Paul Ryan NOT Going to Defund Abortionists

PAUL RYAN NOT GOING TO DEFUND ABORTIONISTS  --
NO SURPRISE THERE!

 01 Nov 2015

If you were among those voters excited about Paul Ryan’s ascension to the House throne, he’s out there now trying to convince you to lower your expectations. Especially if you’re the kind of conservative who doesn’t want his tax dollars going to fund an abortion mill. “I think we need to be very clear about what we can and cannot achieve and not set expectations that we know we can’t reach given the constraints of the Constitution,” Ryan said in an interview on CNN’s Sunday show, “State of the Union.”

Right, because there’s no way around that damn constitutional right to abortion, eh? This is unacceptable coming from any Republican, much less the man leading Congress.

You don’t hear the Democrats saying things like this, do you?
Where are all the media types who call Obama divisive and obstructionist?
Where are the people talking about the liberal wing of the Democratic Party and how they’re all out to lunch?

You don’t hear it, because this is a narrative that has been wholly invented by the liberal media. And it’s been picked up by half the damn politicians with an R next to their name. They never get outside the Washington bubble long enough to understand that they’ve been warped by the atmosphere.

“I don’t think Planned Parenthood should get a red cent from the taxpayer. I’ve always believed that, even before these disgusting videos came out,” Ryan said. “But I believe we need to do our oversight. We’re just beginning to start a committee to investigate Planned Parenthood. That’s important. So the special committee on Planned Parenthood, I think, should be in the driver’s seat overseeing this process.”

Yeah, those special committees have been damn effective when it comes to getting conservative issues pushed into legislation, haven’t they? Might as well start talking about Planned Parenthood’s poll numbers, since that appears to be the only way these committees actually make a difference.

It’s disturbing that our new House speaker doesn’t consider abortion to be as important as it is. This is a defining issue of our times, and Paul Ryan should be willing to stake his career on it. There is no excuse for this kind of, well, you know, we’d really like to…but what can we do? What can you do? You can do everything in your power to make sure this terrible company never gets another dime, that’s what you can do. Why are we conceding this battle before it ever gets rolling?

“I think being an effective opposition party means being honest with people upfront about what it is we can and cannot achieve,” he said.

So Ryan believes that effectiveness means admitting defeat? But see, this is what happens when the media is telling you around the clock that Americans want an end to gridlock and partisan politics.

Where is the evidence of that?
Why are we falling for this fairy tale that says it’s so awful for the two parties to disagree?
Why are we more willing to fund the deaths of a million unborn babies a year than we are to shut down the federal government for a couple of weeks?
What kind of twisted morality brings us to this point?

This is a dangerous time for our country, and we need leaders in Washington who understand the precipice that America is clinging to. We can’t win our country back if we’re playing by the Democrat narrative. It should have been a glaring red warning sign to see that Democrats in the Senate were as excited about Ryan as the Republicans.
