Former U.S. President Jimmy Carter … in the wake of the NSA spying scandal criticized the American political system. “America has no functioning democracy,” Carter said Tuesday at a meeting of the “Atlantic Bridge” in Atlanta.

That would be a good thing if we had a functioning Republic. They could take their Democracy and put it where the sun don't shine. You will not find the word Democracy anywhere in the Declaration of Independence, the Bill of Rights or the Constitution. This is suppose to be a Republic; not a damned Democracy.
