The Cross and Crucifixion of Jesus at Groom Texas

THE CROSS AND THE CRUCIFIXION OF JESUS CHRIST

GROOM, TEXAS

The crucifixion of Jesus Christ is depicted here in 14 stages at the Cross of Jesus Christ.

The giant Cross near Groom Texas just off I-40 and 42 miles east of Amarillo Texas.

The cross itself stand over 19 stories tall or 190'.

It can be seen from over 20 miles away and is beautifully lit during the night hours.

The 14 stages of the crucifixion begin with Jesus before Pilate and ending with Jesus being taken down from the cross and moved to the tomb.

The figures at each station are life sized and the artistry and detail is stunning.

The scene of Christ on the cross with the two thieves resides high up with a long run of stairs leading to the foot of the cross.

I have witnessed many kneeling there before Jesus.

John 3:16 For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.

Let us be careful. The wonders of the sacrifice of Jesus are beyond comprehension. It is good to remember not to use art for worship purposes. Doing so inevitably degenerates our concepts, imprinting us on mere constructions of other human being's imaginations. God wants to protect us from this negative spiritual phenomenon.

"Thou shalt not make unto thee any graven image, or any likeness of any thing that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth.Thou shalt not bow down thyself to them, nor serve them: for I the Lord thy God am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children unto the third and fourth generation of them that hate me, and shewing mercy unto thousands of them that love me, and keep my commandments."

-Exodus 20:4-6

If the guy came back and looked around, do you really think HE wants to see this? It would be akin to having your worst moment plastered everywhere, carved in stone, worn on necks, etc.

Never could figure out why people celebrate the death more than the rebirth.
It's as if he's a weakling cause they enjoy the image of suffering more.
Those beads have the suffering him, statutes of suffering, there is a reason for that, but no...people believe in salvation from suffering.

They do not want anyone to start from the viewpoint of overcoming, they have to start from suffering.
There is a reason. You can't tell those that believe they are being deceived.

What I can't fathom about religious people : How can / does re-enacting about the worst torture known to man become holy ? Or honor a creator ? Hasn't this been flogged enough ? IT'S TORTURE ! Does your god tell you to celebrate this ritual over and over ? Billions of ' Christians ' have been conned into ACCEPTING a " graven image " hanging over an Altar, and see it as exactly the opposite of what it is. Let's not get into the " transubstantiation " for what it really is, intended or not, cannibalism. Let it go ! Feed a child, help a homeless person, donate to charity, kiss your children and tell them you love them. Drop this silly crucifixion repetition and just love your creator, minus the wildly outdated ass backwards symbolism.
