Hello, This is Sally Baptiste;

Before you decide........

If you support Amendment 3 - Voters Rights over Gambling......Then you cannot vote for Amendment 13 - Ban Greyhound Racing.  Why?  Because Amendment 13 protects gambling and in fact promotes gambling.  You must read the fine print and do NOT depend on commercials or the limited text on the voting ballot. The amendment summaries on the ballot are very misleading.

If you support Amendment 6 - Victims rights.......Once again....read the fine print.  While I support protecting victims, this amendment destroys the basic concept of innocent until proven guilty.  We just witnessed an alleged victim almost destroy a persons life with no evidence of a crime.  Think about that!  Additionally, this amendment will most likely be determined to be unconstitutional.  Please read the amendment and do NOT depend on commercials.

Then there are several amendments created by the CRC.  Most of these amendments totally corrupt the process. They combine multiple unrelated issues under one amendment.  This should not be allowed and these should not passed.  One item on the amendment may be good (I.E. #7 - assistance for First Responders), but the other changes within the amendment are very bad.  Another case; #11 combines high-speed rail with criminal law.  These amendments are written this way to make changes that would never be passed on their own, but will be passed because a fraud being perpetrated on the public by promoting the one good item - most voters want to support our First Responders, but they would not approve the other items.  The CRC is corrupting this process. We need an amendment to eliminate the CRC!  Amendment 8 has been removed and three other amendments (7, 9 and 11) are being challenged in court.

Amendment 10 takes away rights from the counties.  Read the fine print and see what is really going on here.

There is a lot to think about it.  Remember, it is very difficult to undue bad policy.  We are better to say no to this type of corruption of the process and demand the amendments be rewritten.

Thank you,
Sally Baptiste
