FCC Commissioner BLASTS New "Open Internet Rules"

After casting a futile vote against the FCC’s plan to regulate the Internet as a public utility, Republican Commissioner Ajit Pai delivered a blistering attack on the new rules.

In his dissenting statement, Pai advanced three main objections to the Commission’s “Open Internet Order:” (RELATED: The Top 10 Failures of FCC Title II Utility Regulation)

1. The Internet has grown rapidly, creating untold economic benefits, largely because the government has refrained from interfering with it.
“For twenty years, there’s been a bipartisan consensus in favor of a free and open Internet … [and] the results speak for themselves. Dating back to the Clinton Administration, every FCC Chairman—Republican and Democrat—has let the Internet grow free from utility-style regulation.”
“But today, the FCC abandons those policies. It reclassifies broadband Internet access service as a Title II telecommunications service. It seizes unilateral authority to regulate Internet conduct, to direct where Internet service providers (ISPs) make their investments, and to determine
what service plans will be available to the American public.”

“This is … a radical departure from the bipartisan, market-oriented policies that have served us so well for the last two decades.” (RELATED: Net Neutrality Bait and Switch to Title II)

2. Title II regulations attempt to solve problems that don’t exist with enough consistency to address with federal government regulation.
Everyone seems to site Verizon’s nasty spat with Netflix here. The story goes that Verizon throttled Netflix’ streaming speeds until Netflix paid a ransom, thus Net Neutrality is necessary to protect hapless consumers and poor, little old Internet companies like Netflix (the folks at The Washington Post actually went so far as to make this connection directly).
No one mentions that Verizon took an absolute shellacking in the court of public opinion and clever consumers found a solution to the throttling that literally takes five minutes to fix — in short, the free market and free Internet largely prevailed on its own (as both are apt to do). Needless to say, far and few between are government regulations that are cheap and take five minutes to enact and don’t cause 10 more unintended problems in their wake (are there any?).

Here’s what Pai had to say:
“So the FCC is abandoning a 20-year-old, bipartisan framework for keeping the Internet free and open in favor of Great Depression-era legislation designed to regulate Ma Bell. But at least we’re getting something in return, right? Wrong. The Internet is not broken. There is no problem for the government to solve.”
“Nevertheless, the Order ominously claims that ‘[t]hreats to Internet openness remain today.’ It argues that broadband providers ‘hold all the tools necessary to deceive consumers, degrade content, or disfavor the content that they don’t like,’ and it asserts that the FCC continues ‘to hear concerns about other broadband provider practices involving blocking or degrading third-party applications.’”
“The evidence of these continuing threats? There is none; it’s all anecdote, hypothesis, and hysteria. A small ISP in North Carolina allegedly blocked VoIP calls a decade ago. Comcast capped BitTorrent traffic to ease upload congestion eight years ago. Apple introduced Facetime over Wi-Fi first, cellular networks later. Examples this picayune and stale aren’t enough to tell a coherent story about net neutrality. The bogeyman never had it so easy.”

3. Title II regulations will lead to new taxes and slower broadband speeds for consumers.
“Literally nothing in this Order will promote competition among ISPs. To the contrary, reclassifying broadband will drive competitors out of business. Monopoly rules designed for the monopoly era will inevitably move us in the direction of a monopoly. If you liked the Ma Bell monopoly in the 20th century, you’ll love Pa Broadband in the 21st.”
“One avenue for higher bills is the new taxes and fees that will be applied to broadband. If you look at your phone bill, you’ll see a ‘Universal Service Fee,’ or something like it. These fees—what most Americans would call taxes—are paid by Americans on their telephone service.”
“Consumers haven’t had to pay these taxes on their broadband bills because broadband has never before been a Title II service. But now it is. And so the Order explicitly opens the door to billions of dollars in new taxes. Indeed, it repeatedly states that it is only deferring a decision on new broadband taxes—not prohibiting them.”
“These Internet regulations will work another serious harm on consumers. Their broadband speeds will be slower.”

“The record is replete with evidence that Title II regulations will slow investment and innovation in broadband networks. Remember:  Broadband networks don’t have to be built. Capital doesn’t have to be invested here. Risks don’t have to be taken. The more difficult the FCC makes the business case for deployment, the less likely it is that broadband providers big and small will connect Americans with digital opportunities.”
“The Old World offers a cautionary tale here. Compare the broadband market in the United States to that in Europe, where broadband is generally regulated as a public utility. Today, 82 percent of Americans have access to 25 Mbps broadband speeds. In Europe, that figure is only 54 percent. Moreover, in the United States, average mobile broadband speeds are 30% faster than they are in Western Europe.”

