 Comment - The process to change the country has begun. Maliki declared all by himself a state of emergency yesterday. The parliament is the only organization that has the power to grant a state of emergence and rather than do that they called for the government to resign.

 Maliki tried to get the federal court to grant him the state of emergency and they declined. So he just declared it all by himself. Everyone is ignoring his self proclaimed state of emergency.

Hakim in the first article explains that he does not have the ability to do this and that none of the powers a state of emergency that would be involved are active.

The European Union just called for Maliki to step down.
~~~
Saudia Arabia also called for him to step down stating he is the root cause of the ploblems that have brought Iraq to where it is today.
The insurgents in Mosul stated yesterday that their only goal is to get rid of the Maliki government that has marginalized everyone but the Shia's and that if this situation changes they will pull out of the areas that they still occupy.
   Today/last night, Zubaidi has called on the courts to ratify the election results and has been infornmed that the election results will be released in the next two to three days. The election committee had reported that the numbers floating around a week ago will not change much.
Once the election results are ratified the new parliament will meet and get down to the business of changing the government which is now operating under a caretaker government.
So by Monday, Tuesday or Wednesday we should see the process again moving along only IMO it will move quickly because all the main players have already been chosen and agreed to. Maliki has been unable to stop it no matter what dirty trick he has tried.
So potentially up to Friday next week everything will continue to look confusing especially if you are reading the US media. Most of what is printed is being produced right here and is being fed this crap by the Maliki government.
Hang in everyone. Everything will become much more clear by next Friday or before. The crux of the hold up is the election results not having been ratified yet. The coalition cannot move forward until these official results are released. This is not what the US press is telling you. tlar
    Yesterday immunity was lifted for the parliament and everyone involved in the government. The article I sent you
