Congressman offers scathing look at US drone program, covert wars
The
U.S. drone assassination program is “vigilantism conducted by robots” and has
caused us to “journey into moral depravity,” said Rep. Dennis Kucinich (D-Ohio)
in an interview
with The Bureau of Investigative Journalism.
In
the June 21 interview with the London-based Bureau, Kucinich gives a scathing
review of the U.S. wars in Yemen and Pakistan and states that the nation’s
justice values have been “radically altered” and that we now have a system of
trial by execution.
“We have ventured into a world since 9/11 where
international law is set aside and where the implements of war are becoming so
ubiquitous that all the rules are being ignored and conflict zones are
expanding. Where suspected terrorists – and we do not know what they are really
suspected of doing, you know – they can be suspects now, and they can be
executed. Or they can just be perceived to be a male of combat age and be
executed.”
Kucinich remarks how the power of Congress to declare war
has now morphed into “the derogation to the executive of the power to strike at
any nation at any time for any reason.”
On the covert, escalating war in Yemen, including drone
strikes, Kucinich bluntly states, “We understand that we are at war in Yemen.”
The congressman emphasized that the U.S. drone program
represents a bastardization of justice: “What we have done here with the
drone program is to radically alter our system of justice. Because, remember,
if the whole idea is that we are exporting American values, those drones
represent American values. And now we are telling the world that American
values are summary executions, no rights to an accused, no arrest process, no
reading of charges, no trial by jury, no judge, only an executioner.”
And by having such an assassination program without legal
justification, we “journeyed into moral depravity,” Kucinich stated.
Kucinich added that going against the the UN Charter, the
US has been “clearly aggressing against Pakistan, and against Yemen, and
against a whole range of countries. This can only lead to more war. With war,
these wars, any drone now is an incendiary that spreads war more broadly and it
incites more people to join the cause of those who protest the US policies and
who seeks to commit violence.”
This kind of killing by execution “is vigilantism
conducted by robots,” he stated.
Highlighting media complicity in war, Kucinich said that
as in the Iraq war, “It’s not bad form to kill civilians, it’s only bad form to
talk about it. ”
“There has been a tradition of American journalists in
modern times to serve as the spear carriers for the government.” He added that
the problem has increased because of the decreasing number of newpapers and
ones owned by “large corporate interests.”
Kucinich said that civilian casualities in war are by and
large ignored. The only time civilian casualties are used is to articulate a
cause for further US military involvement in a conflict such as in Syria.
He ended by cautioning that “it’s going to be very
disturbing for the American people when they awake from the slumber to look out
upon a world where there’s carnage everywhere that’s created by our nation
without any legal process, without any constitutional basis and without any
articulated justification.”

The House and Senate voted for the passage of the FAA bill that funds 30,000 drones to surveil Americans knowing that the majority are to be armed initially with shotgun tasers. Two Americans a week die from tasers so these are lethal weapons. But these drones can easily be equipped with machine guns and rockets. I decided to only report the Senate vote because the bill included strong anti-union sections that forced House Democrats to vote against the overall bill. A quick glance of the Senate No votes revealed one staunch Zionist from a strong union state who probably would have voted for the bill if it were a stand alone measure without the union bashing.

