Will we see Parliament getting together for a session in the next two days? So says the voice of the President....through his Vice President Khodair.....originally the initial meeting was to be held June 30, but in staying with legal precedent the meeting will now be convened much sooner.......we shall see what happens.
PM Barzani: Maliki should step down
Barzani is talking sense, something that Maliki doesn't seem to want to listen to......step down now.....allow the country to pull itself back together.....there has been 8 years of continuous turmoil and with no end in sight.....enough is enough.....Barzani talks of a political solution, not a military one.....but agrees with the US troop involvement as a "good step"......Maliki needs to pay attention to the music....are they playing a dirge.....for an exit?

Basra calling for the next Parliament to amend the law of
conservation of sources of wealth "hydrocarbon"
The province of Basra is calling on the new Parliament to consider amending the existing law of conservation of sources....the Hydrocarbon Law that stems back to Saddam's days in the 1980's....they are basically claiming they have much more oil under the surface that they are now not getting credit for and want to amend the law such that their share is increased. |
Parliamentary
Legal: American advisers can be granted immunity if, in accordance with the
security agreement
Legal Committee gives a head nod to US military advisors setting foot in Iraq again, as long as they operate in accordance with security agreement.....which one.....the newly signed one.....of course......these advisors/trainers bring a wealth of knowledge and experience to Iraq and should be welcomed.
July 20 launch of the salaries of social protection
Salaries and benefits to be issued next month on the 20th.....for men and women of Baghdad and all other provinces where there are at least one million beneficiaries....the Ministry of Labor and Statistical Affairs is looking at all avenues to dispense this money to citizens....that would also include Qi Cards I would presume.
Everyone demanding the departure of al-Maliki even Dawa
Maliki has even succeeded in getting Dawa Party stirred up to the point they too are basically admitting that his way for the past 8 years has not been advantageous for Iraq or its people.....they are not satisfied that Maliki is making decisions on his own and is failing to bring unity to the country.....the National Alliance is actively seeking a new candidate to put forth.....believing that Maliki has served past his time.....I believe the next few days will prove to be very busy and very interesting....stay tuned.
Massive withdrawals of depositors .. and fears collapse of the dinar amid the absence of a central!
There is growing unrest by Iraqi depositors in local and foreign banks in Iraq....to the point they are withdrawing their funds in fear of a collapse of the IQD.....some banks have suspended operations due to lack of funds being sent to them from the CBI.....that must make the unrest grow even more fierce.....it sounds like the CBI is trying to minimize a run on the banks at this point.....need to keep a close eye to this.
U.S. official: Kerry will discuss the potential for tripping over Iraq's oil supplies
Oh this should give everyone in Iraq a warm fuzzy feeling.....Sec of State Kerry is allegedly going to show up in Iraq....now of all times.....now after so much damage has been done....let's pay a little attention to a country we once tried to save from the very menace they face today.....a menace that someone uttered "were on the run" not so long ago.....I'm sure that there will be a warm welcome for him.....it is kind of funny.....this talk of oil disruption is not even remotely close to being a reality.....nothing in the way of exports to the north or the south have been threatened.
Sources: Solag star and leading candidate to head the next government
Well one political party is predicting their candidate to be the leading candidate for the PM job that Maliki appears to be vacating soon....but they fail miserably in explaining why they believe their candidate will get this nomination....just because they dream it doesn't make it so.....and just because they wish that Maliki would walk away.....doesn't mean that will happen either.....the next several days should be very interesting.....watch what they do, not what they say.
Kerry on Iraq tomorrow and meet with al-Maliki and Najafi and Barzani and Hakim
Would John Kerry waste his time with Maliki if he is supposedly being ousted as PM.....TIMING......it sends a very subtle message....TIMING.....meeting with Maliki, Najafi...why him....he is no longer Speaker of Parliament....Barzani and Hakim...those two I can understand wholeheartedly.
Mahma Khalil urges the government to activate the customs tariff at the border crossing points
This to me is a bit funny......the Kurds are now calling for the implementation of the customs tariff at border crossings and pointing fingers at Basra....the Kurds were the ones back in January who were dragging their feet to implement this when it was first rolled out.....now they are asking for it.....what gives here.....I don't see this happening any time soon....it is worse than trying to catch a greased pig.
National calls to postpone the first session
First off, this is a political ploy to delay getting the government seated....secondly who gave the National Coalition the authority to make this happen....and thirdly if they decide to boycott this first meeting.....they should all be summarily dismissed for dereliction of duty....but do not ship them to the US.

I could so editorialize some of this news....but will
suffice things in this manner.....pay close attention to what the players are
doing....
do not get caught up in the rhetoric of what they say......too much of that is smoke and mirrors..... the next several days should be of great importance. Randy |
