Gun maker that won the West goes bankrupt after 179 years: Colt Defense files for Chapter 11 protection after sales drop

U.S. legendary gun maker Colt Defense LLC announced it filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection late Sunday due to weak popular sales and government orders.

The 179-year-old creator of 'the gun that won the West' said it initiated the voluntary chapter 11 filing after creditors rejected an appeal to restructure its debt.

Its current sponsor, Sciens Capital Management LLC, agreed to act as a 'stalking horse' bidder, Colt said.

Colt also said it intended to continue normal business operations through the accelerated sale process with the help of $20 million in credit facilities that its existing lenders have agreed to provide.

In its filing, Colt estimated that it owes up to $500 million to up to 50 creditors. 

The company, which makes recreational guns as well as the M4 and M16 military rifles, also listed assets of up to $500 million.

'The plan we are announcing and have filed today will allow Colt to restructure its balance sheet while meeting all of its obligations to customers, vendors, suppliers and employees and providing for maximum continuity in the Company's current and future business operations,' said Keith Maib, Chief Restructuring Officer of Colt Defense LLC.

'While entering Chapter 11 protection in the absence of a consensual agreement with our noteholders was not our preference and we do not take it lightly, we are confident it is the best path going forward and will enable us to continue to gain traction on a challenging but achievable turnaround in our business performance and competitive positioning in the international, U.S. government and consumer marketplaces.'

Sciens Capital proposed to buy all of Colt's assets and assume secured liabilities and those related to employees, customers, vendors, and trade creditors, Colt said in a statement.

Sales of Colt's modern sports rifles and handguns fell 30 per cent last year and cash dwindled to $11.1 million by May 22, according to regulatory filings.

Colt Defense, whose M1911 was the primary sidearm for the U.S. military for most of last century, missed a $10.9 million payment last month to holders of $250 million in its senior bonds.

The gun maker warned bondholders in April of 'increasing liquidity challenges as a result of several recent business trends.'

These trends included a drop in demand for Colt handguns and delays in the timing of US government sales, including foreign military sales through the US government.

The current management team led by President and CEO Dennis Veilleux will remain in place throughout the process which is expected to be completed within 60 to 90 days, Colt said.

Perella Weinberg Partners L.P. served as financial advisor to the company, while Mackinac Partners LLC served as the restructuring advisor.

Colt dates back to 1836 when inventor Samuel Colt revolutionized the firearms world by creating the first revolver.

We can thank Samuel S. Epstein and many others for shining a light on
an institution that is more concerned with lining their pockets than
stopping cancer - the American Cancer Society (ACS). Hopefully, after reading highlights from this more than 100-page document outlining the shady dealings of the American Cancer Society with Big Pharma and its neglect in discussing environmental factors which add to cancer rates, (highlights here) you will boycott them all and leave them with nothing
but lint in their pockets.

It's over-reported news by now, that the cancer industry is a
multi-billion dollar cash machine. The only way that machine can keep running is when information - such as the ways natural solutions like
soursop fruit or turmeric can halt cancerous cell growth - is suppressed,
and instead, the agenda's of large multi-national corporations who stand
to make money off of people's illnesses get their message to the masses. One of the institutions helping Big Pharma get their backwards message
of radiation and chemotherapy as cancer solutions to the masses is the ACS.

The American Cancer Society also promotes companies who make cancer drugs, and totally skip over some of the natural and simple treatments
that are offered by Mother Nature. It doesn't do a single study on
how GMOs affect cancer rates, or other environmental toxins - like oil spills, chemtrails, polluted water, etc. The company has close ties to
the makers of mammography equipment as well. They also receive
financial support from the biotech industry, cosmetic companies, the
junk food industry and petro-chemical companies.

 

Just one example of how the ACS is corrupt can be seen with their 'awareness' push for breast cancer. Big pharma giant AstraZeneca
has made multimillion dollar contributions to ACS, influencing just
about everything that the ACS does - every poster, leaflet or
commercial product about Breast Cancer Awareness you can think of.
These publications focus almost exclusively on mammography and
don't mention a word about carcinogenic foods, chemtrails, aluminum
in deodorants, or antiperspirants.. There is no spoken word of breast
cancer prevention via natural, inexpensive means, while touting the
'cure' of mammography and cancer drugs.

