IGNORANCE IN CHRISTIANITY MAKES IT WEAK! FROM ERASMUS OF AMERICA - JULY 15, 2015
MANY
YEARS AGO I LIVED IN WASH., D.C. AND USED TO VISIT THE CATHOLIC LIBRARY
OF GEORGETOWN UNIVERSITY, OLDEST CATHOLIC AND JESUIT UNIVERSITY IN
AMERICA AND ESTABLISHED BACK IN 1789. I was interested in seeing their
collection of early writings of Christianity which I found to be a small
section of books in their large collection of books. The one book that
had some good research material in it on the old writings of first Christianity was :
Peter King, 1st Baron King - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
1669–22 July 1734) was an English lawyer and politician, who became lord ... An
inquiry into the constitution, discipline, unity, and worship of the
primitive church : that flourished within the first three hundred years
after Christ
This
was the one book of quality based upon early writings of Christianity
for the first 300 years that I found in this section of the Georgetown
University library. He belonged to the Church of England, but wrote a
quality historical study of early Christianity for the first three
centuries and would have been a credit to the Catholic Church or any
Protestant church that he belonged to. The Methodist Church reprinted
his book in 1841 but it is a valuable early Christian reference book for
any branch of Christianity today to study. His material collected in
this book was brilliant research work on early Christian history.
I noticed a sad note in this collection of books there at Georgetown
University. This university was for Catholic scholars from across
America and I saw many of the books with something of early Christian
writings in them were signed out maybe once each one year or two years
which meant that the students almost never read any of them while
attending this university.
While I assume that some Catholic scholars elsewhere were more
seriously interested in early Christian writings that those apparently
attending Georgetown University back when I visited this library of
theirs, this made it understandable where I saw comments of some
Catholic bishops in America who answered Protestant questions with poor
quality answers to what they asked about. A typical answer to why the
Catholics prayed on Sunday was that they changed the day from Saturday to Sunday later on by authority of some Catholic bishops. A nonsense answer and based upon poor scholarship on their part.
I later had a large private collection of mine own of the early
writings of Christianity and the correct answer to the Protestant
question is directly answered in the New Testament itself. Acts 20:7 and
1 Cor. 16:2 both state that the main Christian worship was on Sunday.
And the Apostle Paul representing the authority of the Council
of Jerusalem representing the Apostles of Jesus Christ there including
the Apostle Peter would have denounced the church worship services on Sunday as the main weekly worship day instead of the Jewish Saturday
if this practice was not approved of by the Apostles of Jesus Christ
who were still alive then. It was the Apostles of Jesus Christ then and
not later Catholic bishops who set up Sunday
as the main worship day for all the Christian churches. If you read the
early Christian writings of how we were under a new covenant now which
replaced the Old Testament Covent, you would then understand why it was
preferred to use Sunday
as the weekly main worship day for the Christians led by the Apostles
of Jesus Christ. The Old Testament itself had the prophecy how the day
would come with the Messiah when the Old Covenant would be replaced by a
New Covenant from God. The early Church liked to often refer to this
Old Testament prophecy to explain why they did what they did under the
New Covenant of Jesus Christ.
Bible scholars of both the Protestant and Catholic side were weakened
in effective Christian scholarship by not thinking it necessary to read
in depth the early Christian writings of the first three centuries A.D. I
give as an example how Grant Jeffrey, a Protestant scholar, discovered
this flaw of both Protestant and Catholic scholarship as to when Jesus
Christ was
historically
born. They had read from Josephus's Antiquities Of The Jews about the
lunar eclipse shortly around when Herod the Great died and concluded
that Jesus Christ was born 5 B.C. or earlier. Grant Jeffrey found the
missing lunar eclipse 1 B.C. in astronomy the other scholars had failed
to find out about and so Grant Jeffrey concluded with scholastic cunning
that Jesus Christ was likely born in 2 B.C. or one year forward or
backward from this. I agreed with the conclusion of Grant Jeffrey
because early Christian writings said that Jesus Christ was born 28
years after the death of Cleopatra of Egypt. History says that she died
in 30 B.C. and subtract 28 years off from that and with Roman math which
I call stick math Jesus Christ should have been born in 2 B.C. and with
a few months variation could have been 1 B.C. or else 3 B.C. the same
position as Grant Jeffrey when alive. I liked him as a Christian scholar
because he thought things through which many Christian scholars did
not!