robust as ever!! The demand for biometric identification technology has

Fingerprint scanners that work from 25 feet away. Radars that pick up your heartbeat from behind concrete walls. Algorithms that can tell identical twins apart. Eyebrows and earlobes that give you away. A new generation of technologies is emerging that can identify you by your physiology. And unlike the old crop of biometric systems, you don't need to be right up close to the scanner in order to be identified. If they work as advertised, they may be able to identify you without you ever knowing you've been spotted. Biometrics had a boom after 9/11. Gobs of government money poured into face and iris recognition systems; the Pentagon alone spent nearly $3 billion in five years, and the Defense Department was only one of many federal agencies funneling cash in the technologies. Civil libertarians feared the worst as face-spotters were turned on crowds of citizens in the hopes of catching a single crook. But while the technologies proved helpful in verifying identities at entry points from Iraq to international airports, the hype -- or panic -- surrounding biometrics never quite panned out. Even after all that investment, scanners still aren't particularly good at finding a particular face in the crowd, for example; variable lighting conditions and angles (not to mention hats) continue to confound the systems. Eventually, the biometrics market -- and the government enthusiasm for it -- cooled off. The technological development has not. Corporate and academic labs are continuing to find new ways to ID people with more accuracy, and from further away. Here are 11 projects. Above: The Ear My, what noticeable ears you have. In 2010, a group of British researchers used a process called "image ray transform" to shoot light rays at human ears, and then repeat an algorithm to draw an image of the tubular-shaped parts of the organ. The curved edges around the rim of the ear is a characteristic -- and most obvious -- example. Then, the researchers converted the images into a series of numbers marking the image as your own. Finally, it's just a matter of a machine scanning your ears again, and matching it up to what's already stored in the system, which the researchers were able to do accurately 99.6 percent of the time. In March of 2012, a pair of New Delhi scientists also tried scanning ears using Gabor filters -- a kind of digital image processor similar to human vision -- but were accurate to a mere 92 to 96.9 percent, according to a recent survey (pdf) of ear biometric research. It may even be possible to develop ear-scanning in a way that makes it more reliable than fingerprints. The reason is because your fingerprints can callous over when doing a lot of hard work. But ears, by and large, don't change much over the course of a lifespan. There's a debate around this, however, and fingerprinting has a much longer and established history behind it. A big question is whether ear-scanning will work given different amounts of light, or when covered (even partially) by hair or jewelry. But if ear-scanners get to the point of being practical, then they could possibly work alongside fingerprinting instead of replacing them. . Supposedly, it's the sheriffs that are the highest authority of the law in each county, right? We are approaching the 12th anniversary of the false flag of 9-11 and the shredding of the Constitution due to the un-Patriot act.... WHAT EXACTLY HAVE THE SHERIFFS DONE TO PROTECT THE RIGHTS OF THE PEOPLE?? The sheriffs "no longer have arrest powers" is just the corporations way of "legally" changing the corrupt system. All these sheriffs will now be offered jobs with the Department of "FATHERLAND" Security and continue to go along with the program just as they have done in the past. Are Bad?Why Does DHS Want.... perhaps people are not aware that the DHS is more of a threat to the people of the US than all the other agencies of the gov combined, it is the fastest growing entity in the government, it seems to be taking over all enforcement of travel, security, immigration, collection of personal information, and none of the employees are bound by an oath to the constitution like the armed forces and police,they are just hired help aka- "thugs in uniform" who have no elegance to anyone or anything other than the one who pays them, and I have to wonder just who they are protecting, it looks avery much like the old Russian KGB on steroids they are the last people I would actually put in charge of homeland security judging by the record of the tsa which is part of them, it seems as though these people are hiring anybody off the street to do "the security" and most seem to be the criminal element, and if their system is so bad that they do not do thorough background checks why would they arm them with assault rifles, I really fear that "comrade Nepolitano" will bring all other agencies cia, fbi, tsa, ect under this one organization and make them all subservient to her office, when this happens, you can kiss "all" your freedoms goodbye, as the constitution will no longer be of use to restrain the government because it will be all done in the name of "homeland security" but again "who's homeland" if its not done to protect "we the people who live on the land", then it is done "to restrain we the people who live on the land" and therefore they would be protecting something or somebody from "we the people who live on the land" and you dont need two guesses as to who they will be protecting, and it wont be "we the people" ***************************************************************************

This is mostly about the electric company and the way it
is acting. My electric bill doubled last month and they are planning on putting
in smart meters. I have already been told either I let them put it in or go to
jail or maybe no electric. I just rent here and I know he will put them in. All
utility companies are now acting like they own the people and can do whatever
they want.

