil Tourney. A mere few months after the debut of The Liberty Hour, a 2-hour program devoted to discussing the attack on the LIBERTY and bringing it into context with current events, the number of persons learning for the first time about the most shameful cover-up in US history (9/11 being the only possible exception) has increased exponentially. When the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Adm. Mike Mullen broaches the topic with his Israeli counterpart, Lt. Gen Gabi Ashkenazi as he did 2 years ago, making it clear to him that it was the position of the US government that there be no “USS LIBERTY Pt II”, then those who have enjoyed the conspiracy of silence surrounding this event realize that their protective shield may be wearing thin.

More important than this however is the very real likelihood that members of the intelligence community–with access to information that would obliterate the excuse Israel has maintained these last 43 years concerning the “mistaken identity” of the LIBERTY with the aforementioned Egyptian horse ferry–will eventually come forward with footage–audio as well as video–that has been locked away in secret vaults in NSA and CIA proving Israel knew the LIBERTY was an American ship. The more discussion taking place in the American mainstream of the LIBERTY story, the more encouraged certain individuals may be to come forward with secrets they have kept hidden away for 4 decades. One need look no further than former Chief Legal Council for the US Navy Capt. Ward Boston, who oversaw the cover-up on behalf of then President Lyndon Johnson but then came forward in the last years of his life and admitted he was ordered to rule the attack a “mistake”, all evidence to the contrary be damned. How many other Ward Bostons are out there, just waiting for the right moment to come forward?

Furthermore, now that “respectable” people from within the US intelligence community such as former CIA analyst Ray McGovern and former CIA agent Phillip Giraldi have begun speaking about the LIBERTY in the kind of clear, open language that should have encompassed its discussion years ago, it is no longer relegated as the stomping grounds of “anti-Semitic conspiracy theorists” and “nut-jobs“, something that for obvious reasons would have Israel worried.

Last is the fact Americana Pictures has just finished the first draft of a screenplay based loosely and not-so-loosely on the events as recounted in Tourney’s new book. The president of Americana Pictures, Merlin Miller, a graduate of West Point Academy, in addition to having spent many years working in Hollywood has also directed and produced several of his own films and has now made the project of producing and directing a new film telling the story of what took place with Israel’s attack on the USS LIBERTY his main priority.

US Border Patrol Helicopter Shot At From Mexico Side, Chopper Makes Emergency Landing In Texas

A United States Border Patrol helicopter was fired on from the Mexican side of the border and forced to make an emergency landing in Texas on Friday, U.S. authorities said. The helicopter was flying over an area, infamous for illegal border crossings and drug smuggling, CNN reported.
“Our helicopter actually landed in Laredo and there were no injuries,” the U.S. Customs and Border Protection said, according to CNN, which added that it was not clear if the gunfire hit the helicopter.
However, there are contradicting reports about the gunfire. According to Laredo Morning Times, which cited Webb County Sheriff Martin Cuellar, five shots are believed to have been fired in the direction of the helicopter, and two of those hit it. Laredo is the county seat of Webb County.
The Border Patrol called the Laredo Police on Friday, telling them that “one of their helicopters had received gunfire,” CNN reported, citing Joe Baeza, a police spokesman.
A report by the Associated Press cited Sara Melendez, the spokeswoman for Border Patrol, saying that the helicopter had landed safely.

A mysterious website has come to the 

attention of vigilant obervers. It 

describes itself as a cross-reference of 

openly-available thank-tank predictions 

from numerous branches of the US 

military, the IMF and others.

In October 2014, there was a spate of 

amateur YouTube videos, which showed 

openly-available pages on the Deagel.com 

website, predicting everything for every 

country, including the collapse of the 

Western banking system with an attendant 

decline in the US population from 318M to 

78M by 2025.

The Deagel Report also said that by 2025, 

the US economy would go from ranking 

#1 largest, to 13th in the world.

The new #1 would be China and #2 would 

be Brazil, the latter with a sudden gain of 

20M gain in its population, due to migration, 

as its current population growth is likely 

lower than that of the US and that most of 

the gain would come from people fleeing 

the north.

Being half-Brazilian, I found this information 

to be particularly interesting and I checked 

back on this site over the past several weeks.

Recently, I saw a revision of their prediction, 

with 10M less of a population reduction in the

US and 5M less of a population increase in 

Brazil - but when I went to check on their site, 

last Saturday, to gather information to run a 

story about it on FKTV, I was shocked to be 

met by a screen that told me that my IP was 

on a list of those who'd been, like the creator 

of this video, barred from viewing the contents 

of their website, with the presenter of this video!

Luckily, I was able to access an April 16th cent.

archive of the pertinent pages of their site, from 

Archive.org. In that prediction, India had taken 

over Brazil, for the #2 spot, which is only fair, 

since they'll have more than 6X the population.

