Hi Everyone,
Wanted to get on and deliver quickly what I am now hearing from my multiple sources that are in Iraq. This is an amazing story and someone could write or should write a book about this someday.
This could have been a simple process but instead due to political strife it was all mucked up, which seems to be the order of the day in Iraq. Just remember the lack of total support and commitment in Iraq from the USA policies in the next 2016 presidential elections. This has been a mess since day one, one bad decision after another.
If you can remember in my last post I stated the IMF contact said that the Iraq currency must go live internationally and that USA would see an active rate at the banks before the end of this week, I still believe this to be true and I have confirmed this today once again. Anyhow this is still their plan. Will it happen? I certainly wish it is true. I am so ready as I suspect you all are too.
Next let me address something that is very sensative. In my last post I mentioned that there was a lot of concern for civil disobedience in Iraq. This situation can not be taken lightly and it is getting worst by the day. Some provinces are worst off than others. It is felt the if they can keep it isolated the activation of the SMART cards will help the situation and quite it down. Also go back to some of my post from 6 months ago and longer. What did I say about Maliki? Many sites bashed me for this attitude and were so determined to state that this was out of Iraq hands. Noone could however seem to come up with the culprit as to who or what then holding it up. I was not making it up. I was only transferring the information from Iraq itself at the time. I said that Maliki would be an issue at the end and would not allow the RV as long as he was in any power. We have seen the decline of his power base but still parliament and the political leaders do not have the guts to enforce their own constitution. This I believe is their inability and lack of fortitude that will ultimateley be the decline of Iraq as a great nation. It will cause constant future political strife. But it is their choice. Each choice we make one day at a time has great impact on our lives. We may not see it then but it does. Great nations are born not just because they have great wealth but because they have great political leaders who are capable of managing the wealth and affairs of the nation. These leaders have the abilityto bring the citizens together in national unity- one cause under one flag. Maybe someday they will understand that their sectarian differences and mere petty issues can be set aside for the good of a nation not themselves. I have yet to see such a leader in Iraq. It is time for them to begin to look at themselves as a nation and not a bunch of waring tribes. We will be long gone and out of our investment very soon. I say good luck to them!
So how did the activation of the cards happen?
I asked this question to my IMF contact today. If Maliki was holding it up how did they finally get him to agree? What he told me was that they had a meeting with Iraq officials. It was decided in the meeting on Weds of this week to go ahead with the activation buy enforcing the separation of powers between the CBI and the government. Finally some guts! It was reminded that when Dr. Shabibi was heading the CBI he made an agreement with parliament not the the government. The agreement stated that he would accept the decision to implement the revaluation of their currency given a written notice of approval from parliament. He did this out of courtesy and respect, from one gentleman to the next. This letter was given to the CBI last year 2012. We all saw it in the articles from the news media that followed. This agreement is still enforceable, as other agreements are and should be enforced. Maliki confronted the situation and this is how it was presented to him. He backed down since there are many agreements he himself has not met in his obligations as the prime minister. He would only incriminate himself and open many more cans of worms if he pressed the issue. The next step taken was to put yet more pressure on the government. This was done by an article published from the speech from the acting governor of the CBI who stated that- the CBI is now ready and that it is the government now who is holding it up. This was a well thought out, intentional speech to push this over the edge. On 8/1, late in the day they began the activation of the SMART cards.
Status on the RV
The IMF is waiting for the final go ahead from the CBi on the completion and success of the activations. We will not see the global reset until this is done since the Irsq dinar is the king pin for the global reallignment of currency values. As I write this post I am also hearing it is done and I will try to confirm this today. We are still on track to see the new rates at the bank this weekend. I was told they are going to push out the new rates very soon.
Still our biggest fear
We should still all be very concerned about this mad man Maliki. We do not know what to expect from him. Usually, as in the past, once he is corned and has to cave in on an issue there are reprocussions later on as he devises yet another wayto cause yet more caos to show who is still in control. I wait for this. I only hope they also know this too in Iraq and brace for it. I think they are going to push this RV through to avoid this.
I wanted to let everyone know I support the information that Tony is now providing. I believe he is spot on since I too am hearing the same kind of news. I too think we are at the doorstep just waiting for someone to answer the door.

Neil Keenan Reveals His Illuminati Ties
To begin, let's look at what he said starting at the 3:42 mark of his second video...
