One in Five Americans Participates in 'government' Assistance Programs

One in Five Americans Participates in 'government' Assistance Programs Each Month

Largest share of participants on assistance for three to four years

By:
One in five Americans participates in government assistance programs each month, according to the most recent data released by the U.S. Census Bureau.
“Approximately 52.2 million (or 21.3 percent) people in the U.S. participated in major means-tested government assistance programs each month in 2012,” according to the Census Bureau’s report.
Means-tested programs include Medicaid, the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP), otherwise known as food stamps, Supplemental Security Income (SSI), Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF), and General Assistance (GA).
The number of beneficiaries of these means-tested programs has increased significantly over the last decade. According to the Census, in 2004 there were nearly 42 million monthly recipients of these programs. Between that year and 2012, monthly participation increased by 24.9 percent.
In order to qualify for benefits from a means-tested program, an individual or family’s income must fall below a specified threshold.
“Participation rates were highest for Medicaid (15.3 percent) and the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program, formerly known as the food stamp program (13.4 percent),” the report said. Participation rates were lowest for housing assistance (4.2 percent), Supplemental Security Income (3.0 percent) and TANF, which includes general assistance (1.0 percent).
The Census collects this data by observing the number of months when individuals received benefits from one or more programs and measuring their entry and exit activity.
“Participation in government programs is dynamic,” said Shelley Irving, an analyst with the Census Bureau’s Social, Economic and Housing Statistics Division. “The Survey of Income and Program Participation shows how individuals move in and out of government programs and how long they participate in them.”
Most beneficiaries of these programs are dependent on them for up to four years. “The largest share of participants (43.0 percent) in any of the public assistance programs stayed in the programs between 37 and 48 months,” according to the Census. “Additionally 31.2 percent of people participated between one and 12 months between January 2009 and December 2012.”

Oklahoma Governor Defies State Supreme Court Over Ten Commandments Monument

Oklahoma Governor Defies State Supreme Court Over Ten Commandments Monument

The following is from The American Mirror written by Olaf Ekberg. It shows that some governors understand the principle of interposition. "Interposition is an asserted right of a U.S. state to oppose actions of the federal government that the state deems unconstitutional. Under the theory of interposition, a state may 'interpose' itself between the federal government and the people of the state by taking action to prevent the federal government from enforcing laws that the state considers unconstitutional."

As you can imagine, the 'courts' don't like the doctrine. States with their constitutions, elected representatives, and governors seem to be at the mercy of unelected judges, thus nullifying the will of the people.

There’s a showdown at the OK capitol.

Oklahoma Gov. Mary Fallin has vowed that a Ten Commandments monument on capitol grounds, which the state Supreme Court recently ruled was unconstitutional, will remain through appeal, KOCO reports.

“The Ten Commandments monument was built to recognize and honor the historical significance of the Commandments in our state’s and nation’s systems of laws,” Fallin says in a statement.

OK commandments

“The monument was built and maintained with private dollars. It is virtually identical to a monument on the grounds of the Texas State Capitol which the United States Supreme Court ruled to be permissible.  It is a privately funded tribute to historical events, not a taxpayer funded endorsement of any religion, as some have alleged."

Fallin and Attorney General Scott Pruitt are appealing the Supreme Court’s ruling.

“Oklahoma is a state where we respect the 'rule of law', and we will not ignore the state courts or their decisions. However, we are also a state with three co-equal branches of government. At this time, Attorney General Scott Pruitt, with my support, has filed a petition requesting a rehearing of the Ten Commandments case,” according to the governor.

“Additionally, our Legislature has signaled its support for pursuing changes to our state Constitution that will make it clear the Ten Commandments monument is legally permissible. If legislative efforts are successful, the people of Oklahoma will get to vote on the issue.”

In a 7-2 ruling, the Supreme Court sided with the ACLU and its three plaintiffs. The group immediately denounced Fallin’s decision.

“The Supreme Court did not give any leeway in their opinion. The bipartisan, seven-member majority did not say 'remove the monument' except if you look into your crystal ball and think the law might allow it at some point in the future and go ahead and keep it,” ACLU of Oklahoma executive director Ryan Kiesel tells the Tulsa World. “The court said remove the monument.”
Kiesel believes Fallin is in “contempt” of the court’s ruling.

