THE DAY THAT ALL ATM'S RAN OUT OF CASH.....

The Day All The ATMs Ran Out Of Cash

ROTHSCHILD COMMAND CENTRAL HEADQUARTERS....GIVE ME ALL YOUR MONEY....$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$ I WANT IT ALL!!!

Money plays such an important role in our lives that most of us could not imagine surviving without it. Yet that is exactly what you need to do if you want to prepare for an economic condition called deflation.
Deflation is the term economists use to describe a “general decline in prices, often caused by a reduction in the supply of money or credit.”[1] A good way to think of deflation is as the opposite of inflation. Inflation occurs when there is too much money in circulation, which destroys its value and raises prices. When deflation occurs, there is too little money available, which often causes prices to collapse and the economy to shut down.
In severe cases of deflation there can be no money available at all not — even at the banks. This nightmare actually occurred during the Great Depression of the 1930s, when there were places in the United States where there was no cash available at all. More recently, it has happened in Greece, where ATMs ran out of cash and where banks placed limits on the amount of money that could be withdrawn.
People had no money to pay bills or buy food for their families. Employers had no money to pay employees, customers had no money to buy goods, and many people were reduced to bartering to survive. During the Great Depression, farmers would pay professionals such as mechanics and doctors with food because they had no money and no credit.
The situation got so bad that in some areas of the country, local governments, chambers of commerce and businesses issued their own currencies — the so-called depression scrip. (See a picture of one here.) The scrip often took the form of pieces of paper that people used as money because there was no government currency available. The scrip was used to pay workers or buy goods.
At one point during the Great Depression, the money shortage got so severe that the US government considered issuing a national scrip as an alternative to the dollar. That plan was eventually dropped and the government solved the crisis by simply printing more dollars.[2]
Many people have known survivors of the Great Depression who liked to keep large amounts of cash on hand. Others would hoard food and other items. Those people developed that habit because they remembered what life without money was like. The fear of the deflation that occurred in the 1930s haunted them all of their lives.
Ready For Deflation? This New Solar Backup Generator Delivers 4 Times More Power Than Other Models
The frightening reality is that the threat of deflation is still real. Some knowledgeable individuals, such as wealth preservation experts Will and Bill Bonner,[3] believe that a sudden deflation leading to a national or international money shortage is still possible today.
The Bonners, who have studied some of the world’s knowledgeable investors such as George Soros, believe that the next financial crisis will begin with a “violent monetary shock” similar to the one that occurred during the Great Depression. They predict that money could suddenly disappear overnight, causing the economy to come to a grinding halt.
What Happens When Money Vanishes
Historical accounts of the Great Depression show us some of the possible effects of such a violent monetary shock. The damage caused by such a violent deflation can include:
The sudden collapse of prices. The Great Depression began with the collapse of stock market prices in 1929. That was preceded by the collapse of agricultural prices in the United States during the 1920s. During that crisis, land prices in rural areas collapsed, causing large numbers of rural banks to fail. When the banks failed, the government liquidated them and their assets, which included lots of foreclosed farmland, an action that further drove prices and made the crisis worse.[4]

