ABC Blasphemes Jesus with New Show ‘GCB’

ABC-TV has taken blasphemy against God, the Bible, God’s church, and Jesus Christ to new levels of depravity.
The attached advertisement for ABC’s new program, GCB, found in a New York subway, not only is a blasphemous use of the biblical command to “Love thy neighbor.” It also blasphemes Jesus Christ, who died on the Cross to save the souls of all people who have faith in Him.
Based on the book “Good Christian Bi----s” by Kim Gatlin, GCB is about a woman named Amanda Vaughn, played by Leslie Bibb, who returns home to Dallas with her two children after facing marital and financial troubles. GCB’s trailers, ads, and name suggest this series will not be family friendly or even respectful towards Christians.
According to information about the program received by Movieguide, Amanda is a former “mean girl” who has put the past behind her, while her former class mates and victims have not. They are the new mean girls who are as likely to gossip viciously about their returned rival as they are to offer up a humiliating prayer about her in church. As soon as their leader Carlene Cockburn, played by Kristin Chenoweth, sees her arrive she calls her friends, smugly gossiping about how Amanda’s former husband died in a car crash while having an affair with her best friend. Chenoweth’s character then halts the talk saying, “Ladies, it is not appropriate to speak of such things on the phone.” After a pause she continues, “I’ll see ya in church.” Another clip shows Carlene and her friends confronting Amanda about the moral code of their community.
The following scene shows Carlene in an office getting an invitation from a man to “do it.” Turning religious pictures face down, she crawls over the desk, as well as the man, and gives him a heavy kiss. Meanwhile, Amanda’s gun-collecting, shallow mother, played by Annie Potts says, “I feel certain that the good Lord would like me to have a new fur coat.”
Based on the trailers, Amanda Vaughn appears to be the only sane member of this community, and she doesn’t appear to be a practicing Christian. When her mother drags her and her children to church, Amanda tells her mother that she “didn’t raise the kids with any particular religion.” While we all know that there are hypocrites in every institution and every religion, GCB uses southern Christian women as the sole, stereotypical examples of self-indulgence, shallowness and hypocrisy.
Other scenes show young girls being encouraged to wear revealing tops. When one mother expresses concern that her daughter‘s old cheerleader uniform is to tight, Chenoweth’s character tells her not to worry “cleavage helps your cross hang straight.” Later at the game, the football team cheers when the girl’s vest pops open.
Clearly, this isn’t exactly a message Christian parents would want to send their daughters.
Although the series may prove better than its trailers and name suggest, the fact that GCB ridicules God, morality, and Christians, who are little more than stereotypes, raises concerns for both families and Christians. In this light, everyone should remember that ridicule was a tool that Adolph Hitler used to murder six million Jews during World War II.
We urge everyone to call or write a letter complaining about this series (which begins airing Sunday night) to the following Disney and ABC executives:
Robert Iger, CEO
The Walt Disney Company
Anne Sweeney, President
Disney-ABC Television Group

Without Ego, have I evolved so much that I don't get it? The arguments these people make are 'foreign' to me.
I knew a long time ago about the 'dangers' of programming. People talk about 'mind control' and Montauk, and on television they say, 'regularly scheduled program'. Once I knew the 'intent' I removed myself from it. I do not pay for a service that offends me.

I know of the trespass bill, where a US Citizen can't protest in the public if an official is close by. I know of the NDAA, where a US Citizen can be indefinitely detained. I know of the conversations where the US Gov't says they can kill a US Citizen if they are a terrorist (now that one, I like for the bankers because they have performed, 4 out of 5 or is it 5 out of 6 defined aspects in the definition of terrorist acts.) I do not join nor remain a member of a society or system that offends me.

Christians should practice some of the things they preach to others. If your right hand offend thee, well, get out of the system and don't let it be your right hand.

So many feel entitled to be part of a system they were not here when it was created and can't trace their ancestry to anyone who signed their founding documents.