One Protestant church claimed that making the sign of the cross was a
"pagan" practice invented by the Catholic Church during the Middle Ages.
Now because I read the early Christian writings which too many Bible
scholars never read I noticed in one of the writings of Tertullian
around 200 A.D. where the Christians practiced the "ancient" custom of
making the sign of the cross which was apparently a way Christians could
identify themselves with other Christians while the pagans did not know
that Christians were signaling other Christians there around them that
they were Christians too.
And I read of another "pagan" practice that the Roman Catholic Church
invented celebrating the birthday of Jesus Christ on December 25
in the Middle Ages and that Jesus Christ was not born in that time
period of the year. They wrote that "Christmas" was started in the
Middle Ages as an invented fictional celebration of when Jesus Christ
was born. In the early Christian Church across the Roman Empire they
celebrated soon after the death of Jesus Christ "The Feast of the
Nativity" for the birthday of Jesus Christ. The Church of Rome
celebrated Dec. 25
from the early times on and the Church in the East celebrated a
slightly different date. Then somewhere around 320 years or so after
Jesus died, St. Chrysostom, the "golden orator" of Christianity in the
Eastern half of the Roman Empire announced with great excitement that a
delegation from the Church of the East from Constantinople had visited
Rome and found in the ancient records of the Imperial Tax Archives of
Rome the birthday of Jesus Christ when Joseph and Mary visited Bethlehem
for the tax census and Jesus was born on Dec. 25 as claimed by the Church at Rome.
I found that the Pharisees of Israel then thought that the Roman solar
calendar was more accurate than the Jewish lunar calendar and so at that
time coordinated their calendar with the Roman Calendar. So Jesus
Christ would have been born on the Jewish holiday of Hanukkah which is
the Jewish Feast of Lights and symbolizes that God dwells among us. That
is why the religious pilgrims had the inn full as they were going to
worship at the Temple at Jerusalem a few miles away. And the shepherds
were selling their lambs to the pilgrims if they wanted a sacrifice at
the Temple for themselves. And what in early Christianity was called
"The Feast Of the Nativity" which celebrated the birth of Jesus Christ
was celebrated from early Christianity on and mentioned in the
"Constitutions Of the Holy Apostles" maybe around 330 to 400 A.D. as
having been on Hanukkah on the Jewish religious calendar. A Jewish
convert to Christianity wrote the date in those writings based upon the
Jewish religious calendar.
The Church at Antioch was founded by the Apostle Peter and grew into
the Greek Orthodox Church, Russian Orthodox Church, etc. starting from
the Eastern half of the Roman Empire. The Church at Rome which became
the bigger half of Christianity starting from then was started by Peter
and Paul in Rome. So the Apostle Peter established the main two branches
of the Christian Church on earth and also called the Catholic Church
meaning in Latin the Universal Church.
Early catacomb writings on tombs of Christians buried at Rome, etc.
around 100 A.D. and afterwards asked the living to pray for their dead
souls to help them in the hereafter. And Christians back then in some of
their liturgies asked the dead martyrs to pray for the living
Christians on earth. There is a section of early Christian teachings
here that are evaded by many Christian scholars today. I found early
Christian scholarship higher grade than almost any Bible scholarship I
see today. They were thorough in their use of Bible verses, etc. and
tied the knots of logic normally better than many Christian scholars
today.
Romans 14 & 15 showed the policy of the Apostle Paul how Christians
back then could have different religious conclusions or beliefs on some
points and so long as not challenging the main pillars of Christian
teachings could be allowed differences on Christian beliefs on non-earth
shaking points. By this early Christian policy, you could reunify most
of the Christian churches without loss of face of the separated
churches.
There were traditions and ordinances left to the churches by the
Apostles of Jesus Christ. Look for reference to this from such as 2
Thes. 2:35
and 3.6, and 1 Cor. 11:2. In bad scholarship, some Protestant scholars
misread one New Testament verses and did not read correctly what it was
saying about traditions referred to Old Testament issues and not New
Testament.
Both Protestant and Catholic have pretty much dropped one ancient
teaching of early Apostolic Christianity. Look it up in search engines
about "The Pauling Privilege" on what grounds a Christian could divorce
and remarry without sin or forfeiture to right of Holy Communion, etc.
