Tuesday Morning News Summaries

Will chair the opening session of the new parliament and government rescue of the free and the citizen and the other blocks, headed by Chalabi

This is awesome news and comes on the tail of Frank's announcement on the Monday CC....that Chalabi would be the name put forth by the National Coalition as Prime Minister when the new Parliament comes together for their first session....

with this new government it is expected that a reformatted agreement with the US will be forthcoming.....there is expected to be less of a threat for US weapons to be used as a part of sectarian issues than might have been expected or seen in the past.

CBI: our reserves "safe" with banks abroad

CBI Governor Turki has said that the Iraqi reserves are safe and contained in banks abroad.....the CBI has the ability to support the exchange rate of the dinar to the fullest extent.....and without a roof

..interesting choice of words....gold reserves have been doubled three times just in the current year.....the masterful things the CBI does while everyone's attention is on other things.

Asadi: the first session of the new parliament after consulting political leaders

Iraqi Vice President Khodair, in the absence of President Talabani is calling for the first session of the new Parliament after he has consulted with the major political blocs.....

signs of progress in the midst of all else that is going on.....what would he be telling these political blocs.....IMO.....we are about to have a new PM, give him all your support and let us move out of this mess that has been created, we need unity and it starts with you, each of the major political blocs and their leaders.

Iraq, Kuwait delivers approximately 4,500 books and manuscripts

Iraq continues their cooperation with Kuwait and provides 4,500 books and manuscripts containing copper and tapes and paintings taken from the Kuwaiti's during the 1990 invasion.

Kurdistan calls for a quarter of Iraq's oil revenues

Perhaps it is that the Kurds sense a weakening in the Baghdad government while a new government is being put into place....why not strike while the iron is hot.....

they are now saying that their "cut" of the budget on oil revenues should be 25% not 17% and a census would prove out that fact....along with increasing oil production from the Kurds.

Peshmerga forces control most of Iraq’s disputed areas

Can you say Article 140 accomplished....thanks to the stalwart effort of the Peshmerga who now stand in control of much of the disputed areas of Iraq....and they didn't sprout out of the turnip patch last night.....they aren't budging from where they stand today for obvious reasons.....

he who controls the land.....pretty much owns the land.....it will be interesting to see how Baghdad responds to the Kurd land grab.

Fears supports Iraqi oil and gold prices

World oil prices are still reflecting fears that Iraqi oil production could be adversely affected by the terrorist/militant insurgence across Iraq.....Brent crude approached $113/barrel yesterday amid the fears.....thus far though the oil fields of Iraq have been left alone.

Exchange companies in Jordan continues to transfer money from Iraq

Jordan says they continue to do business with Iraqis wishing to transfer money from Iraq to Jordan.....they go through a thorough documentation process to prevent any possible money laundering...they apparently are on a sharp watch for what has been reported as DAASH gunmen who may have large amounts of Iraqi cash.....

IMO...this has still been unsubstantiated.....none the less the Jordanians are watchful and wary of possible issues in the transfer of money from Iraq and other Arab nations as well.

The closure of the largest Iraqi oil refinery and the evacuation of foreign workers

Iraq is reporting the closure of their largest refinery last night, that foreign workers are being evacuated, but local personnel remain in their positions with the facility being guarded by the Iraqi Army

.IMO....the closure of this refinery will only impact Iraqi needs for refined products....it does not affect the export of crude oil either through the Kurd pipeline to Turkey or the southern export avenues through Basra.

Next Thursday .. capital increase shares of "Bank of Kurdistan"

Some areas seem to be conducting business as usual it seems.....Bank of Kurdistan to up its reserves to 400 billion dinars....and will be electing a new administration on Thursday.

Kurdistan: Peshmerga presence in the disputed areas is not an occupation, but to fill the void

The Peshmerga is filling a void where there was a need to protect Iraqi citizens....it just so happens the voids they are filling also are many of the areas of concern in the past relating to Article 140, lands taken from them by the former regime....they do not want their presence to be seen as an occupation tho.

Iraq expands the scope of Internet blocking connections to impede the militants

Under the guise of blocking communications of the terrorists/militants, Iraq continues to expand the scope of their Internet blocking....

phone companies have also been instructed to stop data transmission via mobile devices as well...unfortunately the blocking may not prove to be complete in all areas especially in the north.

Maliki's coalition in response to the requirement of Obama's reconciliation: the weapon first!

State of Law coalition is pointing out to Obama that the Iraqi's need weapons, intelligence, and security cooperation more than they need a US presence at the moment.....give us what we demand they are telling Washington....

Obama claims there is no sense of compromise and without that there will be no US military intervention.....compromise with terrorists???? I don't think so.....don't make me get on my political soapbox.

Download two more tankers of oil in Iraqi Kurdistan Jahan Turkish port

The Kurds have scheduled two more tankers at the Ceyhan port in Turkey this week.....the Kurds are planning on pumping between 200-250 million barrels a day in July and heading for 400 million barrels a day by the end of the year.