Is this really the organization you want to get your anti-cancer advice from? In this crazy world, you have to always be aware of the money
trail. It pervades almost every industry, and keeps real, helpful
information from being disseminated to the masses. Instead of

I have lost numerous family and friends to cancer and I believe all of
them may have lived longer and more comfortable lives without the "conventional" treatments. These treatments are too destructive and
inflict a lot of pain on those who take them.                                                                                                                                         
and yes, I believe that it has all of the traits of a satanic cult. 
The cause of cancer was discovered by a scientist by the name of Otto Warburg.  He received a Nobel Prize in 1931 for this discovery, but
the medical community must have had other plans.  This discovery says
that cancer cannot exist in an oxygen-rich environment.  So the best
way to prevent cancer is to make sure the body is getting the proper nutrients in order to keep oxygen in the system.  The primary way to
do this is to have a healthy diet.

If you know the cause of the problem, then the solution is just as easy.  Yet, the medical community pushes this toxic crap on the patients. 
Chemo and radiation cause even more cancer and it doesn't address
the underlying cause.  I was able to beat cancer by simply modifying
imy diet and taking 3000 mgs of calcium.  

 But there are many other ways to beat cancer.  The writer says that turmeric is effective in fighting cancer.  Vitamin C and Vitamin B17
(apricot seeds) also help.  There are many different ways to achieve a
cure for cancer, but there's not much money in the solution.  Some of these things should be added to the diet to keep the body strong against cancer.  One doctor in Italy, Dr. Simoncini claims that cancer is a fungus and he cures it with simple baking soda.  He even has a video of an operation showing the baking soda working on a tumor.

The current medical system is an abomination.  My experience is that there's no limit to the number of drugs doctors will prescribe without knowing anything about the reaction of mingling so many drugs and their
side effects.  With the internet, there is no excuse for people not to
do their own research about any medical issue.  In fact, I would consider
it extremely stupid for people to completely trust doctors with their healthcare.

This is a great article you posted. Cancer can be cured. All one has to
look at is canibis for example. It has been proven to cure it, but the medical profession does not want to heal it. We can see happen to doctor Stanislaw Burzynski who was able to cure cancer. He did a documentary called Cancer is Serious Business which tells the story of medical doctor Stanislaw Burzynski in his problems with the Food and Drug Administration and the Texas Department of Health. These two agencies tried to do everything to shut him down by even threatening him with jail time for daring to provide a cure for cancer. This proves the government has no desire to cure cancer, but instead wants to slowly kill the population by keeping them dumb down.

We can also look at Dr. Leonard Gerson who developed the Gerson diet
in the 1930s for curing cancer. The government did want him to do this.
A friend of mine told me the story of how the medical industry literally killed her mother. She was a German citizen and had developed cancer.
The doctors gave her radiation and chemo. This did nothing for her. It
got so bad that she literally could not drink the water she was given. My friend mother told her daughter that the doctors were literally killing her from the inside out. The family could not sue the doctors since they protected from any form of malpractice. This proves how big pharma goes to protect those in the medical industry who do their work.

As a physician, I was attending a national conference on breast cancer
2 years ago. When the speaker discussed the role of diet, I brought
up the issues of GMOs and scientific evidence, that a 100% organic vegetarian diet prevents or cures, in many patients, diabetes,
hypertension, high cholesterol, heart attack, stroke and even some
cancers. (These are the leading causes of mortality and morbidity in
the world.)

The speaker kinda brushed me off. Later, when I spoke with him in
person, I realized he was not allowed to discuss these!

I was even more surprised that the audience, almost all physicians and surgeons, seemed to have almost no concept of GMOs.

Most people just think inside the box.

I stepped out of the box several years ago. I try to give these
information to my patients. Most of them appreciate it. But some of
the farmers who use GMO, get upset and don't want to see me again.

However, one day a gentleman opened his heart to me tell me and said
he has no choice and can not go organic because of his debts to the
banks, and because organic farming is much more labor intensive and
does not have the high yield of GMO.

I think great majority of the farmers are good people. But they also
think inside the box and, as one organic farmer said, "they are lazy".