And if there is no power to bind or else loose sins in the churches,
then why does the New Testament list this religious authority being
granted to the churches of Jesus Christ?
I am aiming for the day when we may invite scholars from all sides of
Christianity, heavily use the Early Writings of Apostolic Christianity
to undo many misunderstandings that divide Christianity today when this
is not necessary, and let's see where we end up. I am totally on the
side of early Apostolic Christianity and if you will notice, I step on
the toes of either Catholic or Protestant scholars at times when I am
unsold on what they claim.
By the way, there are massive Miracles of God in Christianity even
today and what are the churches doing keeping quiet on stunning Miracles
of God which would win nearly all to belief in God? Scared to honor God
in our modern society? Two times I had stunning Miracles of God in my
own life. I had a broken toe for four years, looked like a bent fishhook
and when Evangelist Ronald Coyne of the "Plastic Eye Miracle"
prayed for me, my toe bones floated apart which felt incredible and then
my broken toe in my left foot was instantly straightened out and healed
totally in maybe 30 seconds flat! I told Jesus that I refused medical
help on this broken toe and when Jesus was ready, give me a testimonial
on it when instantly healed by a miracle of Jesus Christ. I had to wait
four years but Jesus honored my prayer through the ministry of Rev.
Ronald Coyne who saw with or without plastic eye inserted into his empty
right eye socket. He lost his right eye when around 6 years old and was
in a startling miracle crusade was instantly healed of his blindness in
his empty right eye socket around 7 years old and could then for the
rest of his life see with plastic eye or else empty right eye socket. He
was written up in Oklahoma when this happened and the startled
newspaper reporters stated that they could not explain how he could
suddenly see with plastic eye socket or else empty right eye socket when
the plastic eye was taken out.
The other Miracle of God was when a police officer with the Seneca
Police Department who I knew well was mass smashed in a car accident in
1990 and the wife of his partner on the police force called my store to
tell how he was so smashed up and the hospital said that he was so
smashed up and they did not think that he would live through the day. If
he did, he would be paralyzed for life. Not a voice, but an instinct
addressed me that said that Jesus would grant me his life if I asked for
it. I prayed for him in the name of Jesus Christ and my words came out
different than what I had planned. I asked Jesus to live him live and be
healed until Jesus returned to earth. At the hospital they were shocked
and he was instantly healed of all massive injuries including a leg
bone sticking out through the skin and disconnected from the hip bone.
They had reset the leg bone back to connection with the hip bone and
suddenly all his injuries disappeared. He walked out of the hospital
with the hospital staff and chief surgeon in utter shock when this
happened. I sort of asked Jesus later why this incredible Miracle of God
occurred. Instinct replied back, Jesus liked me and did not like
Christians to criticize me for seeking to practice total Christianity
when they did not. This was the sign of Jesus that Jesus stood behind me
against Wash., D.C. and other enemies of Christianity in America and
elsewhere. The initials of this police officer were L.B. and there is
only one police officer in 1990 with this wild accident that he had.
This is public record for all the world to verify if you require that.
Jesus smiled on me that day to show that Jesus backed me against the
enemies of Jesus in America and elsewhere who try to smear any Christian
pushing to return to total Apostolic Christianity for all the
Protestants and Catholics in America and later elsewhere.
Many years ago I had one vision from Jesus where I saw America after it
had been destroyed by nuclear attack. Jesus told me that I could have
stopped this. I understood the message given me. If I acted, I could say
America from being annihilated. If I did not act, all of America is
scheduled to be destroyed because America would not return to God like
the American of 1776. This Pentecostal evangelist sounds like the
message given me how to save America from being annihilated during my
lifetime. That is why I publicized him.
Those who are on God's side in America, back me in passage of the Omni
Law I show on my national website. Those who do not care what happens to
America, their own families, etc., don't back me. For whatever reason
which I may not know why, it seems that Jesus likes me and I should be
the one representing America when America is to face the pending
judgment and wrath of God against America. If I can make promises to God
on behalf of the American people that America is now returning
seriously to God, God will take my word on behalf of the American people
and give you the chance to prove that you intend to straighten out as a
people and nation. I understand that I am allowed to bargain with God
for a second chance for America with God. I am no messiah, just I always
felt the smile of God and God likes me for whatever hidden reason. If
God likes me, might as well use this to help out the American people
with. God can love a people, but not like them due to their rotten ways
or evil that they live for rather than God and good in life.