Iraq conflict: Kurds 'will not help retake Mosul'

The Prime Minister of the Kurdistan, Barzani, nephew to the Kurd President, is saying that the Peshmerga will not assist the Iraqi Army in retaking Mosul.....

there is more at stake than just pushing out terrorists....there are issues with the Sunni Arabs that Iraq must deal with he says.....he proposes that the Sunni Arabs be allowed to create their own autonomous area like the Kurds have done.....

the Peshmerga have done well in retaking and defending what they believe to be rightfully theirs  ....Barzani blames much of the problems on Maliki and how things have been governed over the past 8 years....

he believes that if the US is going to step in and offer assistance it should only be done with assurances that Maliki will not capture a third term.

Order of the Ameri .. $ 200 price Visa to travel to Arbil .. and senior politicians are leaving Iraq Baghdad International Airport!

Sources from the Baghdad airport confirm the flight of many prominent politicians allegedly leaving Iraq on "summer vacations"....they stress that business as usual for flights coming and going.....

but also report missile strikes this morning....meanwhile the airport is considered a military base for the Army Aviation Center for volunteer militias.

UN calls on parliament to the meeting and the agreement calls for political leaders to address the threats

The UN is calling on the Iraqi Parliament to convene its new session to ensure a continuity with the political process....they need to quickly address what can be done to resolve security issues and deal with terrorist threats that are imminent....

however it appears the Liberal bloc is already back to their dirty politics and suggesting boycotts of the first Parliament session....when will these people come to grips with the fact they have a job to do, and take their rightful position or put someone in their place who will act in accordance to how the Parliament is supposed to work.

UN urges Maliki to conduct a dialogue to stop the sectarian violence

The UN is barking up the wrong tree.....why be talking to Maliki and expecting any changes...the same for Washington....Maliki's watch stopped working as of midnight Saturday.....where is his power today

.....the push needs to be on to get a government and COM seated as quickly as possible, and let the new PM take the reins and start making the required decisions to bring order back to the Iraqi nation

....Maliki has had 8 years to get his country in order.....buy has nothing to show for it except continued violence and unrest from Sunni militants and the worst terrorist group to ever set foot on earth.....who in their right mind thinks that Maliki even cares about change today.

Foreign embassies transfer staff to Kurdistan Region

The UN, US and other foreign mission in Baghdad have transferred many employees to Erbil for safety reasons. The US Embassy has replaced many of these employees with security personnel.

Iraqi dinar regain "a bit of stability," a week after wobbling because of security threats

CBI claims they have sufficient reserves to address the current crisis and maintain the exchange rate.....basically business as usual for them....there were increased demands for the dollar last week amidst the security crisis as it unfolded but this week has seen more stability.

Iraq crisis: U.S. moves firepower to region as ISIS advance continues

The Pentagon is beefing up the US presence in the Middle East region with continued advances by the terrorist group ISIS/ISIL....Marines and Army support have been added to the US Embassy and additional troops and helicopters are now on standby should a total evacuation become necessary.....

what gets me is the open communications from the White House that we aren't going to do anything unless Maliki makes compromises and starts to talk.....

do we think the terrorists aren't seeing this as well....I'm sure it makes them cower in their boots....(NOT).....shaking my head at how foreign policy is dealt with.

Products: There are options constitutional, judicial and legal to restore Kirkuk and disputed areas of the Kurds

I'm not sure what gives the State of Law coalition the right to run down the efforts of the Kurds and the Peshmerga at this point....they should be thankful the Peshmerga was willing to step in where Maliki's army acted like a bunch of rabbits and went into hiding when they thought they would be threatened by the terrorists.....

the Peshmerga is not claiming to occupy Kirkuk but is there for security purposes, something the Iraqi Army failed to do....I don't see the Kurds handing these key points of real estate back over to the Iraqi's any time soon, and if I were Iraqi citizens in the area I would take stock of how quickly the Peshmerga were there to help and remember what the Iraqi Army did...run....time will tell.

Kurdistan announces the completion of linking the Kirkuk fields to the pipeline Kurdish

In case you were wondering how the Kurds intended to jump from 100 million barrels a day to 250 million barrels a day of oil exported....we just solved that mystery.....with this pipeline completion and tying the oilfields around Kirkuk to the new Kurd pipeline into Turkey they should be able to bring up their exports in short order.

The second meeting of leaders of political blocs to discuss all developments out a unified position

A second meeting of political blocs is scheduled for Tuesday evening to discuss the issues with the latest problems of the security of the nation and its people....

they are hopeful to have some idea of how to politically proceed in dealing with the security issues....the head of the National Alliance is extending invitations to the meeting....makes me wonder how does Chalabi figure into the meeting.

Rise in the general index of the Iraqi market for securities

The ISX saw a bit of a surge on Tuesday, rising 3.38%
