Dear friends of the ITNJ,
As we begin the new year we'd like to thank you for your pioneering advocacy and continued support.
In 2018 we launched the ITNJ Judicial Commission of Inquiry into Human Trafficking & Child Sex Abuse at Westminster, London. This timely undertaking triggered a new momentum in the planetary conversation around those critical issues at stake.
The courage demonstrated by the many survivors and witnesses who testified, and continue to testify via the virtual seatings, have ramifications which can only be described as historic. Millions of people across the globe have viewed the testimonies, whilst victims and survivors have expressed their gratitude and relief at finally being heard and believed.
As many of you will know, the Prime Minister of Australia, Scott Morrison, recognised the ITNJ’s noble undertaking on behalf of the Australian government, with a formal invitation to our Chief Justice Sir John Walsh of Brannagh to attend the National Apology Day in Canberra in October.
In his speech the Prime Minister gave a heartfelt apology not only to victims of institutional child sex abuse, but to those of ritual abuse as well.
This was an unprecedented acknowledgement by any government of the horrors that continue to afflict countless victims at the hands of deeply nefarious elements within society, with potentially far reaching implications for many who have previously had their voices silenced.
It was for this very reason that we initialised the Judicial Commission of Inquiry, and we will forge ahead until the formal Commission Report is published and a Declaration event made public, anticipated later this year.
In June, the ITNJ will be seating a Judicial Commission of Inquiry into the Weaponisation of Healthcare & the Biosphere. It will be attended by delegates, dignitaries and people from across the globe.
We will launch the inquiry at a World Health Sovereignty Summit being hosted in Asia, which is to be announced on the ITNJ website. You will also be updated via email notification.
Thank you again for your continued support.
Wishing you a peaceful and joyous 2019!
On behalf of the Trustees, Justices, Commissioners and the ITNJ team.
Sacha Stone Trustee Emeritus
