Harry Truman was a different kind of President. He
probably made as many, or more important decisions regarding our nation's
history as any of the other 42 Presidents preceding him. However, a measure of
his greatness may rest on what he did after he left the White House.
The only asset he had when he died was the house he lived in, which was in Independence Missouri . His wife had inherited the house from her mother and father and other than their years in the White House, they lived their entire lives there.
When he retired from office in 1952 his income was a U.S. Army pension reported to have been $13,507.72 a year. Congress, noting that he was paying for his stamps and personally licking them, granted him an 'allowance' and, later, a retroactive pension of $25,000 per year.
After President Eisenhower was inaugurated, Harry and Bess drove home to Missouri by themselves. There was no Secret Service following them.
When offered corporate positions at large salaries, he declined, stating, "You don't want me. You want the office of the President, and that doesn't belong to me. It belongs to the American people and it's not for sale."
Even later, on May 6, 1971, when Congress was preparing to award him the Medal of Honor on his 87th birthday, he refused to accept it, writing, "I don't consider that I have done anything which should be the reason for any award, Congressional or otherwise."
As president he paid for all of his own travel expenses and food.
Modern politicians have found a new level of success in cashing in on the Presidency, resulting in untold wealth. Today, many in Congress also have found a way to become quite wealthy while enjoying the fruits of their offices. Political offices are now for sale (cf. Illinois ).
Good old Harry Truman was correct when he observed, "My choices in life were either to be a piano player in a whore house or a politician. And to tell the truth, there's hardly any difference!

Yes what you have written is note-worthy! Let's look @ the rest of the story...
In 1913, the Federal Reserve Act was passed (in December when no one was paying attention)! So by the time this man is in the White House, their plan is in full-motion - 34 years!
He was only President because FDR died while in office and admitted that FDR did not keep him in the loop about how the country was being operated which included foreign policy!
He was President when the Roswell UFO Crash happened in New Mexico as well as when Rear Admiral Richard Byrd on one of his expeditions to the North Pole discovered that the "earth is hollow" (www.hollowearthnetwork.com) yet he did not believe this well-decorated man (all happening in 1947)!
Perhaps he didn't want to accept any speaking engagements because he knew better and would not be able to tell the American people the truth!
You may have to ask yourself if this man "ever" told the American public the truth or simply kept the gears turning for the Military Complex to continue its growth!
His quote (imho) clearly depicts how he felt about his time in D.C. and perhaps why he wanted to fade into the sunset with no fanfare:

TRUMAN created the CIA, the most CORRUPT agency in the world (besides the Mossad). It has been drug-running, money-laundering, gun-running, and assassinating Americans, American troops, and popularly-elected foreign leaders since its inception...and is STILL drug-running and money-laundering TODAY. The agency sticks its nose where it doesn't belong -- dressing up as Arabs and starting the riots in Libya, Egypt, Syria, Pakistan, etc. etc. as an EXUSE for US/UN invasion of those countries and confiscating their gold, water, and wealth and DESTROYING Israel's neighbors. JFK intended to ABOLISH the CIA, and was MURDERED by them and the Zionists owning the FEDERAL RESERVE BANK. JFK also wanted to prevent Israel's access to nuclear bombs - they now have over 400 of them, compliments of the TRAITORS in the good ole USA.)
Trumam was contradiction. He was a man with good tendencies but He abandon them to serve the unethical and immoral organization He was involved with. History should remember you for what you did not what for you thought. He did not act in the best interest of the U.S. or the world.
As for Israel having over 400 nuclear bombs; they have over 400 nuclear duds, just like every other country that thinks they have nuc's. Even the USA, Inc. has duds. The nuc's have been neutered. So not to worry about nuc's. Powers that be, who are much more highly evolved than us have seen to that. There will be no nuclear wars allowed on mother earth and all of this fuss about Iran building a nuc is all BS. It is all just a bunch of war mongering talk to get the people in fear and keep the military industrial complex corporations all ramped up and in full gear.
As for nuc's, Truman was the only man in history to order nuc's dropped on other human beings and he will be the last.
Then where did the nukes at Fukishima come from, and the fallout that's spreading across the U.S.?