Fukushima Radiation Spikes 7,000% - the MSM is Quiet About it

by Ethan A. Huff, Natural News
Cleanup crews trying to mitigate Japan's never-ending radiation crisis at Fukushima ran into more problems recently after sensors monitoring a drainage gutter detected a huge spike in radiation levels from wastewater pouring into the Pacific Ocean.
The Tokyo Electric Power Company says radiation levels were up to 70 times, or 7,000 percent, higher than normal, prompting an immediate shutdown of the drainage instrument.
The first readings came around 10 a.m. local time on February 22, setting off alarms not once but twice as radiation levels spiked to extremely high levels
"The levels of beta ray-emitting substances, such as strontium-90, measured 5,050 to 7,230 becquerels per liter of water between 10:20 a.m. and 10:50 a.m.," reported The Japan Times.
"TEPCO requires radioactivity levels of groundwater at the plant discharged into the sea to remain below 5 becquerels."
TEPCO shut off leaky gutter, but radiation continued to spike throughout day
The gutter was quickly decommissioned to prevent further radiation emissions, but the leaks reportedly continued throughout the day, with radiation levels hovering between 10 and 20 times higher than normal. TEPCO says it doesn't know what caused the sudden radiation spikes.
"With emergency surveys of the plant and monitoring of other sensors, we have no reason to believe tanks storing radioactive waste water have leaked," stated a plant official to the media. "We have shut the gutter [from pouring water to the bay]. We are currently monitoring the sensors at the gutter and seeing the trend."
Multiple major leaks reported as Fukushima generates 400 tons of new radioactive waste daily
Just four days prior to the leak, the International Atomic Energy Agency congratulated TEPCO for its continued cleanup efforts at the Fukushima site.
This is despite numerous other radiation leaks, some of them quite major, that have occurred in recent months at the shuttered facility.
Related: Japanese Professors Says Fukushima is a "World-Ends-Scenario"
Back in October 2013, for instance, a failed transfer of radioactive wastewater from one storage tank to another resulted in more than four tons of highly contaminated sludge being dumped into the ground. Not long before this, 300 tons of radioactive waste reportedly leaked from another nearby storage tank.
As we reported earlier in the month, a worker actually died after falling into a radioactive storage tank during a routine inspection. The 33-foot container that swallowed the man is one of many at the site that holds a portion of the 400 tons of highly radioactive water generated daily at Fukushima.
Fukushima workers build one new storage tank daily, but this can't go on forever

Richard Russell – A New World Currency Is On The Way But Here Is The Biggest Surprise

February 23, 2015
As the world continues to digest breaking news out of Greece and Ukraine, the Godfather of newsletter writers, 90-year old Richard Russell, warned that a new world currency is on the way but he also covered what will be the biggest surprise about this new currency. Russell also described how this will impact the entire world, including major markets.
Richard Russell: “On Friday the Dow closed at a new record high. But today it appeared that the market was consolidating its gains. There are two ways to operate in a bull market. When we're early in a bull market, dividends are higher and stocks are relatively cheap, we can take a large position on the thesis that losses are limited.

The US Department of State is in a complete tizzy-fit about Edward Snowden's disclosures of incredible NSA crimes and its Secret War against Americans and the World on behalf of their owners and controllers, the Khazarian Mafia Chieftains.

This US Department of State news conference by this slick very attractive lady who is lying through her teeth is one of the best examples of “Evil with a Nice Face” one could ever imagine.
Her little State Department performance actually sets a whole new standard for Evil with a Nice Face, and is a perfect example of that which was presented in Evil with a Nice Face Part I.
Yes, this very attractive US Department of State spokesperson is such a happy phony, good looking, slick, two-faced liar on behalf of the USG and the NSA, that no normal person could never imagine that her command performance designed deceive and conceal.
Yes, her two-face lies on behalf of the USG and specifically the NSA are beyond normal imagination!
But what was the real truth was she concealing from the American People with her bald-faced Big Government Lies, Propaganda and False-narratives?
Actually she was spinning nonsensical absurd arguments about Edward Snowden’s disclosures of serious NSA crimes and trying to shift blame to him and keep it away from the NSA and the USG, both partners in a secret war being waged against the American People and the most serious crimes ever committed inside America on 9-11-01.

YOU HAVE TO HEAR THIS FOR YOURSELF! UNBELIEVABLE! MUST WATCH

When attorney Snee pointed out an article published in the American Academy of Family Physicians by the sponsor of bill, where she disagreed with her doctor and rejected his advice regarding a drug she was taking while breastfeeding her new born child, the hearing became quite interesting. The Oregon Senator and doctor who has sponsored this bill was sitting directly across from the attorney, and she became quite agitated. She basically argued that she had a right to make a “personal decision” for her and her baby based on her own research, which disagreed with the doctor who was a specialist in this area. She was angry at the attorney for bringing this matter up, but the attorney replied that he and other citizens of Oregon simply wanted the freedom to make the same medical decision for themselves.

