From what I understand, you have to buy the baking soda without aluminum in it. Also the iodine that would be ingested has to be 2% iodine - not "iodide". It's best to find out what you are doing before blindly swallowing something you haven't researched to make sure what you are doing is right for you.
I have used baking soda for a number of years after I had breast cancer, you can get the soda without aluminum from the Health store and Thyroid support from Healthy Concepts. soda works also for leg cramps.
