(NaturalNews) For those who wonder why, as the editor of Natural News, I carry a loaded weapon with me at all times, consider how often whistleblowers who threaten to expose government conspiracy crimes end up dead. In just the last few days a water treatment plant foreman who could have testified against the corrupt government of Michigan was found dead in his home. On the exact same day, Sasha Avonna Bell, who spearheaded a lawsuit against the government over the lead poisoning of the Flint water supply, was found murdered.

"She was identified Thursday, the same day the death of a Flint Water Treatment Plant foreman who was wanted for questioning in connection with the crisis was announced," reports the Daily Mail.

Local government, state government and federal government all conspired to systematically poison the water supply of a predominantly black community, carrying out their criminal scheme for many months -- and poisoning countless children -- with extremely high concentrations of brain-damaging lead in the municipal water.

While the EPA says the limit of lead in public water is just 15 parts per billion, at times the water coming out of the tap in Flint, Michigan registered a jaw-dropping 13,200 parts per billion (13.2 ppm), according to Scientific American.

This crime was not only covered up by the government, it was allowed to continue for many months without anyone bothering to warn the public.

Once the knowledge of this government-run mass poisoning of black people finally became known, an EPA official resigned over the criminal cover-up, but no charges were ever filed against her because federal employees appear to have absolute legal immunity, even when they deliberately poison hundreds of thousands of people.

Before long, criminal charges were filed against three local water quality scientists and managers, but not before the murders began.

Matthew McFarland was murdered, of course

Matthew McFarland, the foreman at the Flint Water Treatment plant, was found dead at his home on April 16th. "The Lapeer County Sheriff's Department said a friend found McFarland unresponsive at a home in Otter Lake. There were no signs of foul play," reported Mlive.com. "An autopsy did not determine a cause of death and police are awaiting toxicology reports. The investigation remains open... Michigan Attorney General Bill Schuette's office confirmed that McFarland was previously interviewed as part of its ongoing investigation into the city's water crisis."

Anyone who thinks McFarland's death is just an untimely coincidence is living in a delusional dream world. When it comes to government cover-ups and untimely deaths, there are no coincidences. There are, however, assassination teams that target those who might embarrass the government, and there's little question that McFarland was actually murdered in a way to make it look like a death from natural causes.
Do you honestly think that a government which conspired to mass poison an entire community of children with a toxic heavy metals that causes brain damage would hesitate to order the execution of a key witness?

For anyone reading this and screaming "conspiracy theory!" you need to wake up to the reality of conspiracy FACTS. The Flint water poisoning was factually a conspiracy. Those who have now been charged with the crime have, in fact, been charged with conspiracy. It's no longer a "theory" when it's happening all around you. It's simply the way the government routinely works to poison the people while hiding all evidence from the public for as long as possible.

Sasha Bell also found murdered

When the bodies start piling up surrounding a massive government conspiracy to poison the population, you know something nefarious is afoot. Flint resident Sasha Bell, who spearheaded the first lawsuit against the government over the water poisoning, was also found murdered.

"A 19-year-old Michigan mother who was one of the first to file lawsuits on behalf of the thousands of children poisoned by water in Flint was found shot to death this week," reports NY Daily News. "The body of Sasha Bell was discovered Tuesday night at Ridgecrest Village Townhouses in Flint, authorities said. The body of a second woman, Sacorya Reed, was also found in the home."

Note carefully that a second woman was also murdered in the same home. In other words, as these murders are carried out to silence people and protect the government, the murderers are willing to kill anyone who gets in their way.

An 18-year-old named Malek Thornton has been arrested in connection with the murders, with a local NBC affiliate reporting, "Thornton has been charged and arraigned in this case for two counts of first degree murder, two counts of open murder and felony firearm."

He is obviously a patsy in all this. Does anyone really think Sasha Bell was executed by pure chance? Are we supposed to believe this is another crazy coincidence where so many people involved in the Flint, Michigan water poisoning case just happen to end up dead or executed?

America's cities have devolved into Third World cesspools of Third World justice

The upshot of all this is that Detroit, much like Oakland, Chicago and Miami, has devolved into a Third World cesspool of Third World justice. Here's how it works:

• Government gets away with murder, poisoning the population with an extremely toxic water supply (and food supply, for that matter) that causes brain damage and lifelong crippling side effects.

• Anyone who attempts to speak out gets threatened, intimidated or simply executed.

