conclusion of his visit to Vietnam:

Minister of Finance Truong Chi Trung for their warm welcome and very
productive exchange of views.
“In my meetings, I emphasized that the IMF is a long-term and
committed partner for Vietnam. We see our partnership growing stronger
as we work together to foster macroeconomic stability and reforms to
support robust, sustainable and equitable growth in Vietnam’s economy
over the medium term.
“I commended Vietnam for its macroeconomic stabilization gains since
early 2011 and its achievements over the past two and half decades,
including a remarkable economic transformation, high growth rates,
integration into the global economy, higher living standards, lower
poverty, and for reaching almost all of the Millennium Development
Goals.
“Our discussions focused on how to broaden and sustain these
achievements through continued macroeconomic and financial stability
which focuses on the quality—rather than the quantity—of growth,
acceleration of structural reforms and further regional and global
integration.
“While economic prospects for Vietnam remain favorable, I encouraged
the authorities to improve the country’s fiscal and external positions. A
growth friendly fiscal consolidation would reduce the public debt to
GDP ratio, while supportive and appropriately flexible macroeconomic
policies would help cushion external shocks and allow further
accumulation of international reserves. Accelerating reforms to the
banking and state-owned enterprise sectors will help achieve greater
economic efficiency.

A 2010 Pentagon directive on military support to civilian authorities details what critics say is a troubling policy that envisions the Obama administration’s potential use of military force against Americans. The directive contains noncontroversial provisions on support to civilian fire and emergency services, special events and the domestic use of the Army Corps of Engineers. The troubling aspect of the directive outlines presidential authority for the use of military arms and forces, including unarmed drones, in operations against domestic unrest.
“This appears to be the latest step in the 'administration’s' decision to use force within the United States against its citizens,” said a defense official opposed to the directive. Directive No. 3025.18, “Defense Support of Civil Authorities,” was issued Dec. 29, 2010, and states that U.S. commanders “are provided emergency authority under this directive.” “Federal military forces shall not be used to quell civil disturbances unless specifically authorized by the president in accordance with applicable law or permitted under emergency authority,” the directive states. “In these circumstances, those federal military commanders have the authority, in extraordinary emergency circumstances where prior authorization by the president is impossible and duly constituted local authorities are unable to control the situation, to engage temporarily in activities that are necessary to quell large-scale, unexpected civil disturbances” under two conditions. The conditions include military support needed “to prevent significant loss of life or wanton destruction of property and are necessary to restore governmental function and public order.” A second use is when federal, state and local authorities “are unable or decline to provide adequate protection for federal property or federal governmental functions.” “Federal action, including the use of federal military forces, is authorized when necessary to protect the federal property or functions,” the directive states. Military assistance can include loans of arms, ammunition, vessels and aircraft. The directive states clearly that it is for engaging civilians during times of unrest. A U.S. official said the Obama administrationconsidered but rejected deploying military force under the directive during the recent standoff with Nevada rancher Cliven Bundyand his armed supporters. Mr. Bundy is engaged in a legal battle with the federal Bureau of Land Management over unpaid grazing fees. Along with a group of protesters, Mr. Bundy in April confronted federal and local authorities in a standoff that ended when the authorities backed down. The Pentagondirective authorizes the secretary of defense to approve the use of unarmed drones in domestic unrest. But it bans the use of missile-firing unmanned aircraft. “Use of armed [unmanned aircraft systems] is not authorized,” the directive says. Defense analysts say there has been a buildup of military units within non-security-related federal agencies, notably the creation of Special Weapons and Tactics (SWAT) teams. The buildup has raised questions about whether the Obama administration is undermining civil liberties under the guise of counterterrorism and counternarcotics efforts. Other agencies with SWAT teams reportedly include the Department of Agriculture, the Railroad Retirement Board, the Tennessee Valley Authority, the Office of Personnel Management, the Consumer Product Safety Commission, the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service and the Education Department. The militarization of federal agencies, under little-known statues that permit deputization of security officials, comes as the White House has launched verbal attacks on private citizens’ ownership of firearms despite the fact that most gun owners are law-abiding citizens. A White House National Security Council spokeswoman declined to comment. President Obama stated at the National Defense University a year ago: “I do not believe it would be constitutional for the government to target and kill any U.S. citizen — with a drone or with a shotgun — without due process, nor should any president deploy armed drones over U.S. soil.” A Pentagon official who defended the directive said it was signed in December 2010 after four years of thorough consultations within the Pentagon and with other federal agencies The 2010 directive replaced several previously published directives in 1980, 1991, and 1993. The last time military forces were used to quell civil unrest was 1906 following the San Francisco earthquake to protect the federal mint and restore order in the city. Past 24 hours of 2.5M+ earthquakes in North America shows the edge of the craton being displaced from the NW to the South + Southeast. Beginning with a 4.0M earthquake, followed by movement to the South at dormant volcanoes, and then further southeast at fracking operations in Oklahoma, then causing craton movement along the New Madrid Seismic Zone.