So what! They create a show that offends some and is accepted by others! They do that all the time, with shows that make the male look like an idiot and the female the only one with enough intelligence to run a house. The Simpsons, Family Guy, Everybody Loves Raymond, etc.
It's time to let their Creator judge them for what they do. It's time to remove yourself from what offends you, and while you are at it, stop standing up and Idol worshiping a flag at every ceremony because everyone else does.
Ignore the show and it will go away after a few episodes or a season, but if there is an audience that wants this it will stay on 'their' television, and if people buy the products advertised, that will stay too!
I can see all of us are not awake, even though the eyes are open and we claim to see what we see.
First move before you complain, make sure your house is not divided. You are either one of them or you are not. If you have papers that indicate you are a US Citizen, in any way, then please be quiet, your God is creating what it wants you to have while it controls you from womb to tomb.
If you are unwinding those contracts and going back and stating 'no', in your employee profile where you can update your emergency contacts, or in your drivers license where you can change your address, and on all new applications you fill out, then what 'they' do has nothing to do with you, as you are not a party to 'that' system.
If you plan to vote, then be quiet and let your system do what it does to satisfy the majority, as majority rules in a Democracy, you should know that.

Did not read the article, but did watch the encore...twice. I live on that county and I am extremely embarrassed by the portrayal. However, a part of Dallas IS that! YES, I want to move!

Well while it is disrespectful in this country we have freedom os speech. If you want you can sue the show or form a protest against it. As for the connection with the Nazi propaganda. I don't see this as valid simply because this country has a christian majority. The Jewish people where a minority in Nazi Germany. I think that if you enjoy those kind of shows in general you already have a problem to begin with. Reality TV is destroying four culture not just religion

i think people have the right to choose to watch something or not. as far as offending christians goes, would it offend them to talk about all the people who were murdered in the name of christ over the millenia, or how participating in communion is actualy a flesh and blood ritual? people also have the right to believe what they want, but if you want to understand the truth, look up George Kavassilas, and you will see that its not just television that is our enemy but every aspect of this society that has been created for us, including all religion.

I am a Christian and will not watch it, and will not buy the products that pay for the show. I think if each one of us who is offended by this stuff decides not to watch it, and not purchase the products that support it, they may get the idea.

What is happening is no surprise to God who made the heavens and the earth. Mankind has not changed since God flooded the earth in Noah's time.

Psalms 53:1 The fool hath said in his heart, There is no God. corrupt are they, and have done abominable iniquity: there is none that doeth good. 2 God looked down from heaven upon the children of men, to see if there were any that did understand, that did seek God. 3 Every one of them is gone back: they are altogether become filthy; there is none that doeth good, no, not one.

Revelation 9:20 And the rest of the men which were not killed by these plagues yet repented not of the works of their hands, that they should not worship devils, and idols of gold, and silver, and brass, and stone, and of wood: which neither can see, nor hear, nor walk: 21 Neither repented they of their murders, nor of their sorceries, nor of their fornication, nor of their thefts.

However, here is a promise to those who do repent and follow our Lord Jesus Christ -- see end of verse 2:
Isaiah 60:1 Arise, shine; for thy light is come, and the glory of the LORD is risen upon thee. 2 For, behold, the darkness shall cover the earth, and gross darkness the people: but the LORD shall arise upon thee, and his glory shall be seen upon thee.

To ANON 5:33AM Excellent words of wisdom!I watched the movie last nite via hulu.Thought it was excellent,it portrayed the majority of christianty that I have been around very well, although most aren't as blatantly as in the movie, they tend to hide it better.Christains would do well to watch it and pay attention to how Amanda acts,as she is the only one who truely acts like a christain but doesn't claim to be.Going to church doesn't make you a christain, quoting scripture verses doesn't make you a christain, and saying you are a christain does not make you one.Actually living and integrating Christ like qualities in your life make you a real and genuine spiritual person. And if you are living via the creative source within you,YOU will be vibrating at such a level, that you will have no fear of someone controling you,no fear of anyone making fun of your religion,no fear of nazis, moslems, islams, comies, liberals, conservatives, christains, athiests,or the elite.Because the vibration of truth's frequency is higher than any of that. You have the option of not watching what you want to-Turn off the tv-read your favorite book or go for a walk.As for me I can't wait to see the next show on GCB.I THINK IT IS HILARIOUS!
