An 'elected' Rep exhibiting this much idiocy, one can understand how this nation has gone to he*l in a hand basket

Is there any limit to the idiocy of our 'elected' representatives?
Every day you read something that makes you realize how much truth there is to Donald Trump’s assertion that our 'lawmakers' have absolutely no idea what they’re doing. And it’s not just limited to Democrats, either.
Look at Knoxville, Tennessee, where a Republican representative named Martin Daniel thinks that free speech should mean giving Islamic terrorists access to college students. Defending his “Tennessee Student Free Speech Protection Act,” Daniel was asked if terrorists should be able to go to college campuses and “recruit for ISIS.” “Yes,” Daniel said. “So long as it doesn’t disrupt the proceedings on that campus. Yes sir. They can recruit people for any other organization or any other cause. I think it’s just part of being exposed to differing viewpoints."
Oh! Right! Right! 'Differing viewpoints.' That’s what college is for. Come get your degree, dabble in some Chomsky, make a gay friend, and join ISIS. It’s all part of the experience, maaan.
Daniel was challenged by a Democrat who said that this wasn’t about protests and free love. “There are young people who are not ready yet – they’re half-baked, half-cooked – who are recruited to work against their own parents, their own nation, and I would be concerned as a parent and as a citizen. Free speech is one thing; being stupid is another.” (Much as I dislike the 'democrats,' I DO believe this guy is on to something right for a change.)
Daniel maintained that Tennessee schools were “tending towards shielding students away from objectionable speech.” Perhaps sensing that college students were not the only ones “half-baked” in Tennessee, House Education Administration and Planning Subcommittee Chairman Mark White moved to shelve the bill.
To be sure, it’s vital that we do what we can to protect the First Amendment. And if this Tennessee Republican believes that students in his state are having their rights infringed by overzealous college administrators, he should be applauded for taking a stand. But come on. We have to be a little bit smarter about picking our battles here.
We’re up against an enemy that resembles nothing we’ve ever faced. They are ruthless, single-minded, well-financed, and extremely savvy. But that’s only part of what makes them so dangerous. The other part is that we have Democrats united to protect the good name of Islam at all costs, even if it means compromising our national security.
We need to be making it harder for terrorists to brainwash young Americans with their propaganda, not easier.
A little bit of intelligence goes a long way.

(Maybe Tennessee's Martin Daniel will find intelligence some where deep within, IF he HAS ANY, if he is open to looking within himself for it. With 'elected representatives' like Daniel, this country doesn't need enemies like ISIS recruiting. Daniel's 'critical thinking' is enough of a problem for the nation all by itself.)

Take this idiot out and try him by a jury of twelve of his peers for treason. If this article is on point and not misleading then this representative is openly advocating to support enemies of the state through recruitment, which would have been witnessed by more than the two required witnesses. Upon conviction of treason hang him from a yard arm at Leavenworth. God I hope what he said was taken out of context. I really hope Americans haven't devolved to this level of stupidity. If that was truly his position then that representative's intelligence should be checked by a qualified healthcare professional because he has to be bordering on mental retardation making him unfit for office.