Regarding vegetarian diet, There is a documentary called "Forks Over Knives", done by two well known physicians in the U.S. It discusses diet
and disease. There is a patient with diabetes, heart disease, high cholesterol and obesity. She requires insulin to control her blood sugar. When she changed her diet to pure vegetarian and walked every day,
she lost weight and went off of ALL of her medications (about 8)! It did
not happen overnight; it took her two years. But no more medicine.

There are other factors. I think people are responsible too. They don't
eat right and don't exercise. They also smoke, drink too much alcohol,
use too much sugar and animal fat. The fast food is the worst. Of
course there is too much advertising, and the fast food has been made intentionally cheap and easily accessible. Average person also may not
be able to afford organic.

I think we should consider these factors: money, medical industry,
training, media, advertising, laziness of people and farmers, lack of knowledge for a healthy diet, chemicals, preservatives, plastic and
Teflon dishes, etc. and of course the psychopaths who run the world
and create pollution, wars, famine, etc. for others, while they stay
away from all of these harmful factors and have their own organic
farms and gardens.

It is no secret that US healthcare corporations have been among, if not the biggest beneficiaries of Obamacare: by "socializing" costs and spreading the reimbursement pool over the entire population in the form of a tax, pharmaceutical companies have been able to boost medical product and service costs to unprecedented levels with the help of complicit insurance companies who have subsequently passed through these costs to the consumer, in the process sending the price of biotech and pharma stocks to levels not seen since the dot com bubble. But when it came to the highly confidential TPP, it was unclear just which corporations were dominant in pulling the strings. Now thanks to more documents published by Wikileaks, and analyzed by the NYT, it appears that "BIG PHARMA" is once again pulling the strings, this time of the Trans Pacific Partnership, which if passed will "empower big pharmaceutical firms to command higher reimbursement rates in the United States and abroad, at the expense of consumers" according to "public health professionals, generic-drug makers and activists opposed to the trade deal."

In other words, just like the narrowly-passed Obamacare was a gift for big Pharma, so America's legal drug dealers are now trying to go for another price boosting catalyst, one which however will involve not just the US but some 12 countries in the Asia-Pacific region. Worst of all, the negotiations for the next price increase is taking place in utmost secrecy where "American negotiators are still pressing participating governments to open the process that sets reimbursement rates for drugs and medical devices."

As RT notes, the latest disclosure links the Healthcare Annex to the secret draft of the quite aptly-named "Transparency" Chapter of the TPP, along with each country's negotiating position. The leaked "Annex on transparency and procedural fairness for pharmaceutical products and medical devices" is dated from December 2014, with the draft being restricted from release for four years after the passage of the TPP into law.

As the NYT notes, "foreign governments and health care activists have accused pharmaceutical giants, mostly based in the United States, of protecting profits over public health, especially in poor countries where neither the government nor consumers can afford to pay rates anywhere close to those charged in wealthier nations. " That fight re-emerged in the Pacific trade negotiations, which involve countries with strong cost-containment policies, like New Zealand, as well as poor countries like Peru and Vietnam.   The agreement "will increase the cost of medicines worldwide, starting with the 12 countries that are negotiating the Trans-Pacific Partnership," said Judit Rius Sanjuan, a lawyer at Doctors Without Borders, a humanitarian organization that provides medical care in more than 60 countries.

 

None other than the CEO of Mylan explained in the simplest possible way what is going on: a government mandated monopoly under the guise of a trade pact: "Heather Bresch, the chief executive of Mylan, one of the largest generic-drug makers, said the brand-name pharmaceutical industry was "establishing, through U.S. trade policy, an international system designed to maximize its monopolies."

 

But where the alarm bells truly go off is when someone, anyone, uses the word "fair" to justify policy, such as surging  drug costs. To wit: "drug companies, however, say they need to be able to charge fair prices to compensate for the billions of dollars and decades of research that go into their medicines."

 

What is amusing is that the true motive behind the TPP's secrecy have been quite clear to virtually everyone but the population of the TPP's host nation:

 

"It was very clear to everyone except the U.S. that the initial proposal wasn't about transparency. It was about getting market access for the pharmaceutical industry by giving them greater access to and influence over decision-making processes around pricing and reimbursement," said Deborah Gleeson, a lecturer at the School of Psychology and Public Health at La Trobe University in Australia. And even though the section, known as the transparency annex, has been toned down, she said, "I think it's a shame that the annex is still being considered at all for the T.P.P."