• The same government that covered up the original crime also covers up the murders, either designating them to be deaths from "natural causes" or blaming some young thug they set up as a stooge to take the fall.

• Federal officials are NEVER charged with any crimes in all this. They get away scot-free, demonstrating the absolute legal immunity currently enjoyed by the corrupt, criminal ruling class of regulatory totalitarians who repeatedly conspire to harm the American public.

• Black communities are routinely targeted in these schemes, just as we say with the mass water supply poisoning of the Washington D.C. area just 12 years ago.

• NO COINCIDENCE: Black communities are also targeted for other depopulation agendas, including: 1) Vaccination sweeps that cause autism in African-American boys, 2) Cancer "treatment" that kills people, 3) Abortion clinics that end the lives of black babies before they are even born. Connect the dots, people, and you'll realize that black people in America today are being systematically targeted and destroyed by the government itself.

A startling Ministry of Defense (MoD) report circulating in the Kremlin today says that up to 50,000 Federation military personnel, their equipment, aircraft and armaments were ordered earlier today to begin the nations largest ever  “asymmetric warfare” combat operation bringing these troops within 85 kilometers (52 miles) of the United States northern border and into the heart of South America.  [Note: Obama-Clinton hatred of both Russia and Israel is due to neither of these nations acceptance of what is called open border globalization.] 

According to the MoD in their report, this “surprise/rapid” order was issued to the commanders of the over 120,000 Federation troops currently engaged in the Southern Military District, operation code named Caucasus-2016, and whose actions can only be described as being a preparation for all-out war.

The greater number of these troops are being deployed to the Chukotka Autonomous Okrug on the border with Alaska where last week the MoD announced it was stationing a full division of Federation troops to defend against continued American aggression and warning: 

“US military officials may get at least a taste of the concern Russian military planners feel when they see large-scale NATO exercises along Russia's western frontiers, and parades involving US troops just a few hundred meters from Russia's borders.”

Along with the thousands of Federation troops being deployed to Chukotka, Aerospace Forces (AF) have, likewise, begun deployment of hundreds of fighter aircraft to their 10 recently built airfields in the Arctic region and have begun equipping them with the highly feared Vympel R-37M RVV-BD and Novator KS-1 7 air-to-air missiles—and that global military analysts have warned are able to strike at the “Achilles heel” of American airpower, AWACS (surveillance aircraft) and US refueling tankers.


While these massive Federations military forces are being redeployed against the American northern border,  up to 1,500 Spetsnaz (special forces/commandos) have been ordered to immediately embark to the South American nation of Bolivia, too—and as authorized under the military cooperation agreement signed by the Federation and Bolivia last week. 

To the cause of this massive and unprecedented Federation war move against the United States is "directly” due to the United States this week ordering one of their P-8 Poseidon spy planes to cross the Black Sea, turn off its transponder, and attempt to penetrate Federation airspace in violation of all “international normals”— and follows on the heels of the 1 August US unprovoked aggression when they flew numerous nuclear capable strategic bombers all along Russia’s northern border.

To the elite Spetsnaz troops being deployed under this order to Bolivia is due to that South American nations fear that their government is next to be toppled after the Obama regimes successful coup in Brazil this past fortnight.

Though the Obama regime backed coup in Brazil is being portrayed to the American people as the impeachment of their popular President Dilma Rousseff, nothing could be further from the truth as new President, Michel Temer, was revealed by Wikileaks to have been a longtime informant for the American’s against his own nation, the Brazil Senate leader who led the impeachment against President Rousseff, likewise, being in the pay of the Americans, and the current US ambassador to Brazil, Liliana Ayalde, having previously, in 2012, engineered the successful Obama-Clinton backed military coup in Paraguay.   (This was NOT done with the knowledge or approval of the American people who most likely would NOT have approved of the coup. North Korea conducted its 5th nuclear test Friday

TOKYO — North Korea defiantly celebrated its fifth nuclear test Friday, claiming that it can now make warheads small enough to fit onto a missile and warning its "enemies" — specifically the United States — that it has the ability to counter any attack.

Although the North’s proclaimed advancements could not be verified — and Pyongyang has a track record of exaggeration — the test appeared to mark another step toward North Korea’s goal of putting a nuclear warhead on a weapon capable of reaching the mainland United States.