“Frankly, I would be astonished if we get to a point where the governor outright defies an order of our state’s highest court,” he says. “That said, if she does, there is a word for it. It is called contempt.” (No!  It's called the right of the people to make their own determinations and to not be RULED by the law of the seas and the criminal court system that needs to be immediately dissolved.)

We Will Tell Him to Shut Up and Go Home’

KENYAN LEADER WARNS:  IF OBAMA PREACHES 'GAY AGENDA',
WE WILL TELL HIM TO SHUT UP AND GO HOME!

Gay Marriage White House Lit

Kenyan leaders are warning President Obama not to bring his “gay agenda” with him when he visits his father’s homeland at the end of this month to open the sixth Global Entrepreneurship Summit.

Following the U.S. Supreme Court’s ruling that legalized same-sex marriage nationwide, the White House image was cloaked in the militant LGBT rainbow, as was the Facebook profile picture of the U.S. Department of Education.
In Nairobi on Monday, members of the Evangelical Alliance of Kenya called upon Obama to refrain from discussing the gay agenda, reports CNSNews.com.
“It is important for us as Kenyans to know that the U.S. is not God,” evangelical Bishop Mark Kariuki was quoted by local media as saying.
Kariuki added that Obama should not use the visit to “talk about the gay issue.”
Irungu Kangata, a lawmaker in President Uhuru Kenyatta’s The National Alliance (TNA) party, said, “We are telling Mr. Obama when he comes to Kenya this month and he tries to bring the abortion agenda, the gay agenda, we shall tell him to shut up and go home.”
Kangata, according to The Standard of Nairobi, said Kenyans would protest against Obama over the gay agenda issue while he visited their country.
“Anybody who tries to come and preach to this country that they should allow homosexuality, I think he’s totally lost,” said TNA lawmaker Jamleck Kamau, according to The Daily Nation. “And I would also like to add, our son from the U.S., Barack Obama, when he comes here, to simply avoid that topic completely because Kenyans will not be happy with him if he comes to bring the issue of homosexuality in this country.”
“Liberal thoughts are being entertained in some countries under the guise of human rights,” said Justin Muturi, the speaker of the National Assembly, to an Anglican Church congregation. “We must be vigilant and guard against it. We must lead an upright society and not allow obnoxious behavior as we have a responsibility to protect our children.”
Rose Mitaru, one of 47 female lawmakers in Kenya, said that allowing same-sex marriage in her country would open “floodgates of evil synonymous with the biblical Sodom and Gomorrah.”
Similarly, TNA lawmaker Cecily Mbarire urged the government to reject any foreign aid coming from groups whose goal it is to legalize same-sex marriage.
Deputy President William Ruto also said homosexuality was “against the plan of God” during a church sermon in Nairobi. “God did not create man and woman so that men would marry men and women marry women,” he was quoted as saying by The Daily Nation.
“Those who want to engage in those businesses, they can do it in their countries, and they can do it wherever it is they want,” Ruto said. “In Kenya, we will stand firm.”
Kenyan religious leaders have been warning the United States for several years about the harmful influence of the militant LGBT agenda on culture and society. In 2013, Kenyan Cardinal John Njue, Archbishop of Nairobi and president of the Kenyan Episcopal Conference, joined other African leaders in open dismissal of Obama’s calls for acceptance of same-sex marriage when the American president visited Africa at that time.
“Those people who have already ruined their society…let them not become our teachers to tell us where to go,” said Njue in response to Obama’s statements promoting same-sex marriage. “I think we need to act according to our own traditions and our faiths.”
Similarly, Ruto rebuked Obama for promoting same-sex marriage in Africa during his visit. Speaking at a Catholic Church, Ruto said, “Those who believe in other things, that is their business…We believe in God.”
White House press secretary Josh Earnest said on Monday that Obama would not avoid the topic of the gay agenda during his visit.
“I’m confident the president will not hesitate to make clear that the protection of basic universal human rights in Kenya is also a priority and consistent with the values that we hold dear here in the United States of America,” Earnest said.
In June, the U.S.’s openly gay ambassadors announced that Obama’s proposed trade agreements “will export our values of equality and tolerance,” and “promote greater justice beyond our borders.”
In an op-ed at The Advocate.com, which also ran at White House.gov, the eight openly gay U.S. representatives abroad said “trade policy” is one of the “most promising tools” to advance the meme that the LGBT agenda is the agenda that expresses America’s “values.”
The op-ed’s authors stated they are already promoting the Trans-Pacific Partnership (TPP) and the Transatlantic Trade and Investment Partnership (T-TIP) abroad.
“In speaking about these agreements, we often use the word ‘values,’” they wrote. “We promote transparency, public participation, accountability and the rule of law, and we advocate for our host countries to join us in setting the global standard.”
They continued:
After all, an export is more than just an item we are shipping overseas. It is also a product of the values of the people who created it, which it represents. And while the United States has made important progress in promoting and protecting the human rights of all of its residents, we are constantly reminded of the challenges LGBTI persons continue to face in countries around the world.
We are proud to be part of an Administration that remains deeply committed to the advancement of human rights for all, including LGBTI persons. President Obama recently said that “all people deserve to live free from fear, violence, and discrimination, regardless of who they are or whom they love.” The Administration has backed up those words with actions, including through the issuance of a Presidential Memorandum to advance the human rights of LGBTI persons worldwide. This commitment is also clear in trade priorities like TPP, which would represent a significant expansion of enforceable labor rights, and would support the elimination of discrimination with respect to employment.
The op-ed was signed by the following openly gay ambassadors:
Daniel B. Baer, U.S. Ambassador to the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe
John Berry, U.S. Ambassador to Australia
Randy Berry, Special Envoy for the Human Rights of LGBTI Persons
James W. Brewster, U.S. Ambassador to Dominican Republic
James Costos, U.S. Ambassador to Spain
Rufus Gifford, U.S. Ambassador to Denmark
Robert Holleyman, Deputy United States Trade Representative
Ted Osius, U.S. Ambassador to Vietnam