After Iceland suffered a heavy hit in the 2008-2009 financial crisis, which famously resulted in convictions and jail terms for a number of top banking executives, the IMF now says the country has managed to achieve economic recovery—“without compromising its welfare model,” which includes universal healthcare and education.
In fact, Iceland is on track to become the first European country that suffered in the financial meltdown to “surpass its pre-crisis peak of economic output”—essentially proving to the U.S. that bailing out “too big to fail” banks wasn’t the way to go. Iceland is beautifully, yet unfortunately, unique in how it chose to handle the disaster. It simply let the banks fail, which resulted in defaults totaling $85 billion—lending ample justification for the prosecution and conviction of bank executives for various fraud-related charges. The decision seemed shocking at the time, but the gamble has obviously paid off. Choosing a different route, the U.S. bailed out the banks and let executives off the hook by levying fines that ultimately ended up being paid by the corporations—meaning the executives ostensibly responsible for the mess got off scot-free.
“Why should we have a part of our society that is not being policed or without responsibility?” special prosecutor Olafur Hauksson said after Iceland’s Supreme Court upheld the convictions for three bankers—and sentenced them to between four and five and a half years each. “It is dangerous that someone is too big to investigate—it gives a sense there is a safe haven.”Hauksson, a police officer from a small fishing village, ended up taking the role of special prosecutor after being urged to do so when the first announcement to fill the position drew no applicants. The Icelandic Parliament even aided the prosecution’s effort by loosening secrecy laws to allow investigation without the hindrance of requiring court orders.
Six of the seven convictions that ended up in Iceland’s Supreme Court have been upheld, and five cases were scheduled for the top court as of February. An additional fourteen cases appear likely to be prosecuted. By contrast, the animosity Americans felt toward their largest financial institutions after the bailout has grown bitter. After the banks pled guilty in May for manipulating global currency and interest rates, the court imposed a paltry fine of $5.7 billion—which won’t even go to the people most affected by the fraud. Iceland’s successful prosecutions and economic recovery remain the subject of envy for Americans.
Shortly, however, Iceland’s economic health will be put to the test.
Strict capital controls that were applied when banks were circling the drain six years ago will now be loosened, allowing foreign investors—whose assets have essentially been frozen since then—to take their business elsewhere. To prevent a possible repeat crisis, the finance minister announced a 39% tax for anyone choosing to do so. “The danger is capital flight and a consequent fall in the value of the krona,” explained University of Iceland economics professor, Thorolfur Matthiasson. “That would be tantamount to October 2008, bringing back bad memories for ordinary people and possibly making most businesses unsustainable due to balance-sheet problems.”
Though many are nervous, there is still cautionary optimism since Iceland has certainly weathered the storm before.
The Pentagon just approved a major plan to reform the military
retirement system by reducing current pension size by 20 percent. That
plan is now in the hands of Congress.
Defense officials sent along a six-page whitepaper with the bill in an effort to help explain the policies, Military Times reports.
A blended system maintains the current, though downsized pension
system, and adds individual retirement accounts for personnel, called
Thrift Savings Plans (TSP). Government contributions equivalent to 1
percent of basic pay accrue to the account and cannot be withdrawn
before the veteran is 59 and a half.
Contributions from personnel are automatically set at 3 percent.
Opting out is possible, but personnel will first have to receive
training in financial literacy. After four years of service, the
government will match individual contributions to the account up to the
equivalent of 5 percent of basic pay. If individuals kick in 5 percent
of their pay to the account, the government will also add 6 percent of
basic pay.
Back in March, President Barack Obama hinted at support for the
reform recommendation stemming from the Military Compensation and
Retirement Modernization Commission’s two-year study which came out