Friday’s test — the North’s second this year — underscored the ability of Kim Jong Un’s regime to make progress on its nuclear and missile programs despite waves of international sanctions and isolation.
“This is our response to hostile powers, including the United States. We are sending out a message that if the enemies attack us, we can counterattack," Ri Chun Hee, the veteran North Korean newsreader, said on state television. "We will continue taking measures to protect our dignity and our right to exist from the American threat."

The test also appeared to be much bigger than North Korea's previous four detonations since its first in 2006.

The U.S. Geological Survey detected an artificial 5.3-magnitude earthquake near North Korea's nuclear test site at 9 a.m. local time on Friday, the 68th anniversary of the formation of the communist regime by Kim Il Sung, the current leader’s grandfather, and a national holiday.

“This is clearly a nuclear test,” said Jeffrey Lewis, director of the East Asia nonproliferation program at the James Martin Center for Nonproliferation Studies in Monterey, Calif. He estimated the size at between 10 and 20 kilotons. The North’s last nuclear test, carried out in January’, was about six kilotons.

The test happened just a few hours after 'president' Obama's plane stopped in Japan to refuel on his way home from Laos, where he had been attending the Asean summit. The 'president' talked to South Korea's president, Park Geun-hye, who was still in Laos, and Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe, said White House press secretary Josh Earnest.

"The 'president' reiterated the unbreakable U.S. commitment to the security of our allies (SURELY the Asian leaders know better?!)  in Asia and around the world," Earnest said. "The 'president' (you mean the FIRED 'president' - the 'president' that the leaders of the world REJECTED at the G-20 mtg?) indicated he would continue to consult our allies and partners in the days ahead to ensure provocative actions from North Korea are met with serious consequences." (the Asians are not the problem - the criminal cabal crime syndicate/reptilians and partners, are the problem - not the united states. Our nation is subject to their atrocities just like all the other nations on this planet.)

China, the closest thing North Korea has to an ally, issued a statement “resolutely” opposing the test, which took place “despite the widespread objection of the international community.”

“We strongly urge North Korea to keep its promise to denuclearize, to abide by relevant resolutions from the U.N. Security Council and to stop making any moves that worsen the situation,” the statement from China's foreign ministry said.

In its official announcement of what it said was a “nuclear warhead explosion test,” North Korea claimed that it had been able to make “smaller, lighter and diversified nuclear warheads of higher strike power.”
“This has definitely put on a higher level the [country’s] technology of mounting nuclear warheads on ballistic rockets,” said the statement, carried by the official Korean Central News Agency. 

Kim has been ordering speedy progress on missile development — as evidenced by the recent salvos of medium-range missiles — and has been making observable gains with its nuclear devices. But there remains no clear evidence that North Korea's scientists have been able to put the two together to make a warhead that can be delivered to a target.

However, a growing number of analysts and American military chiefs believe it is just a matter of time until North Korea masters this technology. This test seemed to have a dual purpose, said Yang Moo-jin, a professor at the University of North Korean Studies in Seoul.

 “Domestically, Kim Jong Un wants to present himself as a strong leader standing strong against the U.S.” he said, suggesting this could be because Kim, at 32, is young but also perhaps because recent high-level defections have raised speculation of cracks in the regime.
“Internationally, this test is designed to show that sanctions imposed against North Korea and international pressure are not working. They’re urging the world to accept its failure and revise its North Korea policy,” Yang said.

Friday’s test highlights North Korea’s continued defiance, but also the ineffectiveness of even the most recent waves of tough sanctions imposed after the nuclear test in January, analysts said.  “The whole expectation eight or nine months ago was that sanctions were finally going to bring North Korea to heel, but clearly that is not the case,” said David Kang, a professor of international relations at the University of Southern California. “Clearly they respond to pressure with pressure of their own.”

Still, the international community would look for ways to inflict more pain on North Korea, which is already under sweeping sanctions.  “North Korea’s desperate dependence on nuclear development is testimony to Kim Jong Un’s fanatical recklessness,” said South Korea’s president Park, who cut short her visit to Laos to return to Seoul. North Korea’s provocations will do nothing but accelerate its self-destruction.”

In Tokyo, prime minister Abe also struck an angry tone."If North Korea conducted a nuclear test, I can’t absolutely tolerate it," he said. "We have to strongly protest."

After North Korea's nuclear test in January — which the regime claimed was of a hydrogen bomb — and a long-range ballistic missile test in February, the U.N. Security Council imposed tough new sanctions.  It ordered a ban on mineral exports from North Korea, a major source of income for the regime, and strict inspections of all cargo going in and out of the country. 