House Passes One-Week Funding Extension for Homeland Security

A multi-partisan activist group established to expose and resist US imperialism, corpora-terrorism, and the New World Order
House Passes One-Week Funding Extension for Homeland Security | 27 Feb 2015 | Republicans vowing to govern effectively as a congressional majority failed a fundamental test Friday, when House leaders only narrowly managed to avert a partial shutdown of the Department of Homeland Security after an embarrassing defeat earlier in the day. The seven-day funding extension, approved by a vote of 357 to 60, came just hours before money for the department was to run out at midnight. The accord was reached after a stunning and humiliating setback for Speaker John A. Boehner and his leadership team earlier Friday, when the House voted against their original plan to extend funding for the department for three weeks — a position that Mr. Boehner had considered a fail-safe. More than 50 House Republicans defected, voting against the bill.

Individual Rights

A “right” is a moral principle defining and sanctioning a man’s freedom of action in a social context. There is only one fundamental right (all the others are its consequences or corollaries): a man’s right to his own life. Life is a process of self-sustaining and self-generated action; the right to life means the right to engage in self-sustaining and self-generated action—which means: the freedom to take all the actions required by the nature of a rational being for the support, the furtherance, the fulfillment and the enjoyment of his own life. (Such is the meaning of the right to life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness.)
The concept of a “right” pertains only to action—specifically, to freedom of action. It means freedom from physical compulsion, coercion or interference by other men.
Thus, for every individual, a right is the moral sanction of a positive—of his freedom to act on his own judgment, for his own goals, by his own voluntary, uncoerced choice. As to his neighbors, his rights impose no obligations on them except of a negative kind: to abstain from violating his rights.
The right to life is the source of all rights—and the right to property is their only implementation. Without property rights, no other rights are possible. Since man has to sustain his life by his own effort, the man who has no right to the product of his effort has no means to sustain his life. The man who produces while others dispose of his product, is a slave.
Bear in mind that the right to property is a right to action, like all the others: it is not the right to an object, but to the action and the consequences of producing or earning that object. It is not a guarantee that a man will earn any property, but only a guarantee that he will own it if he earns it. It is the right to gain, to keep, to use and to dispose of material values.

Consumers complain of toxic taste, smell in Nabisco graham crackers

NBC News contacted several people who posted complaints on ConsumerAffairs.com in the last few weeks. Each had opened a box of the low fat Honey Maid graham crackers and they all had virtually identical stories.
“It smelled and tasted like paint thinner,” said Linda Salerno who lives near Schenectady, N.Y. “It tasted horrible, so I immediately spit it out. The smell was so horrible that it frightened me.”
Salerno had two boxes of the crackers at home and found the problem with both of them. She said the smell was so bad that she considered going to the emergency room.
David Banes of McEwen, Texas also experienced an unpleasant surprise when he opened a new box of the Honey Maid graham crackers.
“It was a real sour taste. As soon as I put it in my mouth I almost gagged,” he said.
Cathy Ganley of Vienna, Va. stopped buying Nabisco graham crackers after her recent experience.
“It smelled like a mix of acetone paint thinner and rancid oil,” she said. “It was something no sane person would eat or feed their family.”
Ganley had four boxes of the crackers and threw them all away.
Many of the people who’ve complained about a strange smell or taste point out that these Nabisco graham crackers are made in Mexico.

While You Snoozed: Corpgov Published "National Mandatory Adult Vaccinations" (Especially For YOU)

The transnational pharmaceutical cartel will be positioning itself to profit handsomely if a federally-mandated adult immunization program becomes law. The proposed US Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) policy will be implemented alongside the Obama administration’s Affordable Care Act (ACA), thereby becoming a standard component of US national healthcare policy.
Published on February 6, 2015 amid the “measles outbreak” media frenzy, the HHS is accepting “public comment” on its Draft National Adult Immunization Plan (NAIP) until March 9, 2015. Under the NAIP, all adult American citizens will be compelled to receive current and retroactive vaccination regimens that may amount to several dozen “shots” per individual during their “catch-up” phase. Under the federally-mandated immunization schedule children presently receive 49 vaccines before the age of six.