Whatver Jade Helm is, I think that more than 

likely, it is a infrastructural preparation for an 

imminent financial collpase, in the Western 

economy, where people are going to be 

"wilding" in the streets, for lack of work, 

money, water and and food...

I’ll be up front with you and say that this video is disturbing.
It’s like a bucket of ice-cold water thrown in the face of the dream world that most people are walking through.
Watching riots on TV in places like Baltimore and Ferguson, it’s easy to think, “That couldn’t happen here. All that police violence only happens in poor communities.”
Guess again.
This weekend it was the safe, quiet suburb of McKinney, Texas, about 30 minutes outside of Dallas.
McKinney is no gang-infested slum; it’s an affluent bedroom community with an average household income over $96,000 according to Colliers International.
(Having grown up just a few miles away, I would add that it’s pretty sterile too, full of big-box retailers, megaplex cinemas, and chain restaurants.)
Over the weekend some local kids were having a summer pool party to celebrate a friend’s birthday.
With that many adolescents crammed together in one place, there was undoubtedly some silly teenage drama going on. And police were called to the scene.
One of them starts off almost immediately screaming profanity-laden tirades at the kids, many as young as 14.
This courageous officer’s advice to young people included such gems as “Sit your asses down,” and “Don’t make me fuckin’ run around with 30 pounds of goddamn gear on. . .”
At one point throws a girl to the ground who had apparently failed to ‘get her ass out of here’ with appropriate alacrity.
You can see him grab her neck and attempt to shove her face into the pavement.

The kids all start screaming. Two of them rush over to try and help their classmate, at which point Captain America pulls his gun out and advances menacingly towards them.
They bolt. So he turns his attention back to the girl, grabs her head once again, and screams “ON YOUR FACE!!!” as he pins her down on the ground and puts her in handcuffs.
It’s really disturbing to watch.
Had it been a parent trying to grind his kid’s face into the pavement, Child Protective Services would have immediately removed the girl from the home and the father would be rotting in jail this very moment.
But when a police officer does it, he goes on ‘leave’. And only when he’s unlucky enough to be caught on camera.
If some random stranger grabbed your child and started attacking her, you’d instantly turn into Bruce Lee and put the guy in a Kung-Fu death grip.
But when a police officer attacks your child, the government expects you to just stand around and watch.
That’s one of the most disturbing things from the video.
You’ll see there are a bunch of adults in the video milling around with their hands in their pockets while the kids get abused.
I appreciate they’re doing whatever they feel like they can do to make the best of a bad situation.
But they’ve been indoctrinated for so long that their reaction is to be obedient and submissive. They don’t interfere with ‘the law’. They know their place and they act like it.
The kids, on the other hand, are all still young enough that they haven’t totally subordinated themselves to the state. There’s still a part of them that’s free.
So when the cops get totally out of control, their instinct is to fight back.
That is, after all, our natural instinct– to be free.
We have to -learn- to be intimidated and subservient to the state. We have to learn to stand around with our hands in our pockets while our children are abused. And that learning takes place in none other than the public school system.
I checked the McKinney Independent School District’s website and found that these kids all recite the Pledge of Allegiance in the morning, including that part about “liberty and justice for all.”
They sing songs gushing about freedom in America. But they just got a taste of how free they really are.
Hopefully that lesson stays with them. It’s certainly more powerful that an entire semester of the mandatory civics class they have to take.
After watching the video I actually downloaded a copy of the staple civics textbook Magruder’s American Government, and found a rather prescient passage in the first chapter:
“This nation was founded by those who loved liberty and prized it above all earthly possessions.”
True statement. But that instinctive flame to be free has gone out for so many people, not only in America but across the world.
And no nation can rise again until that flame is rekindled.
The textbook continues:
“To preserve and protect [their rights and liberty], each generation must learn and understand them anew, and be willing to stand up for them when necessary.”
Perhaps that time is finally coming.

Court Ruling Could Shut Down Detention Centers for Illegal Immigrants

SAN ANTONIO (AP) — After tens of thousands of migrant families, most from Central America, crossed the Rio Grande into Texas last summer, the government poured millions of dollars into two large detention centers meant to hold women and children — and keep more from coming.

But as U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement expands the centers to make space for the next wave of arrivals, the agency faces legal and political challenges that could shut them down. And a new flow of migrants raises questions as to whether the strategy has deterred migration at all.

One center is a purpose-built, 50-acre campus in Dilley, an hour’s drive southwest of San Antonio. Another, smaller center is tucked among derricks in Karnes City. They will be able to house some 3,400 migrants once they reach full capacity, just a fraction of those crossing, leaving ICE with few options besides releasing many with notices to appear in court, as it did in the past.