'president' does not believe in the 'rule of law'

illegal_aliens

A conservative congressman says the murder of a San Francisco woman by an illegal immigrant deported five times is a microcosm of the border security dereliction of the Obama administration and liberal city leaders choosing to reward criminal behavior.
Rep. Louie Gohmert, R-Texas, also addressed the fierce debate within the Republican presidential field, taking care to avoid characterizing any candidate but leaving no doubt what he thinks the GOP’s policy position ought to be.
The immigration debate took on a more personal dimension over Independence Day weekend, as 32-year-old Kate Steinle was randomly murdered by 45-year-old Juan Francisco Lopez-Sanchez. The killer, who has since confessed, has been convicted of seven felonies and deported five separate times.
Gohmert said similar stories have played out far too often as the Obama administration effectively waves illegals across the border.
“It’s very easy to explain when you have a president who does not believe in the rule of law, who has pandered to people who are illegally in the country,” Gohmert said in an interview with WND and Radio America. “All we can figure is, he thinks that if they can just get people who are illegally the right to vote before they understand the responsibilities of trying to keep a democratic republic, then it will give the Democrats all power for all time.”
According to Gohmert, the Steinle murder is hardly an isolated incident. He said the House Judiciary Committee, of which he is a member, received very disturbing numbers from Immigration and Customs Enforcement on the extent of violent crimes committed by illegal immigrants in Fiscal Year 2014 alone.
“These individuals have been convicted of 79,059 crimes, including 175 homicides, 373 sexual assaults, 186 kidnappings (and) 14,014 impaired driving offenses. It just goes on and on. This is making America less safe,” he said, noting both the federal government and city governments must stop rewarding criminals.

Listen to the WND/Radio America interview with Rep. Louie Gohmert, R-Texas:
http://www.wnd.com/2015/07/obama-scheme-gives-democrats-power-for-all-time/

“If the president’s going to protect America, if our city leaders are going to protect America, the cities can’t be this haven for people who broke the law and would kill a beautiful young lady like we had in San Francisco,” Gohmert said. “And the federal government has got to stop encouraging illegal immigration.”
The congressman said the Steinle murder struck close to home for him, and he said the policy of San Francisco and other “sanctuary cities” needs to be revisited right away.
“Having three daughters, I’m particularly sensitive to these things. But to have her shot so senselessly, randomly, right there in front of her parents, would never have happened if San Francisco were not a city that just welcomed people who violated our immigration laws. It is a sanctuary city,” said Gohmert, meaning San Francisco and other cities have laws refusing to hold people whose only known offense is coming to the U.S. illegally.
Lopez-Sanchez has seven felonies on his record. San Francisco and the federal government are now engaged in a blame game over which is responsible for the killer being loose in the first place. The federal government asserts Lopez-Sanchez was in custody and about to be deported for a sixth time when he was handed over to the city to face a drug charge and should never have been released when those charges were dropped. San Francisco officials say it was the federal government’s job to have a warrant ready to go when the drug case concluded.