Image result for soup kitchenEverything you have — your investments, your home and your possessions — could suddenly lose all of its value. We saw this happen during the mortgage bubble of 2007-2008, when many people found themselves “underwater.” That occurs when the amount a home is mortgaged for exceeds the property’s value.
The collapse in prices during the Great Depression particularly hurt farmers who relied on commodity prices. Newsreels from the early 1930s show farmers dumping grain on the ground and pouring out milk because they could not sell them.
Bank runs and the collapse of financial institutions. A bank run or banking panic occurs when all of a bank’s depositors try to take their money out at once. Bank runs often trigger the collapse of financial institutions, which prompts even more bank runs. Between 1930 and 1933 nearly 10,000 banks failed or were suspended.[5] The panic got so bad that President Franklin D. Roosevelt actually suspended all bank transactions in the US between March 6 and March 10, 1933 to prevent further runs in his so-called “bank holiday.”[6]
New Survival Seed Bank™ Lets You Plant A Full Acre Crisis Garden!
During the banking crisis of the 1930s, many Americans lost their life savings simply because they were not able to get to the bank fast enough and withdraw their money. Even some wealthy individuals ended up on the streets and in bread lines because they could not get money from the bank.
Massive unemployment. It is a simple and obvious fact that when there is no money, there are no jobs. At the height of the Great Depression in 1933, 24.75 percent of the nation’s labor force, or one in four workers, were unemployed. Around 12.83 million people were out of work at a time when America’s total population was only around 93 million people. That unemployment persisted for years, with 8.1 million Americans still out of work in 1940 in the 11th year of the Great Depression.[7] The unemployment created by the Depression only ended when World War II created “jobs” in the form of the draft and war production.
Hunger and Starvation. Not surprisingly, hunger and in some cases death from starvation can become a problem after deflation. Historians disagree on the number of people who died during the Great Depression.

CANNING AND STORING YOUR OWN FOOD...

Massive expansion of government and its power. In his first 100 days in office in 1933, Roosevelt signed 15 major pieces of legislation, several of which established massive new bureaucracies.[8] During the 1920s there were 553,000 civilian employees of the federal government, but by 1940 the federal government had more than 1 million civilian employees.[9] For the first time in American history, the federal government even tried to set prices for products under the National Recovery Act. The government also told farmers what to grow under the Agricultural Adjustment Act. Those laws were so blatantly unconstitutional that the US Supreme Court struck them down in 1935 and 1936.[10]
Increased taxation. When money disappears government gets desperate and imposes more and taxes in an attempt to squeeze more money out of the economy. During the Depression, the maximum income tax rate was raised from 20 percent to 55 percent, gift taxes were increased from .75 percent to 33.5 percent, and new taxes were levied on automobiles, gasoline, telegrams, telephone calls and even checks. By 1934, the United States had the highest tax rates in the world. In 1935 taxes were raised again. Historian Murray Rothbard estimates that the effective tax rate in the United States increased from 16 percent to 29 percent during the Depression.[11]
Why it Could Be Worse Today
If such an event were to occur in today’s world, it could be far worse than the Great Depression.
People were far more self-sufficient in the 1930s, as large numbers of families lived on farms and grew their own food. Even many Americans who lived in town maintained gardens and chicken coops. In those days people also hunted for meat, canned and preserved their own food and baked their own bread. People also sewed their own clothes and fixed their own cars, which gave them a high level of self-sufficiency.
Today, most Americans rely solely on supermarkets for food, and many families no longer even cook. Few people bother to sew, and most of us do not even change the oil in our cars. If our money were to disappear, we would be as helpless as children.
It’s time that we learn the lessons of the Americans who survived the Great Depression. That lesson was to be as self-sufficient as possible so you can survive, no matter what.

TPP signed: the ‘biggest global threat to the internet’

TPP signed: the ‘biggest global threat to the internet’ agreed, as campaigners warn that secret pact could bring huge new restrictions to the internet

The Trans-Pacific Partnership agreement covers 40 per cent of the world’s economy, and sets huge new rules for online businesses as well as traditional ones
Landmark TPP deal announced in Atlanta
An agreement that some campaigners have called the “biggest global threat to the internet” has just been signed, potentially bringing huge new restrictions on what people can do with their computers.

The Trans-Pacific Partnership is the conclusion of five years of negotiations, and will cover 40 per cent of the world’s economy. Its claimed purpose is to create a unified economic bloc so that companies and businesses can trade more easily — but it also puts many of the central principle of the internet in doubt, according to campaigners.
One particularly controversial part of the provisions make it a crime to reveal corporate wrongdoing "through a computer system". Experts have pointed out that the wording is very vague, and could lead to whistleblowers being penalised for sharing important information, and lead to journalists stopping reporting on them.