Some 130 House Democrats and 33 senators have called on the government to halt family detention, while a federal judge in California has tentatively ruled that the policy violates parts of an 18-year-old court settlement that says immigrant children cannot be held in secure facilities. ICE responded by pledging to improve its centers while it awaits the judge’s ruling. Source: Breitbart

Bilderberg 2015: Police Harass Reporters, Search Vehicle, Visit Hotel

Checkpoints set up six miles away from site of elitist confab

Infowars reporters Rob Dew and cameraman Josh Owens were harassed by Austrian federal police at a checkpoint six miles away from where the secretive Bilderberg Group will meet later this week, with cops even visiting them at their hotel to check their passports.

Dew and Owens arrived in Telfs near to where the globalist confab is taking place to discover an unprecedented security operation in full swing days before Bilderberg members even arrive at the remote location in the Austrian alps.

Attempting to drive to their hotel, the two were quickly apprehended at a checkpoint a short distance up the mountain from Telfs where their passports, drivers license and booking papers were checked by police, who then demanded to perform a full inspection of their rented vehicle.

Dew and Owens were then confronted by police as they tried to access their hotel before subsequently being approached by no less than eight federal police who again asked to check their passports and interrogated the reporters.

As we previously reported, police are already patrolling hike and bike trails well away from the luxury Interalpen-Hotel Tyrol where the Bilderberg Group meeting begins on Thursday.

There used to be a street named after Chuck Norris, but it was changed because nobody crosses Chuck Norris and lives.

Let’s hope that the federal government doesn’t cross Chuck Norris, who is really irked at the spendthrift ways in which Washington conducts our business.

In an article he wrote for WND, the legendary action star came out in favor of an Article V constitutional convention, in which the states could come out in force to finally control federal fiscal insanity.

Wrote Norris:

“Washington’s out-of-control outlays remind me of the words of President Ronald Reagan, who said, ‘We could say they spend money like drunken sailors, but that would be unfair to drunken sailors. It would be unfair, because the sailors are spending their own money.  A constitutional balanced budget amendment, or BBA, is not a new idea, and neither is the states’ push for such legislation.

“However, what could be new to many Americans is just how close its enactment is to becoming reality. Unknown to many, 25 states have already called for the convention to add the BBA, and only nine more states (34 in total, or two-thirds) are required to force the convention.”

Many state legislators are fearful of a BBA because they fear “that it would put the U.S. economy in further jeopardy during recessions or years with lower federal revenue by forcing policymakers to cut spending, raise taxes or both; hence, ultimately leading to higher deficits and a weaker economy, or so they say.”

But Washington’s current path of spending is unsustainable, and is a threat to our national security. According to University of Colorado economist Barry Poulson,“The Congressional Budget Office projects that under current law over the next 25 years federal spending will increase to 36 percent of national income.”

Norris believes, as do many economists, that we cannot ait any longer to rein in our national spending.  He wrote, “If we wait another decade to constrain spending the task of balancing the federal budget becomes insurmountable. By then the economy will be stagnating; and eliminating deficits will require that federal spending be cut in half, something that will never happen.”

SPECIAL REPORT

As of today's date, (June 8, 2015), 9 days have passed since Secretary of State John Kerry "broke his femur bone" while "bike-riding" in France. We here at The Anti-New York Times (Sugar the Cat and myself) do not traffic in unsubstantiated Internet rumors and hearsay. For that reason, we ignored the early stories about Kerry having been shot and gravely injured in an ISIS (i.e. Israel) assassination attempt.

But after thorough daily searches of the Internet, we have yet to find a single post-"bike accident" photo or video clip of John Kerry. Though a broken femur would be a serious injury, it would not prevent him from waving to a camera as he's being carted out of an ambulance into a Boston hospital; or saying a few words from a hospital bed; or being wheel-chaired to the funeral of Vice President Joe Biden's son. Heck, your reporter here recalls his elderly father groggily cracking jokes from his hospital bed the day after he had triple bypass surgery!

There are stories of Kerry recovering in a Boston hospital, but we have seen neither hide nor hair of the chatty Secretary. Attention-seeking politicians like him adore the spotlight. Why can't he give a "thumbs-up" for the cameras? Why hasn't his famous busy-body wife publicly commented on this? Where is the media on this? When Vladimir Putin disappears for an extended bathroom break, the Western Press is rife with conspiracy theories about his "disappearance". Not so in this case. What's going on here?

Now, this is still an hypothesis at this point (though a pretty damn strong one as each day passes), but could it be that "the usual suspects" have had enough of Kerry's chumminess with Iran, pressure on Israel, and pressure on the gangsters of Kiev to stop fighting? This is certainly not to portray FrankenKerry as some sort of heroic American patriot; far from it. But the fact is, in spite of public anti-Russian posturing, Kerry and Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov maintained a professional working relationship and achieved some degree of positive progress with regard to both Iran and Ukraine. Remember, it was Kerry-Lavrov who diffused the push for the 2013 war on Syria (a back door to a war with Iran).