The United States followed with new financial sanctions and by designating Kim Jong Un by name for human rights abuses. South Korea has also taken a strident approach, closing an inter-Korean industrial park that had been a major source of revenue for the regime. But Kim has not wavered, testing a range of missiles this year and apparently making some technological progress, including on a submarine-launched ballistic missile.

“There’s now obvious progress in North Korea’s nuclear and missile programs. They seem to be making precisely the technical progress that people don’t want,” said Euan Graham, a security expert at the Lowy Institute in Sydney who once served as a British diplomat in Pyongyang. “North Korea is obviously prepared to take the economic pain and is able to continue to materially supply the two programs.”
On Monday, North Korea launched three medium-range missiles as China was hosting a meeting of G-20 leaders, including Obama. The rockets flew 620 miles, falling inside Japan’s air defense identification zone. A day after those launches, the Security Council issued its latest condemnation.  “The members of the Security Council deplore all the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea’s ballistic missile activities, including these launches, noting that such activities contribute to [its] development of nuclear weapons delivery systems and increase tension,” the council said in statement Tuesday, using North Korea’s official name.

Analysts expect another round of discussions on ways to put pressure on North Korea. "Sanctions and targeted financial measures may take time to have an impact on the regime’s financial condition," said Bruce Klingner, a northeast Asia specialist at the Heritage Foundation, a conservative Washington-based think tank. The difficulty, Klingner said, would be in maintaining international resolve. Sanctions can not be effectively implemented without the support of China.
China's implementation of sanctions has been patchy in the past, and some analysts are concerned that Beijing, angered by South Korea's decision to host an American anti-missile battery, might lose its appetite for enforcement.

There are now over 1,000 agents ready to quit FBI if Hillary gets elected.  They call it Operation Stop the Cabal.

These strong and brave FBI agents are going against the Zionists and are now refusing to share intel with Israel.  

Now, money  -  as in a HUGE amount, has been laundered through Israel via Mossad and ended up in Saudi Arabia, Turkey and, of course, Israel.  Netanhayu is very involved and the FBI knows this.  Netanyahu is in cahoots with Soros, according to our insiders.  This does not mean the people of Israel are evil. The Likud party is. Netanyahu is. 

The FBI knows this plan is a power move to rule the world and is being actively built via central banks and media.

This plan is called Greater Israel and it’s literally what the true name of the Cabal is.  Goals include:
  1. Creating war by Muslims on Christians.
  2. Fooling Evangelicals to support Israel, then turn on them
  3. Fool Putin into befriending Turkey again and then get NATO to war with Russia.
Israel can stay out of the conflict and pick up the spoils of WW3.  The FBI is aware that Netanyahu and Soros are in on this, as are the Clintons.  The FBI also has proof the Clinton Foundation was used to launder stolen money from Pentagon!

The FBI folks want Soros and Lynch prosecuted as well as the Clintons, and it appears they will not stand down until that happens.

My unscientific poll of Maryland voters in next week’s Democratic presidential primary gives Bernie Sanders a 100 percent lead in early returns. “I just voted for Bernie Sanders today,” said Thomas Frank, author of several books, including 2004’s best-seller What’s the Matter with Kansas?, and this year’s Listen, Liberal: or, Whatever Happened to the Party of the People?

“I advance voted in Maryland. I have my little ‘I Voted’ sticker on my shirt,” Frank told me in an interview this week. Frank spoke with Sanders back in 2014 when he was deciding whether to run for president and whether to run as a Democrat. Frank asked Sanders about a series of laws — NAFTA, welfare reform, bank deregulation — all carried out when Democrats were in power.

“That’s supposedly the party of working people,” Frank said.  “I don’t think anybody would say, as a whole, that the Democratic Party is the party of the American working class,” Sanders replied.

Understanding why Democrats can no longer be seen as a working-class party consumes the bulk of Listen, Liberal. But Frank purposefully did not make his critique the way Sanders so often does, based on how Democrats were seduced by big money to compromise their beliefs.

In an early draft, Frank included a chapter about the drift toward corporate fundraising pioneered by then Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee chairman Tony Coelho in the 1980s to protect the liberal majority in the House, but he eventually took that section out.

“I decided I’ve told the story of money in politics before,” Frank said, referring to his earlier book The Wrecking Crew. “I wanted to make this book a pure play on the class question, and not the money question.”