When referring to the Western banking cabal, he states, "They don't control the military and they don't control the agencies and so on... We do have some protections. We have a militia, we have a military, a Pentagon [as he touches his nose, signaling possible deception]. We have the agencies. And I don't think any of them are going to let these people [the Western banksters] continue to run the game."
REALITY CHECK
The central bankers took control of America's money back in 1913, and by 1933, they bankrupted us. Who do you think built the modern American military industrial complex (which was born after the bankruptcy in World War 2)? The banksters, that's who. And sure, there are decent and loyal people in the enlisted, NCO, and junior officer ranks of the military (I was one of them), but who do you think the U.S. Government and their bankster masters promoted to the upper officer ranks? People who would do their bidding, that's who. That's why the upper officer ranks spray their own troops with Agent Orange and poison them with depleted uranium, as well as do nuclear, biological and chemical warfare experiments on recruits and the general population. Hint: Officers loyal to the people would not do such things; those loyal to the Illuminati would.
Do you still have doubts that the Illuminati families control our military? Then just look at the Pentagon...
...Who do you think built it?
As for the agencies, the CIA and NSA were not put in place by Thomas Jefferson. When were they formed? Who do you think built them? And for whom do you think they work? You might want to ask former CIA Director George H.W. Bush...
As for the militia, they don't dare come out into the open to do anything. They would be slaughtered. Federal forces have vastly superior surveillance, communication, mobility and firepower capabilities. The best the militia can do is hold their ground and fight a war of attrition if the Feds attack.
So what Keenan said in the aforementioned passage is an utterly ridiculous untruth. Does he know that or is he naive enough to believe what he said? Personally, I lean towards the former.
Let's go on to what he said beginning at the 4:40 mark of the second video...
In referring to the world's gold, he stated...
"...Gold doesn't belong to you; it doesn't belong to me. OK [as he again touches his face, indicating possible deception]... It belongs to those who deposit it. It's theirs. You can't put your hand in it and say it's ours. It's not yours. It's theirs. But they're willing to share. They're willing to let us use it to make a better world."
REALITY CHECK
If the gold (or any of the Earth's other natural resources) doesn't belong to all of Mother Earth's children, to whom does Neil believe it belongs? To the "Qing Dynasty"? To the "Dragon Family"? If so, how does he think they took possession of it? Did the royal family members physically dig it out of the ground with their own hands? Did they provide goods and services with their own labor to trade for the gold? No, the people did. And the "royals" stole the gold from the people by force of arms and guile. Royal families (and governments) are nothing more than criminal gangs that have surrounded themselves with the trappings of respectability.
So now they're "willing to share" what they stole from generations of their own people? How kind of them! What they'll actually be doing, though, is merely setting out a mat called currency upon which people will build real wealth. And when wealth harvesting time comes at the end of the next cycle, they'll pull back the mat (by pulling back on the currency supply), taking the real wealth with it (in a process we know as "repossession"). This new system is just more of the same ol' sh*t they've been doing forever.
We, the people, can provide our own mats to build our wealth upon. The only reason we don't right now is because "government" has outlawed our ability to create our own currencies. They have given the exclusive right to build mats to the banksters. But if we ignore their laws, we can create mats that the banksters cannot pull from beneath us.
Let's continue on to what Neil said beginning at the 5:40 mark of his first video...
In this section, he starts talking about the ETs, calling them "angels." He also talks about "the Family" and how they have been around "forever." Do you know what the Illuminati call themselves? According to supposed Illuminati escapees like Svali and Carolyn Hamlett, they call themselves "the Family" (and also "the Order"). Look here and here for their testimonies on this point, the second of which also speaks to Illuminati control of the military as well as to the true nature of the "ascended masters" and "spiritual hierarchy."
Of course, Keenan would say that he's not referring to "the Family" in terms of the Illuminati, but in terms of the "Dragon Family." But where did the Dragon Family originate? As it turns out, they came from ancient Sumer, which is the same place the Illuminati families came from. So the Dragons and the Western Illuminati are not opponents; they are kin. And while there can be sibling rivalries amidst families, they tend to close ranks and cooperate when it comes to common interests (like controlling the world).

...and you will find many pages about them. You'll even find a clue as to why they are interested in hoarding gold. Do you think Keenan ever bothered to do a simple internet search to find out who he's working for? What are the odds he doesn't know?