You see, Kerry is indeed an ultra-liberal dirty-dealing scumbag of the lowest rank. However, he is a pragmatic scumbag. As such, the possibility of nuclear Armageddon was never an idea he was all that crazy about. Yes, liberal scoundrels love their children too! 

And it is equally true that the certifiably insane Neo-Con faction of America's ruling PRC (Predatory Ruling Class) and the George Soros Globalist faction both want World War 3, and soon! Kerry's oh-so-conveeeenient "bike accident" and sudden disappearance have catapulted Assistant Secretary of State for European & Eurasian Affairs Victoria Nuland (Nudelman) Kagan to de-facto headship of the State Department. In a sense, this had already happened before the "bike accident". The reluctant Europeans now know that they are taking orders from neo-con warmonger Nuland, not Kerry.

Kerry and Lavrov sought to pacify the situation in Iran and Eastern Ukraine. Compare that to the relentless warmongering of Israeli agent Victoria "F--k the EU" Nuland (the fiend who helped to PERSONALLY incite the bloody Kiev coup of 2014) and the latest "bike accident" is very good news for the warmongers.

In much the same way that the reasonable and pragmatic Secretary of Offense Chuck Hagel was cast aside and replaced by the blood-thirsty warmonger Asston Carter; Kerry is being squeezed out by the PNAC  "We-need-a-new-Pearl-Harbor" psycho Nuland-Kagan.

As crazy as this well-wishing may sound coming from The Anti-New York Times, here it goes: "Mr. Kerry. You are still a scumbag Globalist. Nonetheless, gunshot wounds or "broken leg" - whatever it was - please get better. And get back to work before Vicious Vicky and Ass Carter start World War III!"

    

The "dove" Hagel was bumped off in favor of the "hawk" Carter. Likewise, the "dove" Kerry is being squeezed out by his "subordinate" Nuland (the body language says it all).

The longest floating structure in world history is about to hit the ocean to fix a very big problem.

In 2016, "the longest floating structure in world history" will be placed in the ocean.

Don't worry — it's not another super yacht or party barge or some other contraption that will further pollute the ocean.

Nope, this is a good thing.

It's called The Ocean Cleanup, and it's a 1.2-mile-long system designed to collect and remove plastic from the ocean.

For two years, it will hang out in the ocean hopefully to begin undoing what we've done for decades: polluted the heck out of the water with plastic trash.

It's basically a stationary array of barriers that uses the ocean's natural currents to collect the plastic at a central location.

When I first wrote about The Ocean Cleanup a year ago, I thought it was something that moved through the ocean, collecting trash as it went. But that's not how it works at all.

Here's how it works:

"Why move through the oceans, if the oceans can move through you? Instead of going after the plastic using boats and nets, The Ocean Cleanup will use long floating barriers, using the natural movement of the ocean currents to passively concentrate the plastic itself. "

"Virtually all of the current flows underneath these booms, taking away all (neutrally buoyant) sea life, preventing by-catch, while the lighter-than-water plastic collects in front of the floating barrier."

"The scalable array of floating barriers, attached to the seabed, is designed for large-magnitude deployment, covering millions of square kilometers without moving a centimeter."

The plan is to deploy The Ocean Cleanup near Tsushima, an island between Japan and South Korea, and let it do its thing for two years. Then the next step is to use all the plastic junk it collects as an alternate energy source.
Talk about killing two birds with one stone. (Although, this is quite the opposite of killing birds, so ... bad metaphor).

Unfortunately, the ocean is suuuper polluted.

A lot of that pollution is plastic trash — 8 million tons of plastic end up in the ocean every single year.
Right now, about 5.25 trillion pieces of plastic are floating around the ocean.

And pollution, as we know, causes many environmental, economic, and health problems. For example, plastic kills over 1 million seabirds and 100,000 marine mammals every year. (That's awful.)
The animals it doesn't kill are often left deformed, as was the case with Peanut the turtle, whose shell was warped after she got stuck in a six-pack plastic ring. The same thing happened to this poor guy too.
Plastic pollution is expensive! Plastic in the oceans costs companies across the world over $13 billion a year and the U.S. government hundreds of millions in coastal cleanup efforts. Wouldn't it be great if we could spend that $13 billion elsewhere?

Removing plastic trash from the ocean has been a huge struggle. But that's about to change.

So far, attempts to clear plastic waste from the ocean have involved ships and nets and just haven't work. According to The Ocean Cleanup, solutions that move through the ocean to remove trash tend to be ineffective and also cause more damage:

"Using vessels and nets to collect the plastic from one garbage patch would take about 79,000 years and tens of billions of dollars. Besides, such an operation would cause significant harm to sea life and generate huge amounts of CO2 and other emissions."