Frank’s main point is that the Democratic Party has become more responsive to the needs of an 'elite' social class, abandoning preoccupations that challenge the working class, like income inequality. 

All the while Democrats put on the cloak of populism when they need to be bailed out of trouble during elections. But when they actually get into power, they shake off those slogans and advance the interests of the 'elites'.

In this sense, Listen, Liberal recalled for me Frank’s first book, 1997’s The conquest of cool, which was all about how corporations in the 1960s used advertising to reposition themselves as the natural heirs of the counter-culture. Advertising targeted at the young generation turned consumerism into freedom, made it the ultimate expression of values to buy a Volkswagen.

The same people marketed to in The conquest of cool are now the ones running the Democratic Party. “The story of the boomer generation is from left to right or, as they would say, from idealism into pragmatism,” Frank said.  

Listen, Liberal resurrects a remarkable quote from Hillary Clinton’s Wellesley College commencement address in 1969, saying that politics should not be the art of the possible, but the art of making the impossible possible. This is precisely the thinking that Clinton supporters denounce as fantastical when coming from Sanders’s mouth.

Frank believes that this iteration of Democrats was never interested in issues that afflict workers. “When the mainstream media would comment on idealistic kids in the 1960s and 1970s, they were always talking about kids at fancy colleges,” Frank said, “not kids working in factories, which would have still been at that time a larger majority of them.”

Instead, Democrats care about equalizing opportunities and letting the cream rise to the top through education, entrepreneurship and “innovation,” a meaningless buzzword that Frank slaps silly in a later section of the book.  

Listen, Liberal blames this obsession with “creativity” as actively holding our politics back. “Creativity is something you do on your own, through individual inspiration. It’s not something available to workers,” said Frank.

In this sense, policies that encourage everyone to be an individual entrepreneur atomize the working class and put their concerns on a lower status, so Democrats do nothing about them. Frank even identifies recent issues where Democrats didn’t need Congress to make progress — things like anti-monopoly enforcement or bank prosecutions. Instead of pushing ahead, they shrank from confronting power on behalf of ordinary people, specifically because “they didn’t want to do those things,” as Frank writes.

Democrats find more value in professional achievement, in reaching the heights of the meritocracy, than in producing better outcomes for people who work for someone else. Much of the Clinton campaign focuses on knocking down artificial barriers for those who want to rise to the top. That heralds great promise for those with the talent to execute, but for the losers in that scenario, there aren’t much more than crumbs.

A meritocracy that used the current system to succeed has no incentive to alter that system. And so you hear from Hillary Clinton the amazing statement that “If we broke up the banks tomorrow… would that end racism? Would that end sexism?” 

Set aside the fact that black and Latino homeowners were the most victimized groups in the financial crisis. But class, race and gender critiques were historically unified in American activist movements. “Think of organized labor and the civil rights movement,” Frank said. “Or in the old Populist days of the 1890s, they were also the biggest feminists in America. Women had the right to vote all over the frontier. Why would someone on the left want to split that?”

The book features a litany of slights from Democrats at the working class, going back to the Carter era (Frank quotes Carter economic adviser Alfred Kahn saying “I’d love the Teamsters to be worse off”) and even before. It presents the New Left of the 1970s as springing from the suburbs rather than the union halls, the professional ranks rather than the shop floors. And so naturally those Democrats coming from this tradition focus their liberalism in other places than economic issues.

Frank acknowledged in our discussion that this decades-long phenomenon has begun to create a backlash. The Sanders campaign’s against-all-odds accomplishment is one example. The successes of the Fight for $15 minimum wage campaign are another. “I’m ecstatic that I managed to hit the same themes people are upset about,” Frank said.

At the same time, he wasn’t optimistic that the backlash would amount to much. Despite his vote, Frank has resigned himself to Hillary’s likely victory in the nominating fight, and in the general election in November: “I expect she’ll win.  She’ll continue along the same path as Obama and not much will change.”

Democrats often use the fact that Republicans have gone off the deep end to ignore their left flank, on the grounds that those liberals have nowhere else to go politically.  

Listen, Liberal contributes to the literature that expresses deep frustration with that decision, the fuel for a revolt. And even without a rebellion today or next week or next year, the future of the Democratic Party, if its leaders continue to make that choice, looks increasingly untenable.

We have gone from 2 to 4 new subscribers each day average to 21 new subscribers yesterday and so far today 14.
 