As for the "angel" ETs, the patron entities of the Illuminati can take on whatever form suits their purposes at any given time, including beautiful forms that appear angelic and fearsome forms that can scare a quick energy snack out of a human. Taking various ET forms also poses no problem for them. What they actually are is a good question: ETs? EDs? "Demons"? "Djinn"? Whatever they are, they clearly don't have our best interests in mind, and neither do their Illuminati minions.
Finally, let's look at what Neil said beginning at the 3:34 mark of his first video...
"But, apparently, the World Bank, the BIS and the IMF were all set up so that the West could steal. But 100 years now the West have been stealing from the... from the Family. The Family is finally catching up to 'em."
In this passage, he paints the Dragon Family as a bunch of innocent rubes who were taken advantage of by Western hucksters, and it took them 100 years to catch on to the con. GMAFB. Do you really think the Chinese, who are brilliant people and who dealt with the British banksters and their opium trade way back in the 18th Century, were taken by surprise by the avarice of the West? At the highest levels (among the Illuminati families), there was always collusion.
Just look to the deindustrialization of the West, particularly America, and the breakneck industrialization of China. Do you think this happened by accident or by the stupidity of the Western "elites"? No, it was their policy. It was quite deliberate, as is the chemtrailing over both Western and Eastern nations using American-built planes and Chinese-manufactured chemical compounds.
As to the whole narrative, offered by various members of the Clown Posse, that the West owes vast sums to the East, that "88% of the United States is owned by the Chinese," and that we must therefore cede our wealth and property to the Family (so they can, in turn, "share it" with us), it is a thoroughly contrived scam. The whole idea of national debts is built upon criminal schemes and abstractions that have no basis in reality, but we are taught to accept it so we'll accept the fate the banksters wish to deal us.
And this brings us to another problem with Keenan's information, and it relates to something I covered in the second of my "David Wilcock and the Real NWO" entries...
"The Chinese have suffered greatly at the hands of Western imperialism, as has much of the world. As a result, the Illuminati would have trouble roping many nations into a Western-led New World Order, especially the nationalistic Chinese. Since you can't have a truly global order without the most populous nation on Earth, the Illuminati opted to use their own legacy of destruction to their advantage. Their two-part strategy to do so is as follows:
1 - They set up a China-centered alliance as an opposing force to the Western alliance.
This part of the strategy was hinted at in the mainstream press in this 2002 UPI article, titled "China Wants Its Own 'New World Order' To Oppose US Version." It is common practice for the Cabal to use opposing forces to achieve their ends, and they always make sure they have influence or control over both sides.
2 - They have been driving the world public into the hands of the Chinese alliance.
How have they approached this, you ask?
> They have widely publicized a heinous New World Order planned by the Western Powers while simultaneously publicizing a benign New World Order planned by China and its allies (thus establishing danger from one side and safety from another).
> They have instigated outrageous and provocative action, both economic and military, by the Western powers (this adds a new insight into the open-for-all-to-see Wall Street / City of London criminality and recent Western military boondoggles in Afghanistan, Iraq, Egypt, Libya, and Syria).
> They have broadly exposed damaging information about Western nations, especially the US. This is the motivation behind WikiLeaks, Snowden, and a thousand smaller disclosures. And after Snowden outed the NSA's activities to the general public, where did he run to hide? First to China (Hong Kong), then to Russia. So what is the psychological message? China and Russia (the BRICS alliance) is where you run for safety from the evil US, its Western allies, and all their horrible behavior."
You can see Keenan and other propaganda mouthpieces following this script of bashing the West and beatifying the East. Consider this Canauzzie entry. It can be summed up as follows:
The West = evil thieves out to steal and destroy
The East = innocent angels out to save humanity
...and ending with...
"Where are the vast Chinese funds loaned and not redeemed? Does America Redeem – or Renege? [on the imaginary debt the banksters have created with their paper schemes]"
The various members of the Clown Posse crew (Keenan, Fulford, Poof/Zap, Wilcock, etc.) are either willingly or unwittingly taking part in this propaganda effort to sell you on the ideas that will lead you to accept the real New World Order. But what are they selling you, really? An overhauled hierarchical system of government, more centrally-controlled currency, and a new religion based on the teachings of the "ascended masters" of the Illuminati. It is nothing but fascism with a smiley face and angel wings.
Getting back to Neil Keenan, though, allow me to summarize...
> He openly admits to working for the "Family" / "Dragons" and I have shown you that these names refer to the Illuminati / Sumerian bloodlines.
