(NaturalNews) A multidisciplinary research team from the University of Kansas (KU) has made a pioneering discovery in the realm of natural, plant-based cancer treatments. Preliminary findings published in the Journal of Natural Products (JNP) reveal that wild tomatillo (Physalis longifolia), a weed commonly found throughout the midwestern Great Plains and in other areas of North America, possesses at least 14 unique anti-cancer compounds that could one day change the way doctors approach cancer treatment.

NOTE: Thought there currently appears to be a dearth of extracts or other supplements based on wild tomatillo plants, the good news is that they are easy to grow in a wide part of the country and the seeds are available from numeorous sources (just do a search and you will see). Plus, they are reported to taste great! I'm putting my order in today!

Thank you for the tip. I will add this plant to my garden. It's sad that if eating this plant truly is a cure for cancer, doctors will never tell their patients about it. Big pharma won't let them. I base my opinion on my own experience. I was instructed by my doctor to start taking statin cholesterol lowering drugs for a total cholesterol level of 250. I refused to take the drug due to the risk of horrible and permanent side effects. With 60 days of diet change and excercise I lowered my cholesterol to 220. Why do doctors discourage a patient's attempt to lower their cholesterol with diet, and instead try to push young people who aren't even sick into taking drugs that can ruin their liver and cause muscle and memory loss? Millions of young healthy people are now on statins. No one knows the long term side effects. A drug that has only been around for two years, and yet pharma co's are reccomending people start young snd take it all of their lives?! Something's not right here.

Tomatillo has long been consumed in Mexico primarily in their "green salsa" and many, many other dishes. It's delicious. I'm not sure if the plant needs to be consumed or the tomato of this plant, but it's a delicious way to kill cancer if it's the "fruit".