That's what makes The Ocean Cleanup so cool. All studies show it's going to work, it's cost effective, and it doesn't kill sea life.
In fact, they are estimating that The Ocean Cleanup could remove half the plastic from the Great Pacific Garbage Patch in just 10 years, costing 33 times less money and happening 7,900 times faster than the old vessel and net method.
This first deployment near Tsushima will give them an opportunity to test out exactly how much trash can be removed, and how quickly, in reality.

Oh, and the guy who created this? He was a teenager when he got started on it.

Boyan Slat is the genius behind The Ocean Cleanup. He's 20 now, so he's getting pretttty old. (Next time someone complains about "kids these days," share this story with them.)
He was on a diving trip in Greece in 2011 — you know, when he was around 16 — and was astounded by the amount of plastic he came across, wondering why nobody had cleaned it up.
Instead of waiting for someone to fix it, Slat came up with an idea himself, which he presented in 2012. In 2013, he began leading an international team of 100 engineers and scientists, and in 2014, they raised $2.2 million in crowdfunding.
And here we are today!

During the second quarter of 2016 — less than one year away — we're going to learn exactly how quickly our oceans can be cleaned up.

A year ago, it was still in development. In less than a year, it will be happening. Imagine if it all goes according to plan! We could have cleaner oceans, healthier wildlife, and save money.

It will be so great to see The Ocean Cleanup in action because pretty soon this ugliness that fills our oceans...

Police Killings At An All-Time High

As police killings rise--and as public distrust and anger rise along with it--a rational and reasoned response becomes obligatory.

A major investigative report by the Washington Post tells a chilling story: police killings nationwide are on a pace to eclipse 1,000 by year’s end. That’s more than double the national average in recent years. Even more disturbing is the fact that police shootings are largely underreported. Mind you, these statistics do not include police-inflicted deaths by means other than police bullets, such as stun guns and people in police custody.

The report states: “‘These shootings are grossly under­ reported,’ said Jim Bueermann, a former police chief and president of the Washington-based Police Foundation, a nonprofit organization dedicated to improving law enforcement. ‘We are never going to reduce the number of police shootings if we don’t begin to accurately track this information.’”

“And in a high-rise apartment in Birmingham, Ala., police shot an elderly man after his son asked them to make sure he was okay.

Douglas Harris, 77, answered the door with a gun.”

Mr. Harris is one of nearly 400 people who were shot and killed by police during the first five months of this year. This equates to more than two a day.

Eighty percent of the victims of police shootings were in possession of “potentially lethal objects.” However, this statistic is deceptive, in that it includes people such as Mr. Harris, who was simply armed for his own protection and was shot and killed because he was armed. The remaining victims were completely unarmed; and many were actually running away.

The dead ranged in age from 16 to 83. About half of the calls were in response to some sort of domestic disturbance. Some involved homeless people behaving erratically or someone threatening suicide. Nearly 25% of the victims were identified as being “mentally ill.”

“In Miami Gardens, Fla., Catherine Daniels called 911 when she couldn’t persuade her son, Lavall Hall, a 25-year-old black man, to come in out of the cold early one morning in February. A diagnosed schizophrenic who stood 5-foot-4 and weighed barely 120 pounds, Hall was wearing boxer shorts and an undershirt and waving a broomstick when police arrived. They tried to stun him with a Taser gun and then shot him.”

Police are only authorized to use deadly force when they fear for their lives or the lives of others and there is an imminent threat to life. This is the same principle of law that governs the conduct of American citizens in general. However, nowadays, running away from a police officer could easily get one shot.

“Running is such a provocative act that police experts say there is a name for the injury officers inflict on suspects afterward: a ‘foot tax.’”

Of the nearly 400 police killings so far this year, only three have resulted in an officer being charged with a crime. That’s less than one percent.

“The low rate mirrors the findings of a Post investigation in April that found that of thousands of fatal police shootings over the past decade, only 54 had produced criminal ­charges. Typically, those cases involved layers of damning evidence challenging the officer’s account. Of the cases resolved, most officers were cleared or acquitted.”

According to FBI statistics, over the past several years, police have killed around 400 people each year. But this stat was achieved in just the first five months of this year. To be sure, many of these killings were completely justified–and sometimes even heroic.

The problem is, far too many chiefs of police, sheriffs, county prosecutors, judges, etc., are willing to either 1) not properly and thoroughly investigate police killings, or 2) look the other way at questionable killings, or 3) actually cover-up wrongful deaths committed by police. Regardless, all of the above leads to a breakdown of justice and true law and order–and serious distrust on the part of the American citizenry regarding law enforcement agencies and the court system itself.

Just about everyone is predicting a long, hot summer of anti-police violence this year in many of America’s major cities–especially after the highly controversial episodes involving police killings in Ferguson, Missouri, and Baltimore, Maryland. But the problem is much deeper than these two events. A recent history of police abuse and killings has produced deep resentment against the police, especially within many minority communities. And it’s time that the American people (and especially America’s police agencies) began realizing that this resentment is not entirely unfounded.