Others require that online content providers — such as YouTube and Facebook — must take down content if they receive just one complaint, as they are in the US. That will be harmful for startups looking to build such businesses since they'll be required to have the resources to respond to every complaint, experts have pointed out.

In 2013, when the partnership was still being discussed, the Electronic Freedom Foundation called TPP “one of the worst global threats to the internet”. The changes are dangerous because to unify the various countries in the partnerships’ rules on intellectual property and other internet law, they are opting to take the US’s largely very restrictive rules.

“The TPP is likely to export some of the worst features of U.S. copyright law to Pacific Rim countries: a broad ban on breaking digital locks on devices and creative works (even for legal purposes), a minimum copyright term of the lifetime of the creator plus seventy years (the current international norm is the lifetime plus fifty years), privatization of enforcement for copyright infringement, ruinous statutory damages with no proof of actual harm, and government seizures of computers and equipment involved in alleged infringement,” wrote Katitza Rodriguez and Maira Sutton.

The changes could also lead to huge new rules about surveillance.

“Under this TPP proposal, Internet Service Providers could be required to "police" user activity (i.e. police YOU), take down internet content, and cut people off from internet access for common user-generated content,” write Expose The TPP, a campaign group opposing the agreement.

As well as imposing strict rules on those on the internet, activists point out that some of the parts of the agreement could limit central parts of the internet and modern computers. A restriction on breaking “digital locks” for instance — which is meant to allow companies to control their products even after they have been bought by customers — could stop disabled people from making important changes to their computers or using different technology.

The agreement has been made in secret and will not be fully published publicly for years.

Tech experts wrote to the US Congress in May to demand more transparency about the agreement.
"Despite containing many provisions that go far beyond the scope of traditional trade policy, the public is kept in the dark as these deals continue to be negotiated behind closed doors with heavy influence from only a limited subset of stakeholders," they wrote.

GUNS: Yet ANOTHER ATTACK planned by Obama on your GUN RIGHTS!!!!

WHITE HOUSE JUST REVEALED OBAMA IS PLANNING AN EXECUTIVE ORDER THAT WILL OUTRAGE MANY AMERICANS!!!!

White House Press Secretary Josh Earnest said in an Oct. 5 press conference that...

'president' Barack Obama plans to approve several executive orders to initiate gun control measures that Congress is unlikely to pass.

White House Press Secretary Josh Earnest said in an Oct. 5th press conference that the president’s actions were in response to the recent shooting in Oregon, where a gunman killed nine people attending a writing class.

Witnesses said he killed those proclaiming a Christian faith and wounded others, stating they were of another faith, no faith, or not answering the question.

“It’s a high priority and will continue to be until we start to see more progress on this issue in this town,” Earnest said.

The exact orders are not yet drawn, and Earnest would not talk about any specific details of the measures during the press conference. He only would say the process was “ongoing.”

“I can tell you that they’re not stumped.  They’re continuing to review the law that’s on the books and continuing to consult with legal authorities but also others who may have ideas about what steps that can be taken to keep guns out of the hands of criminals,” Earnest said.

The president has not fared well in past attempts to get gun control legislation through Congress. Obama wanted a ban on assault weapons and wider background checks, but that failed in 2013. A weakened bill on background checks, debated in Congress after the Newtown, Conn., massacre of schoolchildren, died in a Senate filibuster.

After that failed attempt, the president signed 23 executive orders to reduce firearm violence. He didn’t introduce any gun control legislation when Democrats had control of both chambers after Obama became president in 2009.

Democratic candidate Hillary Clinton presented her gun control proposals on Oct. 5. Gun rights supporters fear her proposal would circumvent Congress because it allows for executive orders to mandate background checks on all gun purchases, both from licensed dealers and private parties. Currently, background checks are not mandated for private gun sales–and that includes sales at gun shows.

Republican candidate Mike Huckabee has been making the media rounds on the subject, stating that gun control would have done nothing to keep guns out of the hands of the Oregon shooter.