> He is openly telling you that the Earth's gold, which was mined by the Earth's people, does not belong to us; it belongs to the Dragons / Illuminati.
> He is openly participating in the "West is bad / East is good" propaganda effort the Illuminati are using to set up their Chinese-fronted New World Order.
> He is clearly speaking an untruth in saying that the Pentagon / Pentagram and the Illuminati bankster intelligence agencies are on our side.
> He is now openly talking of "ET" intervention to "help us," but are these interventionist ETs really "good guys" or just the Illuminati's bosses coming down to establish direct rule over the New World Order that has been prepared for them?
"Here come the 'angels' in the capstone, floating down to help us!"...
Noting all these things begs the following questions: Is Keenan knowingly and willingly participating in this fraud? Or is he merely believing the lies his insiders are telling him and passing them along thinking they're truth? I cannot speak to his personal character or motivations; I can only note that the information is faulty.
So if you are among those who have not yet seen the Keenan information for what it really is, how much more is it going to take? I realize how difficult it is to admit to being scammed and to give up on something you really, really want to be true. But if you cannot admit to yourself when you're wrong, you cannot grow. And we need every conscious being we can muster if we are going to bypass the trap the Illuminati have prepared for us.

Students, alum and supporters are planning a march in support
of
Bencomo at St. Lucy's on Aug. 8.
Over
1,500 people have RSVP'd for the
march on Facebook.
A Southern California man who
taught at a Catholic high school for 17 years
was fired days after he married his partner.
Students say Ken Bencomo, 45, was one of the most beloved
teachers at
St. Lucy's Priory High School, an all-girl
school in Glendora, Calif.
Bencomo and his partner Christopher Persky, 32, were one of the
first couples
to line up on July 1 at the San Bernardino
County Assessor-Recorder's Office to
get married after the U.S. Supreme Court ruled a ban on same-sex marriage as unconstitutional.
That same day, the Inland Valley Daily Bulletin ran a front-page photo and online
video of the newlyweds celebrating their marriage.
Last week, St. Lucy's students started talking on social media
about the absence
of Bencomo from their fall schedules. When
they suspected the teacher had
been fired, former
student Brittany Littleton, 23, started a petition on Change.org to get Bencomo re-hired. As of 11 a.m. PST on
Thursday, the
petition
had over 8,500 signatures.
The petition describes Bencomo and his involvement in the school:
He is a beloved mentor, confidant, and educator. His passion for
teaching,
as well as his witty personality, have made him a favorite teacher among
many students. He is extremely active at St. Lucy's; he teaches multiple
subjects along with taking on various leadership positions including Yearbook moderator, dance coach, and head of the English Department.

On July 12, Bencomo was notified in person by Assistant Principal

told HuffPost.
"The happiest day of his life has turned into a
nightmare," McGarrigle said.
"He's sick about it because he has such an
affinity for the school. His lifelong
efforts have been disrupted. The humiliation
hurts him very much."
Bencomo would like to resolve the matter with the school without
any litigation,
McGarrigle said. Before
his marriage, Bencomo had signed an employment renewal contract with St. Lucy's
in May.
Jessica Navarro, a 2011 alum of St. Lucy's, expressed
her gratitude to "Mr.B" on
"Mr. B was the one who gave me the opportunity to dance and
choreograph
in the style that I love most," Navarro
wrote. "He put faith into me and gave
me the responsibility of choreographing pieces
for the hip hop team and for
my dance class and just by having someone so
friendly and welcoming as him
gave me more faith in myself as a dancer."
"I hope the school delivers an apology to Bencomo and [its]
students," she
continued. Instead of going back to St. Lucy's,
"Bencomo deserves to go to
an institution that didn't treat him poorly
based on his love life."
Students say that it was well-known on campus
for years that Bencomo was
in a
committed relationship. Several staff members had met his partner, who
he
has been with for 10 years, Bencomo's lawyer said.
"It was known by 99 percent of the school that he was gay but
it was never
an issue in the past," Littleton said to
HuffPost. "I think it's very hypocritical
to be OK with someone and their relationship
until they are open about it."
"In fact, in a social justice religion class, we were taught
to be inclusive and
fight for peoples' rights," she recalled to
HuffPost.