Yours For God And Country, Erasmus Of America (Pen name for that
American who admired Erasmus of the time of Martin Luther who stood for
reform of Christianity rather than destruction of Christianity as so
many churches stand for today in their lack of loyalty and integrity to
Jesus Christ and the Church that He founded close to 2,000 years ago.)
P.S. I
back good Christian scholars from all official sides of Christianity
and there are good scholars from all sides! The Greek Orthodox writer
Anthony M. Conaiis made a pretty condensed, concise listing of so many
of the early main teachings of Christianity back when the Church at
Antioch and the Church at Rome were both founded by the Apostle Peter.
His book is "Introducing The Orthodox Church" which while written for
the Orthodox Church really is a pretty good summary of so many key
teachings of early Christianity. I think it reflects how the Roman
Catholic Church did not publicize enough the early Christian writings
and teachings when they used the word transubstantiation to explain the
spiritual meaning to the Holy Communion of bread and wine. The early
Apostolic Christian word used meaning the same thing for Holy Communion
was the Latin word "transmutation" meaning changing one substance into
another. Read the writings of St. Justin Martyr maybe around 130 A.D.
who was the golden orator of Christianity then and he used this word to
explain transmutation. Also, he debated the Jewish scholar around this
time when the Jewish scholar said that the Christians were heretics to
Judaism because they practiced Sunday instead of Saturday
for their main worship service weekly. And for Catholic scholars The
Scofield Reference Bible clearly identified what New Testament verses
showed the Christians now worshipped on Sunday instead of Saturday while the Apostles were still alive. And The Dake's Annotated Reference Bible massively writes up these Bible verses showing Sunday
for the key day of worship for Christians and that Constantine the
Great contrary to false claims did not change the Christian worship
service from Saturday to Sunday.
Dake was brilliant in his massive writing on this subject. You see that
Protestant scholars sometimes defend Catholic positions better than the
Catholics do!

Erasmus...I love reading what you write, but please...use God's word and not the doctrine's of men to base your teachings. For instance Acts. 20:7 and I Cor. 16:2 have absolutely NOTHING to do with Sabbath keeping. They simply mention meeting on the first day of the week. Hello!! They met...not to worship but to take care of business and eat. The book of Genesis, however, emphatically states that the 7th day was sanctified and set apart. It (the seventh day commandment) was repeated when the Ten Commandments were given hundreds and hundreds of years later.. In fact, that commandment begins with the word remember.: "Remember the seventh day to keep it holy"... as it had been set aside at the time of creation and observed by men of God long before Christ came on the scene.
Acts 20: 7 On the first day of the week we came together to break bread. Paul spoke to the people and, because he intended to leave the next day, kept on talking until midnight. Where does it mention WORSHIP?
1 Corinthians 16:2 "On the first day of every week, each one of you should set aside a sum of money in keeping with your income, saving it up, so that when I come no collections will have to be made." Again, where does it mention WORSHIP on that day? It doesn't...
However, we are warned in Mark7:7 "Howbeit in vain do they worship me, teaching for doctrines the commandments of men. 8. For laying aside the commandment of God, ye hold the traditions of men...."
Satan is the great deceiver and he has done his job well. Read The Two Babylons or The Papal Worship by Alexander Hislop for more information on the great deception of the ages. Forget the doctrines of men.

3 Then God blessed the seventh day and made it holy, because on it he rested from all the work of creating that he had done.
They mystery of iniquity got to work very early on in the Christian church. It is recognizable when we compare some of the things that came to be taught with God's Word. Let's leave "church fathers" out of the mix, and go straight to the source of truth---spoken by God's own mouth and the mouths of His prophets and apostles.
"Remember the sabbath day, to keep it holy. Six days shalt thou labour and do all thy work, but the seventh day is the sabbath of the Lord thy God...For in six days the Lord made heaven and earth, the sea, and all that in them is, and rested the seventh day: wherefore the Lord blessed the sabbath day, and hallowed it." -Exodus 20:8-11
"If ye love me, keep my commandments." "He that hath my commandments, and keepeth them, he it is that loveth me: and he that loveth me shall be loved of my Father, and I will love him, and will manifest myself to him." -John 14:15, 21
"And hereby we do know that we know him, if we keep his commandments." "He that saith, I know him, and keepeth not his commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in him." -1 John 2:3, 4