For the longest time, the Pentagon avoided taking a concrete
position, but approval from top DOD officials means one more obstacle
out of the way in moving the proposals through to law.
With the new change in place, some amount of retirement benefits
would be available for the vast majority of personnel who exit before
they reach 20 years of service—the time it takes to be approved for the
normal pension system.
Individual retirement accounts is a concept supported both by a
Republican-dominated Congress and many veterans’ advocates, though with
some qualifications.
“While IAVA is still reviewing the details of the recommendations, we
support an update to this system to allow for more options for service
members, particularly those who serve fewer than 20 years,” Mark
Szymanski, chief communications officer at Iraq and Afghanistan Veterans
of America (IAVA), told The Daily Caller News Foundation.
“Our position is driven by IAVA’s members, who have voiced support
for reforming the military retirement system to include non-careerists.
In our 2014 Member Survey, of those supporting reform, 67 percent
favored a 401k-style benefit for non-careerists, 33 percent favored
increasing the overall value of the current retirement benefits, and 59
percent favored a partial early retirement benefit for 10 or 15 years of
service. For our members, it is clear that they want to see a system
where all service is eligible.”
Other groups were more specific, highlighting the incentive structure
as an element of the new system that could go awry if not carefully
observed.
“One of The American Legion’s concerns was that the new plan would
reduce the incentive for enlistments or re-enlistments, so if the new
plan is approved and implemented, and they find that they’re losing
ground as far as encouraging people to join the military goes, then
they’ll have to go back and relook at the system,” Joe Grassi, director
of the national security division for The American Legion, told TheDCNF.
Grassi noted that the plan includes a grandfather clause, meaning
that currently serving military personnel will have two years to decide
whether they’d like to opt in to the new system or continue with the old
system.
The Military Officers Association of America (MOAA) is decidedly more skeptical. President and CEO of MOAA Norb Ryan told Government Executive
that “the current system provides great predictability and the TSP’s
rate of return is at the whim of market fluctuation. We still have
concerns that the 20-percent reduction in a service member’s retired pay
will fail to draw members to 20 years of service and beyond.”
The total value of the benefits under the new system, defense
officials maintain, is equivalent to the old system, though there is
room for variance because of the element of individual choice in
contributions.
With the new system in place, estimates place the amount saved for taxpayers at $1 billion dollars annually.
Breaking through the lockdown around the hotel, Luke
Rudkowski and Dan Dicks were able to film footage
both inside and
outside the hotel throughout the 2 days that they were there.
Rudkowski and Dicks were apparently able to infiltrate the hotel
due to the fact that they had press credentials from the G7 and that
members of the White House Press Corps were staying at the hotel before
Bilderberg to cover the nearby G7 meetings.
During their stay in the hotel they were able to speak with some
of the White House reporters who apparently admitted, off the record,
that they worked in journalism for the money rather than actually
exposing the truth.

Main stream media is currently running a story regarding the uptick in earthquake activity which has struck the state of Alabama.
In all the news stories, we see the “professionals” play acting like
they’re confused, making claims that they “don’t know” what is causing
these rare Alabama M3.0+ earthquakes.
Nevermind the giant former oil / gas pumping operation that is directly at the location ! (USGS epicenter coordinates 32.937°N , 88.004°W)
Ironically, I’ve caught the USGS literally DELETING earthquakes from
this location before – an attempt to protect the oil/gas producers, and