Of course we need hundreds of new people coming in to this system every day to really effect the change we want for freedom.
 
This is the beginning of what it will take to get enough participation to make a real difference at the grass roots level and drive justice over corruption in our country.

I have spent considerable time over the last two weeks putting together an advertising campaign to introduce thousands of people to Anna's work.

California and federal regulators fined Wells Fargo a combined $185 million on Thursday, alleging the bank's employees illegally opened millions of unauthorized accounts for their customers in order to meet aggressive sales goals.

Wells Fargo employees secretly created millions of unauthorized bank and credit card accounts -- without their customers knowing it -- since 2011, federal regulators said Thursday.

"Wells Fargo employees secretly opened unauthorized accounts to hit sales targets and receive bonuses," Richard Cordray, director of the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau, said in a statement.

Wells Fargo confirmed to CNNMoney that it had fired 5,300 employees related to the shady behavior over the last few years. Employees went to far as to create phony PIN numbers and fake email addresses to enroll customers in online banking services, the CFPB said.

The scope of the scandal is shocking. An analysis conducted by a consulting firm hired by Wells Fargo concluded that bank employees opened up over 1.5 million deposit accounts that may not have been authorized, according to the CFPB.

The way it worked was that employees moved funds from customers' existing accounts into newly-created accounts without their knowledge or consent, regulators say. The CFPB described this practice as "widespread" and led to customers being charged for insufficient funds or overdraft fees -- because the money was not in their original accounts.

Additionally, Wells Fargo employees also submitted applications for 565,443 credit card accounts without their knowledge or consent, the CFPB said the analysis found. Many customers who had unauthorized credit cards opened in their names were hit by annual fees, interest charges and other fees.

The CFPB said Wells Fargo will pay "full restitutions to all victims."

Wells Fargo is being slapped with the largest penalty since the CFPB was founded in 2011. The bank agreed to pay $185 million in fines, along with $5 million to refund customers.

"We regret and take responsibility for any instances where customers may have received a product that they did not request," Wells Fargo said in a statement.

Wells Fargo confirmed to CNNMoney that the firings represents about 1% of its workforce.

"At Wells Fargo, when we make mistakes, we are open about it, we take responsibility, and we take action," the bank said in a memo to employees on Thursday.

It's not clear when Wells Fargo hired a consulting firm to investigate the allegations, nor what triggered the response. Wells Fargo did not respond to a request for comment on this.

The CFPB declined to comment on when the investigation began and what sparked it, citing agency policy. "We don't comment on how we uncover these matters," a spokesman said.


The San Francisco-based bank will pay $100 million to the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau, a federal agency created five years ago; $35 million to the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency, and $50 million to the City and County of Los Angeles. It will also pay restitution to affected customers. 

It is the largest fine the CFPB has levied against a financial institution and the largest fine in the history of the Los Angeles City Attorney's office.

The CFPB said Wells Fargo sales staff opened more than 2 million bank and credit card accounts that may have not been authorized by customers. Money in customers' accounts were transferred to these new accounts without authorization. Debit cards were issued and activated, as well as PINs created, without telling customers.

In some cases, Wells Fargo employees even created fake email addresses to sign up customers for online banking services.

"Wells Fargo built an incentive-compensation program that made it possible for its employees to pursue underhanded sales practices, and it appears that the bank did not monitor the program carefully," said CFPB Director Richard Cordray.

The behavior was widespread, the CFPB and other regulators said, involving thousands of Wells Fargo employees. 

Los Angeles City Attorney Mike Feuer called Wells Fargo's behavior "outrageous" and a "major breach of trust." 


"Consumers must be able to trust their banks," Feuer said. 

Wells Fargo's aggressive sales tactics were first disclosed by The Los Angeles Times in an investigation in 2013. The story series prompted the Los Angeles City Attorney office to sue Wells Fargo over its tactics. 

In a statement, Wells Fargo said: "We regret and take responsibility for any instances where customers may have received a product that they did not request." Wells Fargo said they've refunded $2.6 million in fees associated with any product that was opened without authorization. 

Despite the LA Times investigation, Wells Fargo is still known for having aggressive sales goals for its employees. Wells Fargo's executives highlight every quarter the bank's so-called "cross sale ratio," which is the number of products the bank sales to each of their individual customers. The ratio hovers around six, which means every customer of Wells Fargo has on average six different types of products with the bank.