A chart of 10 countries shows there were 38 rampage shooting incidents in the United States between 2009 and 2013. Statistically, the U.S. was much lower in incidents and deaths than other countries with more restrictive gun laws when each country’s population numbers were included.  (Even MORE so when one considers that these PROVEN false flag shootings have been done under USA CORPORATION 'government' mind control programming and would NOT have occurred had that one important FACT not been discovered and PROVEN.)

AFTER MARKET UPDATES EVERY GLOCK OWNER NEEDS

Image source: Pixabay.comAFTER MARKET UPDATES EVERY GLOCK OWNER NEEDS

There really does seem to be a strange love/hate relationship between gun nuts and Glocks. For some reason, the brand is either avoided like a Christmas fruitcake, or it’s canonized into the “gospel” of all that is wonderful about handguns.

As for me, I do like Glocks for their sheer simplicity and reliability. If I can’t trust a handgun to take a round from magazine to impact every time I pull that trigger, then that weapon remains steadfastly a safe queen. It’s true, Glocks certainly aren’t the most beautiful handguns on the market. But then, that’s probably going to be the last thing on my mind in a lethally defensive situation.

That’s why I’ll conceal carry a Glock 10 times out of 10. Hey, I’d rather live with an unattractive, plain-looking handgun then have a homicide detective commenting on how my 1911’s custom grips are pretty sweet: “But too bad the poor guy’s safety is still on.”

However, I will say that Glocks are not totally exempt from imperfection. In fact, there are a few aftermarket updates that I’d suggest for Glock owners, even if there are only three of practical importance.

No. 3 – Extended Slide Stop Release

One of my smaller pet peeves about Glock weapons is that they possess strange ergonomics. In one sense, they feel a little awkward in the hands. Yet, by the same token, their ergos are ingeniously designed — that is, if the proper high-and-tight grip and isosceles stance is being practiced.

After handling more than a few Glocks, however, I have noticed that they all seem to have a factory slide-stop release that feels more difficult to manipulate than picking a dime up off the floor while wearing mittens.

The cool part is that Glock knows this and offers an aftermarket solution (for those of us cursed with perpetual mitten-like dexterity and short fingers).
Replace your current slide release with the extended one, and you’ll feel better in no time.

It’s like chicken noodle soup for the sidearm.

No. 2 – Aftermarket Sights

This issue is usually one of preference because I’ve met more than a few Glock carriers who are completely happy with their factory sights. However, if you’ve been shooting for decades with other pistols using the usual dot configuration, then it’s understandable why Glock’s factory sights could cause annoyance.

If you’re simply more partial to dots instead of boxes, then feel free to change out those sights for something that makes you more comfortable. Lone Wolf offers convincingly good aftermarket Glock sights, as well as glow-in-the-dark tritium sights for your casual evening shootouts.

However, if you do purchase tritium sights, then you should know that they tend to accumulate accuracy-damaging dirt, and the tritium glow tends to slowly degenerate within just a few years. Other than that, night sights can provide just another advantage if you’re forced into a tactical engagement after daylight hours.

No. 1 – Trigger Pull Upgrade

Admittedly, this is an issue that I’ve held against my own Glock for a few years. Even though I’ve put hundreds of rounds down range with the gun, I have always felt like my 19’s trigger pull weight was heavy enough to generate concern about possibly throwing off a crucial shot.

So in order to put those nightmares to rest, I decided to purchase a ZEV Tech trigger upgrade kit. They even claim to bring that five-pound pull down to about three, while not diminishing the weight of the spring itself. It was an easy win for me.

And since it’s a mod that you can purchase on Brownells for less than $10, then this attempt is well worth it (especially if you suffer from dreams where you try to shoot the velociraptor, but you just can’t seem to pull that darn trigger hard enough to squeeze off a round into the reptilian beastie).