Upon inspection of the area moving in Alabama (seen from high
resolution satellite images), we can clearly see the former oil / gas
pads still cut out in the rural woods outside of Tuscaloosa, AL.
The NEW operations have been moved a few miles Northeast –
surrounding the city of Tuscaloosa directly. The newer operations are
even more densely packed, and are also clearly visible from high above. 33°12’55.01″N , 87°23’39.95″W
The news article below briefly mentions the larger oil operations in
the adjacent counties, but then completely fails to mention the former
operation which is actually at the earthquake epicenter location.
Obviously this is a case of OLD WELLS FRACTURING due to major Craton
pressure. The fractured wells are releasing liquid under pressure into
the surrounding bedrock, which then places unwanted hydraulic pressure
on the fault zones below, ultimately causing earthquakes. Above:

earthquake seen in the midwest is at a fracking operation. Not one
single event over the past 7 days (on the South portion of the craton)
is actually a “natural” event. All these earthquakes occurred directly

Swarm of earthquakes rattles rural Alabama; reason unclear
“EUTAW, Ala. (AP) —
Jim Sterling didn’t know what had hit his 156-year-old antebellum home
when an earthquake struck Alabama’s old plantation region early one
morning last November. Startled, he grabbed a gun and ran outdoors.
In the pre-dawn chill, Sterling said, he found an odd scene: horses were galloping, cows mooing and dogs barking.
“I heard a boom and felt the shaking,” Sterling said. “It really upset me.” More than a dozen weak earthquakes have followed in the
seven months since in west Alabama’s rural Greene County, and geologists
are trying to figure out what is causing the seismic swarm in an area
of the South more prone to tornadoes than earthquakes. “It is interesting that recently there has been more
activity there than in the last four decades,” said Sandy Ebersole, an
earthquake expert with the Geological Survey of Alabama. Records from the U.S. Geological Survey show the first of
14 earthquakes occurred on Nov. 20, when a magnitude 3.8 earthquake was
recorded about 10 miles northwest of the community of Eutaw. The second
occurred in mid-December, followed by another in January and three
within a few hours of each other on Feb. 19.
The tremors have
continued ever since, with the most recent occurring June 6, when a
magnitude 3.0 quake rattled the area. All the tremors have been weaker
than the initial jolt in November, and Ebersole said some have been too
slight for residents to detect.
Located about 35
miles from Tuscaloosa, the whole of Greene County has only about 8,700
residents, and the area where the quakes are occurring is sparsely
populated. Farmlands and forests are dotted by hunting preserves and old
homes left over from Alabama’s past as a cotton-producing,
slave-holding state.
Experts have installed a seismic monitor in a field to
enable them to get better information about the quakes, none of which
has caused major damage. Ebersole said researchers are trying to rule
out potential causes such as blasting for quarries and sonic booms.
They’ve even held meetings with rattled area residents. The quakes could be linked to underground cracks, or
faults, found in the area in recent years at varying depths, Ebersole
said. But just what has been causing the ground to shake is unclear.
One potential source
that regulators are discounting is hydraulic fracturing or “fracking,” a
process for extracting underground oil or natural gas that has been
blamed for earthquake swarms elsewhere, including Oklahoma. Wastewater
is sometimes injected underground, a method the government has blamed
for quakes.
While Greene County
is on the edge of Alabama’s primary region for oil and gas production,
state geologist Nick Tew said no such production or disposal work is
going on in the area where the quakes are occurring.
The mysterious shaking has left residents like Mark McClelland to protect themselves in the only way they can.
“After the second or third one I went to get some earthquake insurance,” said McClelland. “It’s not bad, about $150 a year.”
The hearty
construction methods and thick timbers used in his 163-old Greek Revival
mansion provide some comfort to Barden Smedberg, who operates the house
as a wedding venue and a bed and breakfast. One of the earliest quakes
shook loose curtain rods from window frames at his Everhope Plantation,
he said. But no other damage has occurred.
“This house has been here since 1852. I don’t think it’s going anywhere,” said Smedberg.
Even without much damage or a major shake to date, Sterling said he would still like to know what is causing the quakes.
“A lot of people are wondering what’s going on,” he said.”