The Post report notes that for most police departments and sheriff’s offices, a fatal shooting is a rare event (as it should be). However, 19 state and local police agencies have had at least three police killings so far this year, including the police departments in Los Angeles, California; Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; and Bakersfield, California.

“The most troubling ­cases began with a cry for help.

“About half the shootings occurred after family members, neighbors or strangers sought help from police because someone was suicidal, behaving erratically or threatening violence.

“Take Shane Watkins, a 39-year-old white man, who died in his mother’s driveway in Moulton, Ala.

“Watkins had never been violent, and family members were not afraid for their safety when they called Lawrence County sheriff’s deputies in March. But Watkins, who suffered from bipolar disorder and schizophrenia, was off his medication. Days earlier, he had declared himself the ‘god of the fifth element’ and demanded whiskey and beer so he could ‘cleanse the earth with it,’ said his sister, Yvonne Cote.

“Then he started threatening to shoot himself and his dog, Slayer. His mother called Cote, who called 911. Cote got back on the phone with her mother, who watched Watkins walk onto the driveway holding a box cutter to his chest. A patrol car pulled up, and Cote heard her mother yell:

‘Don’t shoot! He doesn’t have a gun!’

“‘Then I heard the gunshots,’ Cote said.

“Lawrence County sheriff’s officials declined to comment and have refused to release documents related to the case.”

“Catherine Daniels called police for the same reason. ‘I wanted to get my son help,’ she said. Instead, officers Peter Ehrlich and Eddo Trimino fired their stun guns after Hall hit them with the metal end of the broomstick, according to investigative documents.

“‘Please don’t hurt my child,’ Daniels pleaded, in a scene captured by a camera mounted on the dash of one of the patrol cars.

“‘Get on the f—ing ground or you’re dead!’ Trimino shouted. Then he fired five shots.

“Police spokesman Mike Wright declined to comment on the case. Daniels said no one from the city has contacted her. ‘I haven’t received anything. No apology, nothing.’

“But hours after her son was killed, Daniels said, officers investigating the shooting dropped off a six-pack of Coca-Cola.

“‘I regret calling them,’ Daniels said. ‘They took my son’s life.’”

Fatal Police Shootings In 2015 Approaching 400 Nationwide

The Post report seems to suggest that the answer is for the Justice Department in Washington, D.C., to take a more active role in monitoring local and State policing. I strongly disagree!

One of the reasons why so many of our police officers and sheriff’s deputies have become so abusive and trigger-happy is due to the training they are receiving. The “us versus them” mentality is much the result of training indoctrination. And, since 9/11 and the advent of the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), the federal government is mostly responsible for training policies, procedures, philosophies, etc., within State and local police agencies. In fact, most of our local police SWAT teams are trained by U.S. military Special Forces troops. DHS has turned our State and local police agencies into quasi-military units. And it has turned the U.S. citizenry into enemy combatants. I argue that the problems we are having with our police agencies today is the result of the ubiquitous and draconian influence from Washington, D.C.

Plus, think about the manner in which the federal government “bribes” State and local police agencies with all kinds of funding for everything from personnel to tanks and armored carriers, to sophisticated eavesdropping equipment, to military arms and ammunition, to helicopters, ad infinitum. If anything, the American people should be demanding that their local police departments and sheriff’s offices STOP accepting federal funding OF ANY KIND for their agencies. The way it is now, our State and local law enforcement agencies are more beholden to Uncle Sam than they are to the people whom they are supposed to serve. To ask the federal Justice Department to become more involved in local policing is like asking the proverbial fox to guard the proverbial hen house. Do you really want to turn your local police department over to the people who massacred the Branch Davidians?

Another remedy is the citizens of our respective counties should demand that the State legislatures and/or county commissions establish an independent Citizen Review Committee charged with the task of investigating EVERY incident of alleged police abuse and, especially, EVERY incident involving a police shooting. Quite frankly, we can no longer trust the internal affairs division of our respective police agencies to adequately police their own. This committee should have the financial ability to hire independent private investigators to examine these incidents. And the committee should be given teeth. It should be mandatory that the prosecutor’s office prosecute an officer if the committee investigation finds probable cause–in much the same way that a grand jury’s indictment is binding. It would be even better if an independent prosecutor was assigned to these types of cases. In many counties, blatant cronyism between the prosecutor’s office and the city police departments and county sheriff’s office is way too common. The money should be taken from the annual budget appropriated for the actual police agencies. After all, providing accountability to the public is as much a part of a police department’s responsibility as providing a squad car or K-9 unit to police personnel. Without accountability and the respect of the public, all of the police personnel and equipment in the world is not sufficient to keep the peace.