Students, alum and supporters are planning a
march in support of
Bencomo at St. Lucy's on Aug. 8. Over 1,500

The Archdiocese of Los Angeles parish staff handbook states
that an employee
may
be disciplined, including suspended or terminated, for "behavior counter
to
the
moral teachings and standards of the church."
The Catholic Diocese of San Bernardino could not be reached for
comment.
"Do they fire teachers who get divorced? Or who treat their
gay children with
dignity and respect instead of shaming
them?" Evan Wolfson, founder and
president of Freedom to Marry, the campaign to
win marriage nationwide, told
HuffPost in commenting on the case.
"How sad to see an employer practicing
discrimination so at odds with the
teachings
of the Golden Rule and the spirit of what the Pope himself went out
of
his way to say just a few days ago," Wolfson said.
Pope Francis made headlines last week by saying,
"Who am I to judge a gay
person of goodwill who seeks the Lord? You can't
marginalize these people."
According to a recent Gallup poll, 60 percent of Catholics are in favor
of "making
same-sex marriages legal in all 50 states."
However, the law does not protect LGBT employees of religious
institutions.
"Unfortunately for the students at the countless religious
schools in our country,
the legal thumb usually is on the discrimination
side of the scales," Jennifer Pizer,
senior counsel and director of the Lambda Legal
Law and Policy Project, told
HuffPost.
The U.S. Supreme Court recently ruled that religious schools, protected by the
First
Amendment, have the right to hire and fire teachers based on whether or
not
their actions are in line with religious doctrine.
Federal legislation prohibits employment discrimination based on
race, religion,
sex, nation of origin, age and any disability --
it does not ban discrimination based
on gender identify or sexual orientation. Thus,
in 33 states that currently don't
have state bans, people can be fired, denied a
promotion or harassed, merely for
being LGBT.

Americans mistakenly think that LGBT individuals are
already protected from
workplace discrimination under federal law.
Nineteen years after its introduction into the political arena,
the Employment Non-Discrimination Act (ENDA) passed a Senate committee last month. ENDA
would ban workplace discrimination based on
gender identity and sexual
orientation, but religious organizations are
exempted.
LGBT activists think that religious exemption is too broad and
should be
narrowed to have the same parameters as Title
VII, which prohibits
discrimination based on race, sex, national
origin and religion.
While litigation is a last resort, McGarrigle said that he
believes his client
has a case because "the law is changing
here. No one expected the Supreme
Court to overturn DOMA."
While sexual orientation in the workplace is not
federally protected, California's
Fair Employment and Housing Act prohibits
discrimination in employment
because
of sexual orientation. FEHA does have an exemption for religious
institutions, but McGarrigle thinks it does not
apply because of the administration's knowledge of Bencomo's sexual orientation
and partner for years, and his long-term employment and continued promotion at
the school.
"This is a very unique circumstance," McGarrigle said.
"Not like one that has ever
been litigated before."

But I wrote to mention that Hillary worked at Rose Law Firm with Vince Foster, and there were rumours of an affair. He later became White House Counsel or some high office and they mysteriously officially committed suicide, as did many others associated with the Clinton Gang.
But maybe for "celebrities"--which includes all dirt from "news" to politicians and beyond--one affair isn't that bad. After all, those people are all about themselves, and perhaps less resistant to temptations, I don't know.

You know Hillary and Bill Clinton wish that Anthony Weiner and his wife would just disappear. Vanish into thin air, never to be heard from again. They’ve got to be sick and tired of hearing people say that Weiner’s wife, Huma Abedin, is “just like Hillary.”
You would have thought that after a sexting scandal that forced him to resign from Congress two years ago, Weiner would have learned his lesson. But, no, the contender to be the next mayor of New York has sent sexually explicit text messages to several other young women over the past couple of years. And still, his long-suffering wife says she has forgiven his wayward ways and will stick by him.
It’s just like Hillary Clinton did for husband Bill 15 years ago, when news got out of his sexual hanky-panky with White House intern Monica Lewinsky. Remember how Hillary Clinton tried to blame reports of her husband’s indiscretions on a “vast right-wing conspiracy?” That didn’t work very well, did it?
Apparently, the comparison of the two scandals is driving the Clintons bonkers. The New York Post reports that a top Democrat told the paper: “The Clintons are pissed off that Weiner’s campaign is saying that Huma is just like Hillary. How dare they compare Huma with Hillary? Hillary was the first lady. Hillary was a senator. She was secretary of state.”