 

RT adds that one country that should be in arms over the TPP is Australia:

 

The secret negotiations now allegedly reveal that Australia's Pharmaceutical Benefits Scheme might be undermined, pushing up the cost of medicines in the country.

 

  "United States trade negotiators have aggressively pushed for provisions favoring multinational pharmaceutical manufacturers at the expense of national governments and public healthcare systems," the Sydney Morning Herald wrote.

 

But the one place where the biggest price shock may be unleashed is, not surprisingly, the US itself :

 

The leaked TPP document "shows that the pact could expose Medicare to pharmaceutical company attacks and constrain future policy reforms, including the ability of the US government to curb rising and unsustainable drug prices," the US consumer rights advocacy group and think tank Public Citizen said in its Wednesday statement.

 

  The group says president Obama's administration has been "acting at the behest of pharmaceutical companies," and the secret negotiations it has been holding within the partnership might affect Medicare, limiting "Congress' ability to enact policy reforms that would reduce prescription drug costs for Americans."

 

The same Congress, incidentally, which gladly washed its hands of any discussion of the TPP when the Senate "fast-tracked" its passage and as the NYT further notes, "a House vote on final passage of the bill, now expected on Friday, appears extremely close."

 

In other words, in exchange for a few million in lobby spending, aka bribes, by Big Pharma, the US Congress has once again sold out the US population, and this time it even voluntarily bypassed even the mock democratic process of debating the law it will pass.

 

Why? Just so shareholders of pharmaceutical companies could reap even greater profits at the expense of not just the US population, but of the populations of some of the biggest US trading partners, all of whom are about to see the prices of medical care skyrocket.

 

And since nothing is confirmed until it is officially denied, here is the punchline:

 

"The transparency annex in T.P.P. is not subject to Investor-State Dispute Settlement, and nothing in its provisions will undermine our ability to pursue the best health care policy for Americans, including any future action on health care expenditures and cost containment," a trade representative spokesman said.

 

Those Americans who may wish to challenge the claim well, they are out of luck: Congress is about to make sure there is no way anyone can have a say into what big corporations have in store for the US population.

In the video below a man by the name of Dale Lewis, posted to his facebook page that there will be an EMP attack this June in Texas. He claims he was informed through a friend who was approached by a solider about the coming disaster. He believes this is somehow linked to Jade Helm. There is no way to confirm or deny what Dale is claiming, however considering the current circumstances I felt people should be aware of something like this, just in case. 

 

After all, don’t you think our young men and women who serve this country would give us some type of warning, knowing full well they would get into trouble if they did warn the public. Maybe this is their way of alerting us without themselves getting noticed. Or maybe this is simply some sort of ploy or hoax.

 

Personally I don’t feel an EMP will happen over Texas, however in the event that it does, then at least I can rest peacefully knowing you were warned…

