Port Authority officials said a runway had been plowed shortly before
a Delta flight skidded and crashed through a fence as it landed
Thursday morning at LaGuardia Airport Thursday morning.
It happened just after 11 a.m. on Runway 13 as Delta Flight 1086 was coming in from Atlanta. The plane was landing at about 100 mph when it skidded out of control.
While it was snowing at the time, two other planes had landed safely in the snow earlier, CBS2’s Tony Aiello reported.
Photos and video from the scene showed the MD88 aircraft sitting in the snow with its nose through a fence near the water. Passengers could be seen exiting the plane off the wing and trudging through the snow.
Another few feet, and the plane would have been in the chilly waters of Flushing Bay.
“The plane came down and it slid, and then it took a spin to the left, and we looked out the window, and we could see the wing was hitting a fence somewhere. And then it just was tumbly and the plane came to a stop,” said passenger Margaret Maney.
“It felt like a regular landing until it started sliding,” added passenger Naquithan Taylor. “I realized that it wasn’t going well when we hit a stop, and then I seen water kind of coming up and gasoline running from the wing.”.
“We thought that we were in the water, everybody thought it was in the water and then they opened the back door and all the snow and things fell out and then the firemen came around helping everybody,” another passenger said.

As an educated guess, the two previous planes that landed safely must have been flown by Upstate New York or Michigan pilots. The pilots of the crashed plane must have been from Arkansas or Texas or another southern state.

That white stuff, on the ground, looks a whole lot like global warming to me. What's the matter with you people; are you blind. Can't ya tell global warming when you see it. Those poor bastards back east have been getting global warming dumped on them for quite some time now. Some have several feet of global warming in their yards.
Only a moron with an IQ of minus fifty would make such an idiotic statement. Why don't we just blame everything on global warming! Oh it couldn't be pilot error it has to be global warming which is a clever ruse to deliberately attack the middle class to make paupers out of them. News Flash all of you imbeciles who bought into this nonsense, without carbon dioxide our planet would cease to exist. Where do you think oxygen comes from? Plants and trees produce oxygen, which by the way are fuled by carbon dioxide. Every time I hear an argument made for global warming, I could almost hear that persons brain grind to a completed halt. If you say something often enough, you begin to believe it. Stop talking nonsense and begin to speak the truth for a change.

'Global warming'?! Don't know whether to cry? Or laugh! Still laughing!!!!! That 'theory,' aka bullsh*t, was disproved YEARS ago!!! That BS was made up in a meeting of the globalists and passed on to the UN, with Al Gore picking it up as his baby'!! Anyway, looks more like pilot(s) error - snow covering ground in an area you are not familiar with could fool you - pilots who fly north vs pilots who fly primarily south. We Texans don't see much snow at all! What is it??!!