And for much of that time, Abedin was there beside her, both as a friend and as an employee. Columnist Christine M. Flowers pointed out: “Huma Abedin has been by her mentor’s side for almost two decades, and it is reasonable to think that she spent a large part of that time taking notes about how to thrive and prosper in the political jungle…. Anthony’s wife has taken a page from her pseudo-mama’s dog-eared book and has perfected the art of damage control.”
Flowers wrote: “[W]e are now in the presence of Hillary Clinton, version 2.1.”
Maureen Dowd, the preachy liberal columnist for The New York Times, reminded her readers that Bill Clinton officiated at Abedin’s and Weiner’s wedding in 2010. And she managed to find one positive result from the latest Weiner escapades: “Aside from being a gift to clowns, hacks, punsters, rivals and the writers of ‘The Good Wife,’ Carlos Danger [one of Weiner’s texting non de plumes] is also a gift to political-scandal survivors. His behavior is so outlandish and contemptible — the sort of thing that used to require a trench coat and a park — that it allows Eliot Spitzer and Bill Clinton to act huffy.”
“Huffy” isn’t quite the right word to describe how Bill and Hillary Clinton feel about the constant comparisons — and reminders. A much better description would be “furious.” And no wonder. Of course they’d be angry about anything that reminds voters of the Lewinsky scandal. After all, it was Bill Clinton’s less-than-honest testimony back then (remember his claim that “it depends on what the meaning of ‘is’ is”?) that led to his impeachment by the House of Representatives.
Yes, if the media keep reminding people of what happened back then, it just might cut into the millions of dollars in speaking fees that Bill Clinton is earning today. Even worse, it could affect Hillary Clinton’s chances to be elected President herself in 2016. So no wonder they both wish that the comparisons would stop. And that Weiner would cancel his campaign for mayor and just quietly fade away.
The New York Times says it has seen and heard enough. An editorial on the subject concluded, “The serially evasive Mr. Weiner should take his marital troubles and personal compulsions out of the public eye, away from cameras, off the Web and out of the race for mayor of New York City.”
But it doesn’t look like that’s going to happen anytime soon. In fact, Weiner himself has repeatedly vowed that he won’t drop out of the race, no matter how many editors and politicians urge him to do so. “Quit isn’t the way we roll in New York City,” he declared.
He also said he didn’t much care what Hillary or Bill Clinton thought. “I am not terribly interested in what people who are not voters in the city of New York have to say,” Weiner told reporters.
Apparently, he doesn’t much care what likely Democratic voters in New York City think either. According to the latest Quinnipiac poll, a majority of them also say that Weiner should withdraw from the race.
Nor is Weiner’s sexting scandal all the negative publicity his campaign is receiving. Now it’s his communications director, Barbara Morgan, who’s making headlines. Seems she went on an expletive-filled rant against a campaign intern. And she did it while a reporter was recording every word.
I can’t repeat most of what Morgan said, because it was too X-rated for this publication. One of the few allowable epithets she used was “slutbag.” Will Morgan’s dirty language take the spotlight off her boss’s dirty text messages? Not for long.
In the meantime, there’s another election in New York City that will also test voter forgiveness. Former Governor Spitzer is running for city comptroller. Spitzer resigned as Governor in 2008, after only a year in office, when revelations emerged that he was Client No. 9 of a high-priced prostitution service.
And through it all, Spitzer’s wife, Sida, also stood by her man. That scandal was said to be the inspiration for the popular TV show “The Good Wife.”
So far, the media response to all of this has been to treat Weiner like a laughing-stock, his wife Abedin as an unfortunate victim and Hillary Clinton like an innocent bystander.
Hillary Clinton gets to enjoy lunch with the President outside the Oval Office, far above all the mud that’s being flung below her. She’ll pretend she doesn’t hear any of the comparisons with her former friend until New York’s mayoral election is over and Weiner’s sexting problem is finally forgotten.
At least, that’s what she hopes. Based on what’s happened since her husband’s sex scandal 15 years ago, Hillary Clinton has every reason to be optimistic.
Isn’t it wonderful what can happen (and what won’t happen) when you have the mass media running interference for you?

It’s just like Hillary Clinton did for husband Bill 15 years ago, when news got out of his sexual hanky-panky with White House intern Monica Lewinsky. Remember how Hillary Clinton tried to blame reports of her husband’s indiscretions on a “vast right-wing conspiracy?” That didn’t work very well, did it?