It’s a Glock … So Let’s Not Get Too Crazy People

Some of these mods will require above-average knowledge of the weapon in order to get them done, so there is a chance that you might need to take your baby to the local certified Glock armorer. However, if you do have a rather extensive knowledge of gunsmithing (or of Glocks in general), then you might be able to get by with this guide: Glock Armorer’s Manual.

It is true that there are plenty of other aftermarket mods (even aesthetic ones, believe it or not.) Nevertheless, let’s not sacrifice the gun’s simplicity in the name of upgrading just to upgrade. At the end of the day, it’s an all-round great gun.

So let’s not get too crazy people.  It’s Glock that we’re talking about here.

  1. If you’re going to go through the trouble of changing out the sights, then you should spend the extra money for tritium sights. That will allow you to shoot accurately in low light situations, when many crimes occur. Tritium sights are radioactive and glow in the dark. This makes them much more visible than even the fiber-optic ones. The difference could be life-or-death.
    • I have pondered the tritium sights from Trijicon, but after talking with several industry professionals and a few police officers I have come to the conclusion that you are better off spending that money on a flashlight.

If the lighting is so low that you can’t use the factory sights the chances are you cannot see your intended target clearly.

Would not want to injure or kill someone, then get in court and not be able to accurately describe them, saying something like “just saw a silhouette outline” is not gonna get you points with a jury in a self defense shooting.

If you cannot see your target clearly, and most importantly what is behind them, then its best not to pull the trigger unless your life depends on it. But be prepared for the police investigators and prosecutor to tear you a new one for shooting in the dark.

  2. I came late to the “Glock Party” never thinking that a “plastic” framed gun would EVER be THE law enforcement standard it has become. I stand corrected.

I have replaced the stock sights on all of my Glock pistols at present, with Tru-Glo’s Tritium Fiber Optic sights which work WELL for my eyes, night or day. I love them. Easy for me to pick out in a hurry.

I also have placed Pachmayr grip cloves on all of the Glocks in my inventory, because I found out early in my l(past) law enforcement career, my hands got sweaty when I had to pistol-point a felon-in-progress. That habit has never left me, so I now have no naked Glocks.

Yes, Glock pistols ARE ugly, with few redeeming features other than they just plain are reliable and work. Do I carry other hand guns? from time to time yes. Most of the time, for serious work, a Glock is on my hip with reloads on the opposite. I’ve not succumbed to different barrels, or other accouterments that many people find to their liking

Not my style and that is OK. Everyone can find what suits them best, be it a Glock or any other brand or a revolver. Whatever works best and fits YOU best, by all means, be legally armed. It’s not only your right, it just might save your life,, or the lives of your loved ones.

  3. I left the factory sights on my 19, but I did install a Lasermax guide rod laser. It’s not that I am a bad shot, it took a little while but I became a pretty reliable shot even with my short chubby fingers. I just like the extra added security of knowing that if I can’t find my glasses in the dark, or I am awakened and just a little disoriented, I am going to be able to hit what my laser is pointing at.

    • Another advantage of a Laser, is simply this, If I saw a Laser dot on my body I would retreat. The best way to win a gunfight is to not be in one.

  4. For the Gen 4 users like myself, a Pearce Grip Plug to fill the hole when using a backstrap. I had a lot of trouble with the factory slide lock, too small for me. Changing it out for the extended one is a piece of cake and really worth the effort.

Only other recommended upgrade that is optional is the guide rod, a steel one is better for those that will be practicing at the range a lot, not that there is anything wrong with the plastic one from the factory, but the fact that it is plastic makes me nervous about long term use.

Only cosmetic thing I did was to use some bright red nail polish to color the front sight for contrast purposes. Takes one drop of red and really helps when you are trying to line up the white box rear sight with a red front sight. I keep a bottle of red nail polish on my workbench and do this with all my firearms!

  5. I installed the Glock adjustable rear sights, just to insure accuracy, and a Hy-Viz front sight, and that helps me to focus on the front sight, as you’re supposed to do.