At approximately noon on February 25, 2015, the Internet went down in a wide swath ranging from just north of Phoenix stretching to Flagstaff, Arizona. Internet service was restored the following day around 1pm local time.
The very first reports I received about the outage, coming out of Wickenburg and Prescott, was that the ISP from Century Link went down because a car crashed into a transformer. Shortly after that, reports stated that a construction crew hit a power line causing Internet service to go down. From the Phoenix media, we now know that this was the work of “vandals” who discovered where cables, buried several feet underground, were located in the midst of rough terrain. These “vandals” subsequently cut through the Internet cables which were inches to a foot thick and this was the cause this massive outage.
The event had a crippling effect on local communities from central to northern Arizona.
-911 service and the communications of first responders were taken down.
-Point of sale debit/credit card transactions could not be initiated due to the outage.
-ATM’s did not work.
-Banks were not able to access their computers and were forced to issue paper receipts for any deposit.
-All cell phone providers were inoperable except for Verizon Wireless.
-Most cable companies were not able to carry programming (e.g. Phoenix TV stations) due to the takedown of live streaming. The same was also true for many radio stations.
...
In short, businesses, schools and personal lives were totally disrupted. Yet, the national coverage afforded to this major event was negligible as I discovered after calling friends and colleagues from across the country to gauge their reaction. As of yesterday afternoon, most people had not heard about this event. I am not surprised as similar events transpired in both Florida and Oklahoma, AT THE SAME TIME!
...
What happened over three state region was not the actions of “vandals”. This was a highly coordinate and sophisticated attack upon certain aspects of our grid designed to take down communications and commerce. I suspect that Russian Spetsnaz were the boots on the ground for this beta test in preparation for martial law. The only question which truly remains is how far away are we from complete implementation of this operation? FULL REPORT

Spock is dead - Leonard Nimoy of Star Trek dies

Leonard Nimoy, the sonorous, gaunt-faced actor who won a worshipful global following as Mr. Spock, the resolutely logical human-alien first officer of the Starship Enterprise in the television and movie juggernaut “Star Trek,” died on Friday morning at his home in the Bel Air section of Los Angeles. He was 83.
His wife, Susan Bay Nimoy, confirmed his death, saying the cause was end-stage chronic obstructive pulmonary disease.
Mr. Nimoy announced last year that he had the disease, which he attributed to years of smoking, a habit he had given up three decades earlier. He had been hospitalized earlier in the week.
His religious upbringing influenced the characterization of Spock. The character’s split-fingered salute, he often explained, had been his idea: He based it on the kohanic blessing, a manual approximation of the Hebrew letter shin, which is the first letter in Shaddai, one of the Hebrew names for God.

As the tree trimmer was considering his options, there was another man who lived in the nearest house, who came outside. He had been observing the situation. He spoke up and said to the tree trimmer: "You just walk in there like you own the damn place, and those dogs will leave you alone."

Menstrual synchronicity in action
Dear Cecil:
Your informational bursts usually don't blow me away, but the piece you did on "synchronous menstruation" sure did. Quite by coincidence it meshed with a business conversation I had the prior week with a computer company middle management functionary. I manage technology transfer for a university in Illinois. One of our most successful recent inventions is an innovation in computer monitors known as plasma display. Their high resolution, soft orange color, and versatility are well suited for those who must stare at computers on a daily basis, i.e., engineers, designers, bank functionaries, etc.
A company (which shall remain nameless other than the designation "Big Blue") has been utilizing this invention in their product line for the past eight years or so. Not long after production geared up, Big Blue management noticed that the junk bins were filling up with rejected screens at an inordinately high rate at a certain time of the month.
Plasma displays involve the chemical bonding of electronic circuitry to the inside of the screen's glass face. Prior to the recent introduction of automated production equipment, the bonding process was done by hand by female assembly workers.
Yes, Cecil, you guessed it. When Big Blue's efficiency experts got done number-crunching, they found that the workers' menstrual periods were collectively peaking at around the same time the junk bins were running over. Why? It seems that the perspiration on the fingertips of the assemblers became more acidic at their collective "time," which quite effectively screwed up the chemical bonding process. When people tell me the world runs on sex, I now understand what they mean.
— Robert C., Chicago/Champaign
Cecil replies:
On the assumption that the Big Blue you're talking about is more commonly known by the initials I-B-M, I called up to check on your story, Bob. Nobody at IBM can recall anything about it, but they admit it might have happened. Makes a good yarn, in any case.

What is the point of the above expressions?
Human beings are a life-form, the same as any other "form" in nature. What appears to be a complex form, is just a bunch of simple forms combined.
When a human watches a movie, a tearjerker, and tears begin to form, what is happening? Is there an identification with the story? Has the human being been inspired to personally materialize a version of the idea being expressed in the movie? Sadness, loss? Feelings that materialize tears? This could be called inducement.