If current trespass laws were merely enforced instead of slighting homeowners in favor of mega-corporate utilities companies and corporations there would be a lot less confusion and Smart Meter Installer abuse of homeowners. I was never one for creating more laws, especially when currently existing laws on the books are not enforced. Some current laws like immigrations laws, etc. are hardly enforced at all or there would have been a lot more undocumented illegals deported. But when we arrive at a time in history when creating new laws is big business and an accepted practice it is expedient to consider meaningful laws which level the playing field for the citizens and homeowners, the taxpayers of America in a time of record taxation without representation. You may have noticed how smug the Smart Meter installers have become who won't even tell you their last names, nor where they are from, where they live, etc.. The guy who came out to my place here would only give his first name, yet he was working and standing on my property for which I pay high ISD (Independent School Tax) taxes for. How bad is that? The installers know who you are, your name, address, can probably get your phone number and Social Security number and driver's license details, too, but 'We, The Forgotten People' are not allowed to know whom these damned persons are who are on our properties operating on our homes attaching sophisticated radio meters. This is not anywhere near a level playing field, so to speak. In order to level the playing field the homeowners deserve the right to know EXACTLY whom these persons are, whether or not they are sex offenders, child molesters, murderers, etc.. The idea of allowing meter installers or any other workers onto your property without your having the right to know EXACTLY whom they are is equivalent to a class discrimination or caste system. The onus should be on the visitor, the installer to produce his/her credentials in order to establish whether he/she should enter the property. The idea that electricity consumers must share a power company lock on any gated properties has been overstepped and taken advantage of. These locks should be more for instances of emergencies or where the meter cannot be clearly read without entering the property, or for repair work, in which case the repairmen should be polite, courteous, and notify the property occupant(s) of what they are doing to the meter, etc.. A new law should be introduced in every state that any resident has the right to I.D. a visitor to the property, especially meter installers, etc.. If the installers and meter readers wear a uniform or identifying clothing such as a shirt with an emblem or patch, then good, the name tag and a company badge I.D. with full details should be required. This abuse is by Smart Meter Installers has become a national scourge and is a threat to national security. It has outraged lots of folks all over the place and reeks of corporate bullying and abuse and should be stopped immediately. If it takes a new law then it should be enacted quickly. A powerful group of
senators from both parties has reached a deal on the outlines of a
comprehensive immigration overhaul, a development that will drive an emotional
debate on a hot-button issue unseen in Washington for more than half a decade.The group is expected to unveil the basics of its proposal at a Monday news conference on Capitol Hill, essentially laying down a marker on the issue one day before President Barack Obama heads to Las Vegas to unveil more details about his own immigration proposal.
According to a five-page document provided to POLITICO, the sweeping proposal — agreed to in principle by eight senators — would seek to overhaul the legal immigration system as well as create a pathway to citizenship for the nation’s roughly 11 million illegal immigrants. But establishing that pathway would depend on whether the U.S. first implements stricter border enforcement measures and new rules ensuring immigrants have left the country in compliance with their visas. Young people brought to the country as children illegally and seasonal agriculture industry workers would be given a faster path to citizenship.
The broad agreement by the influential Gang of Eight senators amounts to the most serious bipartisan effort to act on the highly charged issue since George W. Bush’s comprehensive measure was defeated in the Senate in 2007.
It remains to be seen if Obama will embrace the Senate effort, or how closely his own proposal hews to the Senate one. But the Senate proposal is expected to take precedence on Capitol Hill, given that bipartisan backing will be crucial to getting anything through the Democratic-controlled Senate — let alone the Republican-controlled House.
The bipartisan coalition includes influential Democrats such as Majority Whip Dick Durbin of Illinois and Sen. Chuck Schumer of New York, the No. 3 in the leadership. It also has the backing of Sen. Bob Menendez, the Cuban-American Democrat from New Jersey poised to be chairman of the Foreign Relations Committee. And it has the support of Colorado Sen. Michael Bennet, the new chairman of the Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee.
Republican heavy-hitters also have signed onto the deal’s framework, including two veterans of the bruising 2007 effort: Sens. John McCain of Arizona and Lindsey Graham of South Carolina. But it also won the support of Florida Sen. Marco Rubio, a rising GOP star and possible future presidential candidate. And the freshman Arizona Republican, Jeff Flake, who endorsed similar comprehensive plans during his House tenure, has also backed the proposal.
House Republicans are likely to be a tougher sell, but Rep. Paul Ryan (R-Wis.) recently endorsed Rubio’s approach and could be an important partner in selling the legislation to conservatives.
Many of the details have yet to be worked out since the plan has not yet been turned into legislation. There are bound to be fights within the group and off Capitol Hill as the legislative process begins in earnest, and it’s unclear whether the bipartisan group can stick together.