Thirdly, the American people should demand that appropriate tax-dollars be allotted for the Office of Public Defender (OPD)–even if that means it is taken from funds allotted to police departments. In most states and districts, the OPD is one of the most underfunded entities of all. And the OPD is the one office at the courthouse that is constitutionally-mandated within our U.S. Constitution. Yet, most “law and order” conservatives look at the OPD with disdain–but somehow they still refer to themselves as “constitutionalists.”

Believe me, the last place you want to be forced to defend yourself in a court of law is in a mostly conservative, Christian, FOX News-type-Republican district. To many, if not to most of these good folks, you are guilty simply because you are arrested; and you must PROVE YOURSELF INNOCENT. I know what I’m saying rubs many people the wrong way; but it is an absolute fact.

One of the bedrock principles of American law and justice is that a person is INNOCENT until PROVEN guilty in a court of law. Tragically, this principle has been all but lost in the thinking of many of our citizens today–especially those who watch FOX News too much. It demonstrates a serious lack of understanding and appreciation for liberty itself. For a civil government–any civil government–to take away an individual’s liberty should require the strictest requirements. The old adage is still true: “It is better for ten guilty men to go free than for one innocent man to go to jail.” Americans need to start defaulting to liberty in their thinking once again. This was the Spirit of ’76. For so-called “conservatives” and Christians to demonstrate a “prove your innocence” mentality reveals that they have lost all appreciation and respect for individual liberty and the due process of law.

The county prosecutor’s office has virtually unlimited monies to prosecute people. In fact, the prosecution and imprisonment of the American people has become a HUGELY PROFITABLE BUSINESS. The confiscation of properties and assets of accused (sometimes accusation is all that is required to confiscate a person’s wealth and property) and convicted persons often serves as a significant revenue stream for many cities and counties–as do traffic citations.

Anyone who thinks speed laws are mostly for “safety” is seriously naïve. It’s mostly about generating revenue for the various State and local police agencies, prosecutor’s offices, courts, etc. Most police agencies and prosecutor’s offices directly benefit from speeding tickets and from people being arrested and sent to jail. Not to mention the incentives that come from Washington, D.C.

A properly constituted and funded OPD is the second to last line of peaceful defense against government overreach, abuse, and tyranny. The last line of peaceful defense against government overreach and abuse is the citizen jury. There is no doubt in my mind whatsoever that a sizeable percentage of people serving time behind bars today are there unjustly. They were convicted by overzealous prosecutors trying to make a name for themselves (not to mention a pile of money), by circumstantial evidence, and by the lack of an adequate defense.

Public defenders are pressured to “go along with the system” and not backlog the court by rendering a thorough and vigorous defense of their clients. The weight of city hall often threatens to come down hard on honest public defenders who won’t roll over for the prosecutor’s office. Judges, likewise, pressure public defenders to “hurry up” with their defense procedures, as all of these myriad laws (especially drug laws) enacted over the years have resulted in most courts being seriously backlogged with cases. And in the minds of most of these “public servants,” the answer is for the public defenders to not bog down the system by being too detailed and thorough in the defense of their clients.

It’s a rigged system, folks! And it’s not rigged in favor of you and me; it’s rigged in favor of the police and prosecutors. This reality makes it far too easy for police to literally “get away with murder.” Fully authorized and functional Citizen Review Committees, and an adequately funded (and appreciated) Office of Public Defender, and police departments and sheriff’s offices that are NOT beholden to the federal government could make a tremendous difference in restoring accountability to our police agencies and public trust in our police departments and prosecutors’ offices.

As police killings rise–and as public distrust and anger rise along with it–a rational and reasoned response becomes obligatory. It begins with people, especially our conservative, Christian, Republican friends, recognizing the current holes in our justice system and returning to common-sense, constitutional principles. If this doesn’t happen soon, political agitators will create a climate of violence and lawlessness that will only produce more of the abuse and misuse of law that is already taking place. And this accomplishes nothing, except making it easier for Big-Government usurpers to justify themselves in their attempt to encroach upon more and more of our liberties.

Photos with red arrows and white text boxes are my work. Did that on another website, to show what a new aircraft undergoing flight test looks like. I stood inside a newly constructed commercial aircraft at Boeing and this is exactly what I saw. Metal barrels mounted in racks are filled with water. Water is pumped between the banks of barrels to shift the center of gravity from one side to the other.

This testing is done to EVERY single plane Boeing builds. A test like this must take place in a similar way at other aircraft manufacturers to obtain flight certification. This is all a normal part of FAA flight certification approval. Description of objects in the photo was STOLEN from text in my article written Feb. 2008.

Shots fired!

La Bota Ranch near Laredo.