I installed a ‘Ghost 3.5′ trigger assembly, and to make sure that I could maintain grip, simple ‘skate board’ tape on the grips.

This is a “Gen 1″ model 17, a former ‘police trade in”, so I can’t account for how many rounds were fired out of it before I got it, but I KNOW that I’ve fired over 8,000 rounds through it since acquisition in 2004, and it has NEVER missed a beat!

I joined USPSA competitive shooting, then, and had to ‘develop a load that would make ‘major power’ in USPSA, since all factory 9mm ammunition won’t make ‘major power’. I have been religiously shooting 147gr CAST LEAD, and jacketed 147gr bullets, and it has NEVER had an issue with lead in the barrel, CONTRARY to what may have been reported!

I’m still loading the bullets with 147gr cast (cast with Lee bullet molds), 15% antimony/tin content, 85% lead, and either Sierra or Hornady 147gr JHP, at around 1100fps!

Funny how such an ‘ugly’ firearm can be so reliable!
By the way, after 2.5 years of USPSA competition, in the ‘production’ class, I was able to save up for my Kimber Stainless Target II, .45acp, and competed another 3.5 years in the ‘limited 10′ (10 round magazine) class, but that’s a discussion for another day.

I still shoot the Gen 1 model 17, when I can pry it away from my wife! It’s her favorite firearm, and pretty effective with it!

Everything You’ve Heard About Stockpiling Ammo Is Wrong.....

Everything You’ve Heard About Stockpiling Ammo Is Wrong.....

Image result for BOX OF 9MM BULLETS
Amongst all the critical supplies that survivalists stockpile, there is nothing more controversial than ammunition.
When it comes to food and water, you never hear someone saying, “That’s too much.” But you can hear that with ammo. You can also hear a lot of people spouting off about how you need 10,000 rounds, without a whole lot of justification for it.
Part of the problem, as with everything else in preparing for an uncertain future, is that none of us really know what we need. We’re trying to define how much inventory to invest in, without really thinking it through and determining how we’ll use it. In order to fully understand how much ammo we need, we also need to develop a plan for how we will use our firearms.
Of course, there are many preppers who have made a life out of collecting firearms, too. While I can fully understand the fascination with guns and the desire to have lots of them, I can’t really say that buying the largest gun safe you can find and filling it up with guns is really a necessity.
How Much Is Enough?
So, let’s start out by talking about how many guns is enough. We need to determine that in order to know how much ammo we’ll need for those guns. There are two basic purposes for which you’ll need guns in any disaster situation. They are:
  • Defense
  • Hunting
You need to decide what sorts of guns you’re going to have on-hand for each of those purposes. In some cases, you may decide that you can use a gun for both purposes. A great example of this would be an AR-15. You could use that for both defense and hunting. If you have it chambered for .223 and buy a .22 long rifle adapter kit for it (new bolt and magazine), you could even use it for hunting.
Ultimate Tactical Self-Defense And Hunting Weapon That Doesn’t Require A Firearms License!
Likewise, a shotgun can be used for both purposes, although you are limited in range with a shotgun. Nevertheless, the actual gun that each member of your party is going to use in a survival situation should be decided. Those are the guns they should practice with and those are the guns you need to concern yourself about stockpiling ammo for.
Each member of your party needs a long gun (rifle or shotgun) and a pistol. As one firearm instructor so aptly put it, “A pistol is what you use to fight with, while you’re making your way to your rifle.” The idea here is that the pistol is always on your person, while you might be forced to put the rifle down, in order to accomplish some tasks.
If each family member is a shooter (and they should be), then you need one long gun and one pistol for each.
Now, on to Ammo