WB-How-Left_Plans-To-Win  Gohmert said illegal aliens create trouble for law-abiding citizens, even when there is no violent crime involved. He contends a recent account from a teenage constituent is a perfect example.
“She and her single mom were trying to make ends meet. An illegal alien hit her car,” he said. “He had no driver’s license, no insurance. He was allowed to drive off in his car. Hers was totaled. It just made things crazy for these poor girls. It’s just outrageous that this president would not be more sympathetic to the plight of Americans dealing with crime in America.”
Just as maddening to Gohmert as what he sees as the Obama administration refusing to enforce immigration law is the president’s insistence that border security is operating at record efficiency.
“It may just be because our president doesn’t know enough about our history,” he said. “I’m sure they didn’t teach it in Indonesia, but the fact is, when he says nobody has done more to secure the border than I have, or words to that effect, it’s simply not true.”
The congressman said the border was far more secure after President Woodrow Wilson (not a favorite of Gohmert’s) effectively sealed the border after Mexican revolutionary Pancho Villa conducted numerous murderous raids into the United States. On Wilson’s orders, thousands of forces clamped down on the southern border.
“The border was secure,” Gohmert said. “Nobody came in unless we wanted them to.
“This president could do more. Of course, you remember (former Homeland Security Secretary) Janet Napolitano just announced one day, ‘Hey, the four billion dollars or so that was appropriated by Congress for virtual fence? I’m not going to do that. I’m going to spend the money elsewhere.’ This administration not only encourages people to violate our immigration law but it violates the laws regularly themselves.”
The killing of Kate Steinle poured rhetorical gasoline onto an already combustible debate within the 2016 Republican presidential field over the issue of illegal immigration.
Billionaire real-estate developer Donald Trump immediate stirred the pot in announcing his White House bid.
“[Mexico is] sending people that have lots of problems, and they’re bringing those problems with us. They’re bringing drugs. They’re bringing crime. They’re rapists, and some I assume are good people,” said Trump on June 16.
Several other GOP hopefuls have denounced Trump both for his language and for his alleged inaccuracy.
“He’s doing this to inflame and to incite and to draw attention, which seems to be his organizing principle of his campaign,” said former Gov. Jeb Bush, R-Fla. “He doesn’t represent the Republican Party or its values.”
Gohmert is not wading into the back-and-forth between candidates, but he said he trusts the assessment of the U.S. Border Patrol, and its assessment is sobering.
“Many of them have told me there is not a single mile of the U.S.-Mexico border that is not under the auspices of some drug lord. And you don’t cross that border into the United States without permission from that drug lord. If you do, they’ll find you in the United States and kill you,” said Gohmert, who added that many illegals come across and claim they are refugees from deadly gang violence in their home countries.
After a brief interrogation, it is usually discovered that gangs are not the reason for their illegal migration but the means for shuttling them across the border.
The congressman said the proper approach for Republicans should be obvious. First, he said there should be nothing but admiration for Hispanic families who come here legally, since they value the intact family as high as this country did in the past.
“It’s a generalization, but it’s a pretty good generalization that Hispanics love God, are devoted to God, love family, are devoted to family and they have a hard work ethic,” Gohmert said. “Those are the kind of things that made America great. We need more of that. We need more of what the Hispanic can bring before we co-opt it and teach them other ways.”
However, he said, that admiration has to be tempered by a strict adherence to the law.
“They have to come in legally,” he said. “To just disregard the rule of the law makes us like the countries in central America or Mexico that they’re fleeing.”
Opposition to legal status or even a pathway to citizenship for those illegally in the U.S. has long been described as unrealistic, and now Republicans and Democrats accuse people who hold that position of being hateful or even racist. Gohmert flatly rejects the label.
“It’s ridiculous to say it’s racist if you want people who commit crimes to be punished for those crimes,” he said. “Having been a former felony judge, many times people accused me of being mean, but I followed the law. I was fair across the board, and that’s what we have to do. It’s part of the price of maintaining this democratic republic, as (Benjamin) Franklin said, if we want to keep it.”

