The ISX has been operational for 3 plus years but they have had limited access to stocks around the world. the non-operational of the ISX today is more of a fine tuning to ensure the New Exchange Platform is ready to go.

I'm going to be the advocate and say it's not the 2nd yet folks! Remember what Frank said last night about the 1166 rate and the penny stock family.

In our western culture we tend to want instant gratification and remember our government works differently than theirs.

This is all new for them, and there will be learning curves. Our congress sits on things for years and waits until the last minute to try and "fix" things. They can't agree to disagree here either.

Then congress goes on break for the summer , or winter and nothing gets done. I understand everyone is frustrated. Remember, this will happen. Keep the faith!

LoveThisFamily:  Yes! It is possibly a beautifully strategic move by the ISX to be "open" today and yet untradeably on vacation. This would give them an entire day to adjust to a new rate and join the market. Just my thoughts, IMO.

The ISX launched electronic trading on Sunday, raising hopes the faster method will attract foreign investment to this burgeoning but cash-strapped economy.

Since the exchange opened in 2004, all trading has been done by brokers crowding around large erasable boards to buy and sell stock — akin to watching a professor scribbling on the board in a college classroom. Trading under Iraq's system has been colorful,

as dapper men dressed in suits scream sale prices to their clients over cellphones, but it locked out all but a few foreign investors willing to take a chance on Iraq as it emerges from a longtime dictatorship and years of war.

Industry mouthpiece SmartGridNews finally admitted that “smart” meters are surveillance devices.

Of course they didn’t quite put it that bluntly.  In fact, they celebrate the ability of utilities to know what appliances people use as another tool to help craft the wonderful world of the future.

Below is my letter to the Arizona Corporation Commission pointing out that industry has finally come out and admitted what I and others have been saying for years.

Ladies and Gentlemen;

Here is breaking news. SmartGridNews has just come out of the closet and admitted what I and others have been saying all long: “Smart” meters are surveillance devices.
APS and utilities nationwide have been denying the surveillance capability of “smart” meters but here is one of the foremost “smart” meter cheerleaders in the world finally admitting the truth.

SmartGridNews calls such “smart” grid industry names as Telvent, Silver Spring Networks and Lockheed Martin its “major sponsors”. So of course the news story attempts to put a positive spin on the surveillance, hyping such nonsense as an “over 4% conservation [of energy] after just a few months”.

Wow, that means I might save four whole dollars and change on a one hundred dollar electrical bill. Where do I sign up to be spied on?

PS – In the article, note the creepy picture of a guy dressed in black and using binoculars. SmartGridNews is shameless to promote Peeping Toms as cool. Note also Orwellian phrasing such as "behavioral science" and turning ratepayers into "willing partners". It’s not a “smart” grid; it’s a sick grid.

Bluestar's Parting Commentary - "The Final Act" ...and ...which path will you choose?

Good Day/Night to all in Dinar/GCR Land!

It's been almost a year since I wrote an op-ed commentary on August 8th of last year that appeared here at Dinar Recaps.

At that time (as has been the case on more than a few occasions since then), many of us believed that the RV / GCR might be just around the corner in the "Light of Day"(a great song covered famously by Bruce Springsteen live), or "right upon us" or "imminent" or any one of a number of other scenarios that might fit the narrative that we so sorely and dearly wanted and desired.

Also, I postulated that a debate was raging as to whether this was a "Micro Event" (dictated by Iraq) or a "Macro Event" (driven by the GCR). It seemed that since chapter 7 had been lifted that the RV might actually finally happen and that the blessing had finally arrived. Wow, were MANY of us wrong!?

Since then we've had to learn the "hard way" that this event has NEVER been on our timetable. Instead, it has been a carefully orchestrated and deliberately protracted financial shift and spiritual test. Many lives have been changed, lost, and challenged during this time.

So, where are we? We are at the end of the winning "Micro Event" (Iraq's timetable wins) and it will meld into the second place "Macro Event". Sometimes they say that the hardest items to find are in plain sight. Surely it has been the case here with the RV/GCR. Might as we tried to determine the end game of this saga through a "chapter 7 ", "energy law" , "article" or some other cause and effect we were indeed "fooling ourselves" (Styx) and in many cases "hopium" overtook reality.

The plain sight object that needed to be removed has ALWAYS BEEN Nouri al-Maliki...Maliki "Saddam lite" (thank God there wasn't a bad tasting beer or soda called this) has put his country through a living hell the past 8 years and will depart shortly. Just after he leaves the stage kicking and screaming or without a wimper (who knows and quite frankly...DO WE CARE how he goes?) we will have the RV / GCR.

So ...after this "Final Act" will some of us still be preoccupied with being "right" about issues surrounding the revaluation? Will we still feel the need to be protective of our favorite Guru? Will voices of the Dinar community still clash over which group is best and why some others are not? And finally will we still have some Gurus pointing out what's wrong with other Gurus?

It's doubtful we will and even if we did it wouldn't mean anything. As a matter of fact,it NEVER meant anything .

There are so many good people in this God driven event...the question going forward is...

Which path will you choose?

Are the choices we make post RV/GCR going to be dedicated to the glory of God, betterment of humanity and our true desire to improve our world or will we fall prey to the short sighted actions that many people have once they attain sudden and sometimes unexpected wealth and good fortune.

After careful examination of the many fine people I have met and talked with during the past years on this incredible ride, I do believe that the right choice will be made by many Dinarians. In large part, this community is filled with caring and considerate people who have a deep belief in God.

So, the future looks bright and there are so many ways we can change and shape the future of this once and hopefully soon to be again GREAT country.

Alsumaria News / Baghdad - The MP from the parliamentary bloc of virtue Abdul Hussein al-Musawi, Sunday, that the National Alliance will choose a prime minister during the next two days, while pointing out that all the components of the alliance will attend the first meeting of the House of Representatives.

Moussawi said in an interview for “Alsumaria News”, “The mass of virtue with a mechanism to choose the prime minister, whether by voting or consensus among the components of the National Alliance to form the next government,” noting that “the heads of the blocks of the National Alliance will hold a meeting during the next two days to determine the appropriate personal for the presidency Minister “.