Image result for BOX OF 9MM BULLETS

If you have more guns than those mentioned above, then the amount of ammo that you have for the “extra” guns doesn’t really matter. You’ve already decided which guns you’re going to use, so those guns will only be used if a straggler joins your party or you break or lose one of your primary firearms.
We’re going to look at the two uses of those guns separately, specifically in the sense of determining how much ammo we need and then add them together. Keep in mind that you don’t need hunting ammo for a gun that’s not going to be used for hunting. That would just be extra ammo and an extra expense.
Defensive Ammo
Home defense is where people really go crazy on ammunition purchases. But is that realistic? When infantry soldiers go off to battle, they carry what is known as a “basic combat load.” That’s the amount of ammo that they are expected to use in one day’s fighting. Do you really think you’re going to use more ammo than an infantry soldier?
The basic load of rifle ammunition for an infantry soldier is 210 rounds. That’s seven, 30-round magazines. One is in their rifle and the others are in ammo pouches on their chest rig. For those who carry a pistol (usually rear area troops and upper level officers), they carry three magazines’ worth. You should have ammo for both, as you should be carrying both.
Vicious New Hand-Held Self-Defense Tool Turns Lethal In Seconds!
Okay, so if we use that as a basis, then how many basic loads of ammo do you need? This is subject to argument, but I seriously doubt that any of us are going to use more than two. If you survive through that much fighting, you’re amazing. Most of us will probably die long before we reach that point.
The other issue here is portability. Ammo is heavy. If you’re “bugging out,” you probably won’t be able to take more than two basic loads with you — one on your person and another in your vehicle. Once again, if you survive through that much fighting, you’re simply amazing.
Hunting Ammo
We could actually end up using more ammo for hunting than we will for defense, in some situations. A lot will depend on your specific survival plans. If you are planning on staying in your home during a crisis, you’re probably not going to use a lot of ammo hunting. But if you are planning on living off the land, in some cabin in the woods, then you may actually go through a lot of ammo. But there are few who fall into that category.
The only way that hunting will be a realistic possibility for most of us is if we live someplace where we have woods within walking distance of our home. Otherwise, without gasoline, we probably won’t be able to go hunting at all.

Now, the next question is how much ammo do you use hunting? When I go, that’s limited to two or three rounds, maybe only one. Unless I’m bird hunting, when I might actually use as many as six. So, you really don’t need a lot of rounds of ammo for each hunting trip.
Start by figuring out your worst-case scenario for how long you’re expecting to be in survival mode. Based on that, how often will you go hunting? Let’s say two or three times per week. So, if you’re using three rounds of ammo per hunt and hunting three times per week, you’re going to need an absolute maximum of 365 rounds of ammo to survive a year. I bet it will actually be much less than that.
Putting it Together
Okay, so let’s put this all together. As an example, let’s say you’ve got an AR-15, which is your primary defense and hunting weapon, and you’re carrying a 9mm Glock as your sidearm. Two basic loads of ammo for your AR-15 is 420 rounds. Plus a year’s worth of hunting at a maximum of 365 rounds. That makes a total of 785 rounds. Then you need 102 rounds of 9mm for the two basic loads to fill the three magazines for your Glock.
For people in your family who are not going to be hunting, you can forget about the ammo for them to hunt. They’ll only need the two basic loads. That’s a whole lot less ammo than you need. For that matter, if you have others who do hunt, then you won’t have to hunt as much, so you’re still looking at only 365 rounds to take care of the year.
This means that for a family of four, all of whom are shooters, you need 2,453 total rounds of ammunition for rifles and pistols, in order to be ready to survive for a year. That’s a far cry from the 10,000 rounds that a lot of people are saying.
Of course, if having that 10,000 rounds gives you a warm fuzzy feeling, then buy them, assuming you have enough money for that much. But don’t feel like you have to, just because someone set up an arbitrary number and a lot of others have repeated it.
Keep in mind that these figures are only for surviving. They do not include anything for training. That’s another issue entirely. You can go through a lot of ammo learning to shoot. But then, those aren’t rounds that you need to stockpile for survival; those are rounds that you’d better expend before it becomes time to survive, or you’re going to be in a world of hurt.