Dr. Hal Huggins on Dental Implants and Bone Grafts

Realization dawns:

The dangers of amalgam

An article by Dr Hal Huggins DDS, MS.

Dr. Hal Huggins on Dental Implants and Bone Grafts

Some people recognise the name Huggins as synonymous with Mr. Mercury. In 1973 I was lecturing at an international meeting in Mexico City on the topic of using blood chemistry monitoring to guide patients into a lifestyle free from dental decay. Dr. Olympio Pinto (of Rio de Janeiro) introduced me to the concept that mercury came out of dental silver-mercury amalgam fillings and made patients sick. Sometimes lethally ill.
I was appalled and insulted by the idea, because at that time I taught a course on 4 and 6 handed dentistry (a one dentist and 1 or 2 assistants team) to efficiently place silver ‘alloys’ smoothly and rapidly. I was too proud of the technique I taught to call fillings amalgams, they were prestigious metallic ‘alloys’, or scientific mixtures of safe metals.

US Army plans to cut 40,000 troops

U S ARMY PLANS TO CUT 40,000 TROOPS

The U.S. Army is reportedly cutting 40,000 troops in the next two years. That cut doesn't include the number that could be lost due to sequestration. Video provided by Newsy Newslook

The Army plans to cut 40,000 soldiers from its ranks over the next two years, a reduction that will affect virtually all of its domestic and foreign posts, the service asserts in a document obtained by USA TODAY.
The potential troop cut comes as the Obama administration is pondering its next moves against the Islamic State militant group in Iraq and Syria. President Obama said Monday he and military leaders had not discussed sending additional troops to Iraq to fight the Islamic State. There are about 3,500 troops in Iraq.
"This will not be quick — this is a long-term campaign," Obama said at the Pentagon after meeting top military brass in the wake of setbacks that have prompted critics to call for a more robust U.S. response against the Islamic State.
An additional 17,000 Army civilian employees would be laid off under the plan officials intend to announce this week. Under the plan, the Army would have 450,000 soldiers by Sept. 30, 2017, the end of the 2017 budget year. The reduction in troops and civilians is due to budget constraints, the document says.
The Pentagon's budget, released in February, envisioned the reduction to 450,000 would occur by Sept. 30, 2018.
Some of the cuts were expected. During the peak of fighting in Iraq and Afghanistan, the Army swelled to about 570,000 soldiers to ensure that deployments could be limited to one year. After most troops came home from those wars, the Army planned to shrink.
The Army should bottom out at 450,000 soldiers, said Michael O'Hanlon, a military analyst at the Brookings Institution.
Cutting "more would make me quite nervous," he said.
The Army declined to comment on the proposed reductions in its forces.
If the automatic budget cuts known as sequestration, set to begin in October, take place the Army would have to slash another 30,000 soldiers, according to the document. At that level, the Army would not be able to meet its current deployments and respond to demands for troops in other regions.
Among the proposed changes, brigades at Fort Benning, Ga., and Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson in Alaska will be downsized from units of about 4,000 soldiers to battalion task forces of 1,050 soldiers.
Downsizing Army forces in Alaska "makes no strategic sense," said Sen. Dan Sullivan, a Republican member of the Armed Services committee from Alaska. The White House emphasis on shifting military assets to the Asia-Pacific region and concerns about Russian aggression in the Arctic require strong forces in Alaska.
"One person who's going to be very pleased with this is Vladimir Putin," Sullivan said.
The Army overall will require more than 450,000 soldiers because the number of national security challenges around the world have "risen dramatically" in the past few years.
In 2013, the Army maintained in budget documents that dipping below 450,000 soldiers could prevent it from prevailing in a war.