Apparently, the comparison of the two scandals is driving the Clintons bonkers. The New York Post reports that a top Democrat told the paper: “The Clintons are pissed off that Weiner’s campaign is saying that Huma is just like Hillary. How dare they compare Huma with Hillary? Hillary was the first lady. Hillary was a senator. She was secretary of state.”
And for much of that time, Abedin was there beside her, both as a friend and as an employee. Columnist Christine M. Flowers pointed out: “Huma Abedin has been by her mentor’s side for almost two decades, and it is reasonable to think that she spent a large part of that time taking notes about how to thrive and prosper in the political jungle…. Anthony’s wife has taken a page from her pseudo-mama’s dog-eared book and has perfected the art of damage control.”
Flowers wrote: “[W]e are now in the presence of Hillary Clinton, version 2.1.”
Maureen Dowd, the preachy liberal columnist for The New York Times, reminded her readers that Bill Clinton officiated at Abedin’s and Weiner’s wedding in 2010. And she managed to find one positive result from the latest Weiner escapades: “Aside from being a gift to clowns, hacks, punsters, rivals and the writers of ‘The Good Wife,’ Carlos Danger [one of Weiner’s texting non de plumes] is also a gift to political-scandal survivors. His behavior is so outlandish and contemptible — the sort of thing that used to require a trench coat and a park — that it allows Eliot Spitzer and Bill Clinton to act huffy.”
“Huffy” isn’t quite the right word to describe how Bill and Hillary Clinton feel about the constant comparisons — and reminders. A much better description would be “furious.” And no wonder. Of course they’d be angry about anything that reminds voters of the Lewinsky scandal. After all, it was Bill Clinton’s less-than-honest testimony back then (remember his claim that “it depends on what the meaning of ‘is’ is”?) that led to his impeachment by the House of Representatives.
Yes, if the media keep reminding people of what happened back then, it just might cut into the millions of dollars in speaking fees that Bill Clinton is earning today. Even worse, it could affect Hillary Clinton’s chances to be elected President herself in 2016. So no wonder they both wish that the comparisons would stop. And that Weiner would cancel his campaign for mayor and just quietly fade away.
The New York Times says it has seen and heard enough. An editorial on the subject concluded, “The serially evasive Mr. Weiner should take his marital troubles and personal compulsions out of the public eye, away from cameras, off the Web and out of the race for mayor of New York City.”
But it doesn’t look like that’s going to happen anytime soon. In fact, Weiner himself has repeatedly vowed that he won’t drop out of the race, no matter how many editors and politicians urge him to do so. “Quit isn’t the way we roll in New York City,” he declared.
He also said he didn’t much care what Hillary or Bill Clinton thought. “I am not terribly interested in what people who are not voters in the city of New York have to say,” Weiner told reporters.
Apparently, he doesn’t much care what likely Democratic voters in New York City think either. According to the latest Quinnipiac poll, a majority of them also say that Weiner should withdraw from the race.
Nor is Weiner’s sexting scandal all the negative publicity his campaign is receiving. Now it’s his communications director, Barbara Morgan, who’s making headlines. Seems she went on an expletive-filled rant against a campaign intern. And she did it while a reporter was recording every word.
I can’t repeat most of what Morgan said, because it was too X-rated for this publication. One of the few allowable epithets she used was “slutbag.” Will Morgan’s dirty language take the spotlight off her boss’s dirty text messages? Not for long.
In the meantime, there’s another election in New York City that will also test voter forgiveness. Former Governor Spitzer is running for city comptroller. Spitzer resigned as Governor in 2008, after only a year in office, when revelations emerged that he was Client No. 9 of a high-priced prostitution service.
And through it all, Spitzer’s wife, Sida, also stood by her man. That scandal was said to be the inspiration for the popular TV show “The Good Wife.”
So far, the media response to all of this has been to treat Weiner like a laughing-stock, his wife Abedin as an unfortunate victim and Hillary Clinton like an innocent bystander.
Hillary Clinton gets to enjoy lunch with the President outside the Oval Office, far above all the mud that’s being flung below her. She’ll pretend she doesn’t hear any of the comparisons with her former friend until New York’s mayoral election is over and Weiner’s sexting problem is finally forgotten.
At least, that’s what she hopes. Based on what’s happened since her husband’s sex scandal 15 years ago, Hillary Clinton has every reason to be optimistic.