The Laredo Morning Times is reporting that a Border Patrol helicopter was shot at and was struck on Friday evening near La Bota Ranch, according to Webb County Sheriff Martin Cuellar. Sheriff Cuellar said that out of the five shots, two were confirmed to have hit the helicopter.
A Spokesperson for the Border Patrol, Sara Melendez, said the helicopter landed safely and no injuries were reported. It has not been confirmed if the shots were fired on the U.S. or Mexico side.
A later Border Patrol statement says the crew of the Office of Air and Marine helicopter was patrolling the US-Mexico border near the banks of the Rio Grande when attacked about 5:30 p.m. Friday. According to the Border Patrol, bullets hit the rite side of the aircraft and the rotor blade, which could have produced catastrophic results, but the pilot was able to land safely with no injuries to Border Patrol personnel.
The MSM coverup instantly sprang into action as CNN reported that the shots came from inside of Mexico. Not so, according to my Border Patrol source.

Dusting Off Old Reliable Sources

Subsequent to this report, I was able to contact one of the two Border Patrol (BP) personnel who provided me with very accurate behind-the-scenes intelligence information last summer during the Central American immigration invasion of the United States. The source told me, late last night, that the event took place inside of the United States. The area, outside of Laredo, is mostly unguarded. I asked the BP source about the 75% reduction in BP force along certain parts of the border. He informed me that in many areas, the border is in complete disarray, is totally unguarded and are hotbeds for blatant and rampant criminal activity.
This is not the first time that this area of the border has been at the center of border incursions by 5th column insurgents who have crossed the border. Nothing happens in isolation. My BP source said that the field report filed by the ranking BP official in that particular sector stated that the helicopter was maintaining a watch on what appeared to be  troop movements 5-15 miles inside of the United States. In this same area, five years ago, the Laredo Police Department have now admitted that the police blotter evidence released by Kim Dvorak of the San Diego Examiner showed that the Los Zetas drug cartel seized a privately owned ranch in the Laredo area was indeed accurate. Authorities have spent the last five years debunking this claim despite the official record.

The police blotter reads as follows:
“On Friday 7-23-10 Laredo Webb informed that their county SWAT Team is conducting an operation in the Mines Rd. area. According to LT. Garcia with LSO (Laredo Sheriff Office) received a call from a ranch owner stating that the Zetas had taken over his ranch. As per the 17 (reporting person) he informed them that they stated La Compania (area business) was taking the ranch and no one was permitted on the ranch without permission. SO (Sheriff Office) will have an unmarked green Ford Taurus with two officers stationed at Los Compadres and a white Chevy Tahoe with two officers stationed at Mineral Rd. The LSO (Laredo Sheriff Office) will maintain surveillance in the area and advise if action is taken. Susp (suspect) Veh (vehicle) are described as a gray or silver Audi, a BLK (black) Escalade or Navigator and a van truck with a logo of a car wash spot free on the side. Border Patrol also has their response team on scene. Also known info of BMW’s and Corvettes entering and leaving the area. Auth LT Lichtenberger if assistance is requested LPD (Laredo Police Department) will secure the outer perimeter.”

My source informed me that the cartels maintain a presence in the area that was never eradicated after the 2010 report and that the Border Patrol is not allowed to engage anyone in the area. The Los Zetas force is a well-trained paramilitary group which is a splinter group belonging to the Mexican Army that was trained by the United States military. Please note in the review of the Judicial Watch report, listed below, that the cartels are intimately involved with the ISIS presence near the border.

ISIS is operating a camp just a few miles from El Paso, Texas, according to Judicial Watch sources that includes a Mexican Army field grade officer and a Mexican Federal Police Inspector. Yet, President Obama is completely ignoring this fact. This is a monumental national security issue and all we hear from the Obama administration officials are the proverbial crickets chirping. Obama is willing to chase ISIS into Syria and risk a confrontation with Russia, but he ignores this well-documented ISIS base camp which is located mere miles from the border and El Paso, Texas.

My BP source informed that the BP helicopter was investigating what appeared to be waiting vehicles as the “troops” approached from the south. Again, I ask what is the role of Jade Helm? It is difficult to believe that these two events are not somehow connected. My source is certain that it was ISIS that fired upon the helicopter in a show of limited force. Limited force? ISIS has an almost unlimited supply of hand held stinger missiles. It is my source’s belief that ISIS is still trying to maintain a low profile until they go live and commence operations within the United States.

We know the Russians are here along with a growing Chinese troop presence. We are gaining proof by the day that ISIS is penetrating the perimeter of the United States with paramilitary forces. Is this the vanguard of an international martial law-enforcing army that will first bring chaos which will be followed by martial law? Will this result in an armed occupation involving foreign troops?

These events could give new meaning to the false flag event as this could be a false flag war in the making which is made possible because the Border Patrol is not allowed to engage. The area where the BP helicopter was attacked is only a hop, skip and a jump from routes that intersect with I-10 and I-35. If ISIS has established a corridor which grants them access to these routes, then they can strike anywhere and at anytime inside of the United States.

Why isn’t the military being stationed at these key points? Instead, we find dead zones, where almost no Border Patrol officials are stationed. How soon will it be until we see the following in American towns?