Orthodox Doctors are Full of Misinformation

Orthodox Doctors are Full of Misinformation

July 8, 2015 under Medicine
http://carolynthomas.files.wordpress.com/2010/10/trust-me-t-shirt.jpg?w=584

Recently I have had some harsh words to say to mainstream doctors and by implication, their local medical boards, parent medical organizations, pharmaceutical companies and governments who sponsor medical terrorism. I am publishing this essay to make it clear that I do not feel this way about all doctors for there are fine doctors out there who are honest and sincere and understand the fundamentals and practice of a type of medicine that actually helps people. Unfortunately this is not the rule with most following in lockstep with the lies and deceit that is the bread and butter of the medical industrial establishment.
Medical ignorance about Magnesium

Watch the Video

Dr. Richard Horton, the current editor-in-chief of the Lancet – considered to be one of the most well respected peer-reviewed medical journals in the world, recently published a statement declaring that a lot of published research is in fact unreliable at best, if not completely false. “The case against science is straightforward: much of the scientific literature, perhaps half, may simply be untrue. Afflicted by studies with small sample sizes, tiny effects, invalid exploratory analyses, and flagrant conflicts of interest, together with an obsession for pursuing fashionable trends of dubious importance, science has taken a turn towards darkness.”
Charles Hugh Smith, a well-respected writer in the financial area recently published and essay entitled, ‘If Your BS Detector Isn't Shrieking, It's Broken.’ He said, “Wishing it was true doesn't make it true--it makes you a chump who fell for the con. Once upon a time in America, no adult could survive without possessing a finely tuned BS detector. An essential component of the American ethos is: don't be a chump. Don't fall for the con. And if you do, it's your own fault.
“We now inhabit a world where virtually everything is a con. That "organic" produce from some other country--did anyone test the soil the produce grew in? It could be loaded with heavy metals and be certified "organic" because no pesticides were used during production. But what about last year? And the year before? What's in the water used to irrigate the crops,” asks Smith.
It is hard not to think about doctors when talking about con games. The entire medical system is a con, a sleazy mix of lies and deception where medical studies are often not worth the paper they are printed on yet the FDA swallows medical studies as if they were chapters out of the bible.
Most Americans are snookered into the medical system believing that what doctors’ offer will save their lives and prevent a lot of suffering. The majority of people believe in the medical pharmaceutical con--that the snake-oil remedies with all the side effects will actually cure their ailments. Many people believe this fantasy and are willing to bankrupt themselves and their families in the desperate and misguided need to believe.
Most doctors have no idea about basic medicine and could care less about their patients’ diets, emotional status or breathing patterns. They do not even give a hoot for nutritional deficiencies even though they are one of the most basic causes of all disease.
There is the average misguided doctor who probably believes in what he is doing, but does not take the time to read from many sources what the truth about medicine is. Then there are really bad doctors who make money with deliberate acts of cruelty and are up for hire, like prostitutes, to promote the pharmaceutical agenda. The truth about medicine is that it causes unending suffering through chronic diseases, which the mainstream practice of medicine has no idea of how to resolve.

Most doctors only manage chronic diseases. Only the finest doctors cure anyone because they have the intelligence and courage to step out of the pharmaceutical box and practice real medicine that works as it is supposed to.

Is it Murder?

In the prominent medical journal The BMJ, Denmark-based researcher Dr. Peter C. Gøtzsche contended that taking antidepressants could increase a person’s risk of dying prematurely, that the drugs do little for patients over a placebo and that these medicines should be scrapped altogether. Gøtzsche estimated there were likely 15 times more suicides among people taking antidepressants than reported by the Food and Drug Administration, which issued a black-box warning on antidepressants more than a decade ago.
In the flu vaccine, there is a whopping 51,000 ppb (parts per billion) of mercury in the multi-dose flu vaccine—the most common type of flu vaccine given. How much is 51,000 ppb? It is 25,000 times the legal maximum for mercury in drinking water established by the Environmental Protection Agency. Keep in mind that when you inject mercury, it is 100% absorbed so it is more toxic to inject it as compared to eating it in fish or drinking it in water. Do pediatricians rise up against the CDC and complain?
As far as I am concerned pediatricians, who inject children with the flu vaccine are criminals but like everything else, people are conned and very few complain.
We could go on all day citing one drug or unnecessary medical procedure after another. No one disputes that orthodox medicine is dangerous. No one claims that it has a cure for chronic disease. There is little to no kindness in mainstream medicine because they are too busy making money practicing a form of human butchery that maims and kills people by the hundreds of thousands a year around the world.