Steve I put together some information regarding the FEMA/DHS take-over of Ham Radio. I thought you might like to read it. Feel free to share it with others.
Home Land Security has co-opted Amateur Radio. Not long after Home Land Security was created they started giving out Grants to Amateur Radio Clubs and Organization. The local county government was brought into the picture as well. Someone was given the title of Emergency Coordinator for the county and operated out of the Emergency Operations Center which was usually a county owned location.
A “SELECT GROUP” of local hams were put in charge of all county emergency Amateur Radio operations with the complete support of DHS, FEMA, and the local county government. CERT (Community Emergency Response Team) was created and tied to FEMA. CERT and the Emergency Coordinator became a group of people who were trained by DHS and FEMA. Grants were given to develop local wide area Amateur Radio Repeater Systems which gave hand held radios much greater range. At the time CERT was brought into existence the FCC did away with all Code requirements for Amateur Radio Licensing. CERT needed many new Entry Level Amateur Radio Operators which would not be possible unless the level of radio operator proficiency was lowered for licensing. The Code Requirement being eliminated and Published Amateur Radio Question Pools dropped the difficulty of obtaining a Entry Level Amateur Radio License to the point six and seven year olds were becoming licensed Amateur Radio Operators.
If you decide to use Amateur Radio as a mode of communications in the upcoming economic crash and or martial law scenarios please be advised your Local Amateur Radio Club is filled with people who have close ties to FEMA and DHS. My suggestion would be not to seek help in learning about Amateur Radio by joining a Local Ham Radio Club. Find an older Amateur Radio Operator and see if he is part of the New Ham Radio/FEMA/DHS system. Many of the old Amateur Radio Operators had to work hard for their license and actually know how to build antennas and work on their radio equipment. The majority of new Hams are ‘Appliance Operators” and know nothing about building antenna systems and hands on radio operating.
Amateur Radio was taken over by FEMA and DHC. What was once a pool of trained radio operators available to help in time of emergency has become a pool of poorly trained and equipped individuals. The average new ham has a dual band talkie and can only communicate a few city block without a Repeater Station. FEMA and DHS wanted people with limited skill sets and minimal equipment to fill the CERT positions as they required only limited range radio equipment and a warm body.
I firmly believe Amateur Radio was dumbed down to keep the number of radio operators who were capable of communication over long distances to a minimum while supplying CERT members. CERT and the Local Ham Radio Club are very much like the Clergy Response Teams developed by FEMA / DHS. They are designed to serve the interest of the government and not the people. They look like a good thing until you peel back the layers and see the real reasons for their existence.
I have held Commercial and Amateur Radio Licenses for over 55 years and witnessed the changes first hand. I was one of a very few Amateur Radio operators who spoke out against the FREE STUFF from the federal government because I knew there would be conditions attached that would not be good for Amateur Radio. Shortwave Radio Operators were on the MIAC Report as potential terrorist not Ham Radio Operators in general. Vatican Speaker on Climate Thinks There are 6 Billion Too Many of Us

VATICAN SPEAKER ON 'CLIMATE' THINKS THERE ARE 6 BILLION TOO MANY OF US - THEY SHOULD FULLY OWN AND CONTROL THE WORLD AND THROW YOU AND ME OFF THE PLANET!

One of the speakers slated for the Vatican rollout of the long-awaited Papal document on climate change once said the earth is overpopulated by at least 6 billion people.

The teaching document, called an encyclical, is scheduled for release on June 18 at Vatican City. Perhaps with the exception of the 1968 encyclical on contraception, no Vatican document has been greeted with such anticipation.


The political left is hoping for a document that ties belief in global warming to a religious obligation.
Climate skeptics have already started criticizing the document.


The choice of Professor John Schnellnhuber, founding director of the Postdam Institute for Climate Impact Research, as one of three presenters may be giving the left added hope and giving skeptics severe heartburn.


He has been described as one of the more aggressive scientists on the question of man-made global warming.


In a talk given to what’s described as the “failed” 2009 Copenhagen climate conference, reported in the New York Times, Schnellnhuber, who has advised German President Angela Merkel and is a visiting professor at Oxford, said of global warming: “In a very cynical way, it’s a triumph for science because at last we have stabilized something –- namely the estimates for the carrying capacity of the planet, namely below 1 billion people.”


(ALL that VACANT land out there - MILLIONS AND MILLIONS OF  ACRES OF VACANT LAND - all around this planet - no-one living on it, nor farming it, nor draining water from it nor throwing trash on it - all that vacant land is 'over populated' according to these nutcakes, and we 'useless eaters' must be 'eliminated' so that vacant land can't and won't be abused.)


Schnellnhuber is also author of what’s called the “two-degree target” that says governments must not allow the temperature to rise more than 2 degrees higher than at the start of the industrial revolution. Any higher, the theory holds, and much life on earth would either perish or be gravely harmed.


(WHAT? Are they saying we can't go to the beach anymore?  Or that if the sun should bring an especially warm day, that the population of this planet should gather together and sing KumBahYah to the sun and water it with bazooka squirt guns to cool it down?  These people are frick'n nuts.)


To deal with climate issues, he has also called for an “Earth Constitution that would transcend the UN Charter” along with the creation of a “Global Council…elected by all the people on Earth” and a “Planetary Court..a transnational legal body open to appeals from everybody, especially with respect to violations of the Earth Constitution.”


(Folks, what you are reading about here is a one world 'government' of tyranny in its worst and most horrific forms, of manipulation and control, of elimination of mankind in the name of over population and a time in history heretofore unknown to mankind.)
